Did incredible work. I just bought the house and they literally started a day after the sale went through. In a month they had the basement totally renovated with flooring walls, ceiling, too wet bars oh, a totally new bathroom, and a laundry room. All changes were designed by Clint and managed by Steve and his crew come. I basically gave them the keys to the basement all month and let them run with it with only occasion calls for clarification. They were able to get the whole place renovated, painted, cleaned up, and permitted within a month. I've had issues in the past with other Angieslist referrals but these guys are the real deal. Thanks for the great work!

Ted and Team did a great bathroom shower remodel for me. Originally, I hoped we'd be able to repair some of the tiles so I could have the tiles reglazed but that was a no-go because the shower walls weren't originally installed well. On short notice, Ted and Team were able to remodel the shower, replace ceiling vent fans in the both bathrooms, fix two leaking toilets, and a roof leak all in the span of a week. Ted and Team were very communicative, which I really appreciated. I wasn't local so they sent me pictures almost every day showing progress as well as a daily invoice so I could see where I was from a budgeting perspective. They also forwarded me emails of any materials purchased so I have the receipts in case of any warranty issues. I've used Ted and Team in the past, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.

Very well....they were recommended by neighbor, and although they may have been a bit pricey, partly because of scope of work we agreed to, we would use again.....and have recommended them to others because of their overall high quality service, and have only heard positives from those that we forwarded recommendation......Rick and Marcia, Falls Church

We hired SES to address moisture and mold issues in our two crawl spaces. Overall, I am happy with the service received and the final product, though I note that there were a few scheduling hiccups along the way. INITIAL APPOINTMENT/SCOPE OF WORK Scheduling the initial appointment was easy. The SES representative was on time, knowledgeable, spent a good amount of time examining our two crawl spaces, and explained the options to us in understandable terms. He recommended crawl space encapsulation, a dehumidifer, sealing the vents and rim joist with spray foam, insulating the walls with foam board, removing our old/moldy fiberglass insulation, and mold treatment. We chose SES -- despite being the 2nd most expensive quote we got of 4 quotes received -- because they offered the most comprehensive service for our needs (including mold removal/treatment). I did not feel that SES used aggressive sales tactics or tried to push anything that I did not need (which I heard was somewhat common in the basement waterproofing industry). SCHEDULING & INSTALLATION SES estimated 3 days for the job and was able to schedule a crew to perform the work within 1.5 months (despite significant rains in the NoVA area). The night before the appointment, I received an email saying there would be a one-day delay because the crew had to finish a prior job. This was understandable, but if the job had taken the full 3 estimated days, I would have had to change my work schedule to make it work (it all worked out but I note it since this could be a drawback for others who do not have flexibility on dates / work without much advanced notice). The installation itself was smooth. The 3-man crew was timely, courteous, very professional, and cleaned up after work on each day. They completed everything in 2 days (instead of the projected 3 days). SES then had to schedule an electrician to come out to do the electrical work necessary to complete the dehumidifer installation. There was a minor hiccup here in that SES scheduled the electrician without first communicating with me about the date. I found out about the appointment only when I called SES of my own accord to ask when they were planning to send the electrician (since I had not heard from them about a date). Fortunately, I was able to work from home to make the appointment work, but communication could have been a bit clearer. FOLLOW-UP I was impressed with SES's follow-up. An SES representative came back to my house a month after the installation -- as he promised -- to follow up and check on the humidity levels in my crawl spaces. At that point, we decided to do additional work and install a dehumidifer in our second crawl space as well. This required drilling a hole in the foundation wall and installation of an electrical outlet. Here, again, though, there was a minor hiccup on scheduling the work. SES scheduled an electrician to come out, but when he arrived, he realized he was not insured to drill the hole necessary for installing the electrical outlet. This meant SES then had to schedule another date/time for someone else to first come drill the hole, and then another date/time for the electrician to come back. Luckily, I had family in town staying with me and thus some flexibility as to scheduling. But again, communication could have been clearer and prevented the hiccup. That said, SES accommodated me when I had to switch the date of installation of the additional dehumidifer, and the installation itself went off without a hitch. I am also very happy with the professionalism of the installation crew that came out to install the second dehumidifer. As for whether all of this work solves my moisture & mold problems, I am cautiously optimistic. It all looks very good, and the dehumidifers are humming away. I'll have to wait for the next rainy season to see.

    Home Energy Saving Solutions LLC
I've known for a long time that my 33-year-old townhouse has some problems when it comes to energy efficiency and air leakage. I searched Angie's List for a company to come to my home to perform an energy audit. Based on the many positive reviews, I booked an appointment with HESS. Mohammed came to my home and examined the exterior and interior and showed me problem areas, many of which I could address myself. The audit also included a blower-door test (with infrared camera) to show where air leaks were occurring. A few days later, Mohammed emailed me a very detailed report of his findings and recommendations. As I expected, my attic was insufficiently air-sealed and insulated. Based on an estimate provided by Mohammed (and after getting one other estimate from a well-reviewed insulation company), I went ahead with Mohammed's proposal, which included four main tasks in the attic: 1) installing baffles near the eaves to prevent wind from moving the insulation, 2) air-sealing all seams/gaps in the attic floor with spray foam, 3) blow-in cellulose insulation (on top of my existing insulation) to a depth to achieve R-49, 4) insulate and weatherstrip the attic hatch. The work in the attic was done by The Fifth Fuel, a partnering company of HESS. Luis and his two colleagues did a great job. They spread plastic sheeting in any area that might be affected by dust or footprints, and they did a good job cleaning up when they were done. (But be realistic, you'll still do a little vacuuming.) After the work was done, the team did another blower-door test to show me the improved leakage numbers. I'm looking forward to a more comfortable house and lower energy bills. In conclusion, I would gladly recommend HESS to anyone.

