    AUDITORY SERVICES
After determining that the services of other "A"-rated hearing doctors were not doing the job, I made an appointment with Auditory Services. I can honestly say that I came away from my initial appointments pleased with my new hearing aids and with the feeling that Dr. Zolt is a "real" doctor, rather than someone who merely reprogrammed the volume on my existing hearing aids. We discussed other therapies that can help down the road. I would highly recommend Auditory Services for a thorough look at patients' hearing needs.

    Virginia Health Center, LLC
I have always gotten great service with this doctor's office. Doctor O'Donnell is very easy to talk to and very experienced. Usually, I see np Linda D. Firth-Blackburn, who has great experience and explains everything in detail. She is just as good as any doctor that I've seen before and is never in a rush, always thorough, and just a very pleasant person to deal with. Whenever I have health concerns, its very easy to get an appointment. Often, I've sent messages on health issues and they respond to them quickly, usually allowing me to bypass an office visit altogether because they addressed my concern by their site email message. The health portal website they use is great for getting information on health visits, lab results, sending messages, etc. I highly recommend

    Hull Hearing Aid Service Inc
I contacted Hull Hearing because my regular provider wasn't answering phone calls or email messages. I explained that my hearing aids were cutting on and off. They sent my devices back to the manufacturer (even though I bought them elsewhere) and gave me a loaner pair that worked great. The manufacturer ended up replacing my devices with new ones. And neither the manufacturer nor Hull charged me anything! So, I am now a customer for life. I dealt with Brent for my aids and with Marie at the front desk. Both were very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Hull Hearing. They came to my rescue!

    Thomas Acupuncture & Herbs Clinic
I have been seeing Dr. Thomas, a holistic acupuncturist, for about 9 months. In that time, any joint pain or muscle injury pain has been reduced to almost nothing. The only time I get occasional headaches is during pollen season. My numerous allergy symptoms are reduced. Because of the diet and supplements, my former digestive symptoms are greatly reduced and my energy level has gone up. He has been able to treat any physical symptom I have mentioned.

Center for Breast Health - Virginia Hospital Ctr
I highly recommend Dr. Mary Louise Sebastian (AKA Dr. Molly (Mary L.) Sebastian) of “The Reinsch Pierce Family Center for Breast Health” at VIRGINIA HOSPITAL CENTER for a bilateral mastectomy and an axillary lymph node dissection. The Center for Breast Health is located at 1625 North George Mason Drive, Suite 315, Arlington, VA 22205. The phone number is (703) 717-4217. Dr. Sebastian is a FANTASTIC doctor! I could not have found a better surgeon for my bilateral mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection. The axillary lymph node dissection was necessary in order to check the number of compromised lymph nodes with cancer cells. After receiving the results, I decided to proceed with radiation. Dr. Sebastian is extremely knowledgeable, efficient and detail oriented. A genuinely compassionate human being. I always felt safe under her care. Dr. Sebastian took ample time to explain all the details of my upcoming surgery, answered all my questions and guided me through the entire process. I never felt rushed in her office. I am forever grateful to Dr. Sebastian for the excellent work she did on me! My bilateral mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection surgeries performed by Dr. Sebastian occurred before my DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction surgery performed by Dr. Alex Mesbahi (AKA Dr. Ali-Reza Nouri-Mesbahi or Dr. Ali Mesbahi) of “National Center for Plastic Surgery.” All surgeries were conducted on February 12, 2019 at Virginia Hospital Center. As pleased as I was with Dr. Sebastian’s work, I was extremely disappointed with the results of my DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction performed by Dr. Alex Mesbahi, who was one of the three Plastic Surgeons recommended by her. I do not recommend Dr. Ali Mesbahi for a DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction. The surgery was poorly done! It left me with uncomfortably abnormal bilateral bulges of tissue that extended from my armpits to the bottom of my breasts. My breasts were left asymmetrical, unsmooth and hollow in some areas. The contour was horrendous after surgery. The stitches on my abdomen sit 3” below navel (too high) and have two small “dog ears” on each side of the suture line. He delayed my radiation treatments. In hindsight, I wish I could have selected a Plastic Surgeon of my choice rather than be restricted to one of only three choices of Plastic Surgeons recommended by Dr. Sebastian. All in all, I highly recommend Dr. Sebastian of “The Reinsch Pierce Family Center for Breast Health” at VIRGINIA HOSPITAL CENTER for a bilateral mastectomy and an axillary lymph node dissection.

    Masternick, Dr. Eric B.
I have been seeing Dr. Masternick for many years for various foot issues. He cured my Plantar Fasciitis, he helped with the healing of my broken big toe, he has assessed what i thought was a sprained ankle and now fixing a stubborn toenail that won't grow back. Dr. Masternick knows his stuff and does not jump to the biggest most expensive "cure" first. Instead of custom orthotics right off the bat for Plantar Fasciitis, he gave me cheaper inserts which worked for me. He has helped with a number of issues. I would recommend him. I don't think it fair that a person gave him an "F" grade for something that happened with someone working in the office. That is not a reflection of him personally as a Dr., not to mention he shares the office with several other doctors. Don't hesitate to see him (and his office staff has always been great anyway).

Vascular Associates of Northern Virginia, P.C.
Absolutely fantastic! Dr. Podolsky and his staff are some of the most caring, understanding, and thorough specialists in the area. Although you never think you will need a vascular surgeon, knowing that there is someone like Dr. Podolsky, with his knowledge and straight forward bedside manner, makes the process and procedure so much easier. My procedure was a last minute "pre-surgery surgery" so that I could get another surgery done a week later. My primary surgeon recommended Vascular Associates and I could not have been more pleased. From an informative pre-procedure consultation to walking me through every step of the procedure the day of surgery, Dr. Podolsky and his staff were beyond caring and were absolute angels during my entire time. Even after my IVC filter came out, the entire team made sure I was comfortable, safe, and healthy. This was the first time I had a hard time saying goodbye to a doctor because of how wonderful they made me feel. It sounds strange, but they not only care for the heart and the entire vascular system, Vascular Associates cares for the whole person. You are in good hands from the moment you walk in the door.

    Joann Urquhart MD
I did not have a good experience with Dr. Urquhart. Of the three in-office visits I had, the wait was over an hour twice, no apologies from the doctor. I was seen for postprandial (after meal) tachycardia and blood pressure disturbances, which had already been diagnosed by a different doctor. I was looking for treatment as this condition is quite debilitating. Instead I got a repeat of the tests already completed (plus some others) and a medication that made things worse. The initial work-up, which was extensive, was done without speaking to me first, or, examining my prior records carefully, it seemed. After Dr. Urquhart established that I didn't have any diseases or abnormalities of the heart and circulatory system (and confirmed the tachycardia), she was done. She asked me what my internist thought of "all this." Really? He was the one who referred me to a cardiologist. Postprandial problems with the cardiac rythm and blood pressure can be caused by a variety of endocrine, GI, and autonomic nervous system issues (reactive hypoglycemia, dumping syndrome, Roemheld syndrome, etc.), especially in people over 50 (I am in my late 50s). Dr. Urquhart seemed to have no knowledge in this area and no interest in helping me get relief. She told me that there may be tests for these postprandial problems, but she doesn't do them; she seemed unfamiliar with such tests and in general with this area of cardiology. She did not refer me to anyone who is and showed no interest in gaining knowledge in this area. She simply washed her hands off of the whole thing, and that's despite the fact that I explained to her how much my condition diminished my ability to live a normal life. I had explained, for example, that I often feel unwell (like about to pass out) to the point of being afraid to take care of my newborn grandchild (not being able to keep him safe when alone with him). Postprandial cardiac disturbances are not extremely comon but not unknown in the medical profession. There is information about them on the Internet and support groups for those affected. A good cardiologist should certainly be familiar with medical conditions that impact the heart and blood pressure. A good cardiologist should be able to provide information and refer for diagnostics and treatment for all conditions affecting the heart rhythm and blood pressure, even those that do not originate in the circulatory system itself. In the case of the Roemheld syndrome, for example, certain GI disturbances can lead to the constricton of the space in the chest cavity, interfering with the heart's ability to pump blood and leading to tachycardia. One would expect an experienced cardiologist to know this and be able to advise and refer the patient. No such luck with Dr. Urquhart. I recently emailed Dr. Urquhart some links related to this, but she did not pay me the courtesy of responding. In addition, when I mentioned to Dr. Urquhart that my internist suggested a tilt-table test to rule out an autonomic dysfunction, she told me that these tests are "very difficult" because "they turn you upside down until you pass out." That's false. I don't know why she would spread these untruths. Lack of knowledge? Outdated knowledge? I had the test and at no point did "they" turn me "upside down" and at no point was I in danger of passing out. I was quite put off by the experience with Dr. Urquhart, however.