    Prudent Homes
David and his team were phenomenal. They were responsive, punctual, and extremely professional. The only access point to our attic is through my 1 year old daughters nursery. David taped up and sealed everything to protect the nursery as if it was his own child. We received quotes from a few other providers. While the amounts were similar, the scope of work that David provided was far beyond the others. The other companies offered to just add blown-in insulation over top of our existing 1950's insulation, whereas David pulled all the old rotting insulation, added sprayed foam on all surfaces, then followed with blow-in. I highly recommend using Prudent for any insulation work.

Everything was performed superbly. I like the lifetime warranty on everything. Their work is pricey but i guess it's worth the quality and warranty. If you can afford it, this company is the way to go. Every step of the projects was well coordinated

    Adelphia Exteriors
I am very happy with the service provided by Adelphia Exteriors, for the following reasons: the proprietors were responsive and friendly; the price was very competitive, the work was expedited at no expense to accommodate our tight schedule, and finally the quality of work was excellent. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing their house interior painted.

The work was performed professionally and on schedule. Irvin did a great job during installation. Shayne performed a thorough review and diagnosed the problem. I was concerned that given the cost, I was being sold something I didn't need. My house was humid and my floor boards were warping.

    Max Insulation
Hopefully, youll read this review and not use this company. The best I can do is share the negative and unprofessional experience I had and then you can decide for yourself. Timeline and details of my experience: 11/10 called Max to request a quote. Max didnt offer to come out to the home to check out the scope of work himself; instead, he requested I provide him everything, such as square footage and pictures. At his request, I provide pictures of the space through text but not the square footage since I was away from my home. 11/12 Additional pictures and square footage were provided to Max via text. He then says he will write up a proposal and provide it the next day. 11/13 Max doesnt provide a written proposal as promised. He does however; provide a quote of $950 via text for spraying closed foam over 2 walls. Max still says he needs to provide a written proposal. 11/14 I follow-up by email with Max, requesting the written proposal. He responds saying he will send it. Tim, his scheduler, then emails me offering up 11/28 for the date to complete the work. 11/15 I call and email Tim, confirming the 11/28 time and ask questions about logistics. Tim responds saying he needs pictures and square footage. This information had already been provided to Max on 11/12 (sign of a clear disconnect here between Max and his scheduler). Nonetheless, I again provide the same information once again. I also ask if Max Insulation is bonded and insured to which I never get an answer. Tim ignores my bond/insurance questions but says Max is working on the proposal and he will send it over once its ready. However, I never receive a proposal. 11/16 I call Tim to ask some questions; Max then calls me back trying to answer my questions about the scope of work. These were just basic questions about reframing which they dont do. They are strictly an insulation company and thats it. I work this out with a separate company to ensure the walls are ready to be sprayed before their arrival. 11/20/17 I follow-up again to ask about the written proposal. Max says its on his to do list and that he hasnt forgotten. On this day I check on the possibility of changing my scheduled date but stick to my booking date of 11/28 since they have other conflicts. 11/21/17 I receive an email from Tim saying that Max is finishing up my proposal and I will have it shortly. Never receive anything. Tim also states that he will confirm the 11/28 date the same day, and never does. 11/24 Call and voicemail made to Tim regarding follow-up on the proposal and confirming the 11/28 time. 11/26 I send a follow-up text to Max and email to both Max and Tim about confirming the 11/28 arrival time and the proposal. I get an out of office response from Tim saying he isnt back until 11/28, the day, the work is supposed to be performed. Max calls me back to state that the work has changed a couple of times and that he is not planning to come out to do the work. He also says it was just 1 wall of work which was never the case and I have emails and text messages to prove it. He then says he was unsure about the square footage and pictures, which were all things that could have been avoided had he come out to provide a quote or taken the time to review the scope of my work in detail, or if he had put a proposal together to begin with. Also, why would you say that you didnt know basic square footage and understand pictures when youve had that information for over 2 weeks? Why would you wait 2 days before the start of work to get this ironed out? Result: Max never planned on coming out to do work at my house. He wasted my time for over 2 weeks (16 days). Max and his scheduler, Tim, dont have a grasp on their schedule or care for attention to detail (proposal was never provided and simple questions on insurance were never answered). Theres a huge disconnect between Max and Tim. They dont seem to communicate. Had I not been the one to reach out on 11/26, I would have been stood up the day the work was supposed to be performed. If youre the type of customer who likes to be performing follow-up, wasting time, and being promised work that will never happen, then be my guest and use these guys. Basically, you should plan on measuring your own space and providing pictures. These are basic things that most professional companies come out and do without issue but I guess my job wasnt up their alley. I found this to be inconvenient and not the best or most accurate way to provide a customer with an estimate. It also caused confusion which could have been avoided had they just come out and seen the scope of work themselves. This should have been the first red flag to run and a sign the lack of interest in doing the work. Getting verbal quotes can also be dangerous for consumers as companies can overprice quotes using this method. I can report back on this when I get estimates from more reputable companies and let you know how his pricing aligns with the rest of this area. My time and money were wasted. I had a separate contractor scheduled (down payment paid) to begin work after the insulation work by Max Insulation was performed, however, I now have to reschedule everything as a result of this inconvenience. Max Insulation has no care or regard for following up, paying attention to details, or sticking to schedules. Very unprofessional company; beware and dont use them. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and hopefully this review saves someone valuable time and money. The way they handle their customer service says a lot to me about how they handle their company and services. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
