    Lakewood Home Builders Inc
With confidence, we have recommended Tim Johnson with Lakewood Builders to our family and friends. We have been very happy with the many other projects he has done for us and the garage he built for us turned out perfectly with all of the smaller details taken care very nicely. Our neighbors love the colors he helped us select. Tim really knows what he is doing a true quality builder. We were never disappointed from the first day forward. Every professional involved in building our garage was dedicated to quality. Tim Johnson, always would keep us informed every step of the way. We look forward to another quality project with Tim, and Lakewood Builders!

Did incredible work. I just bought the house and they literally started a day after the sale went through. In a month they had the basement totally renovated with flooring walls, ceiling, too wet bars oh, a totally new bathroom, and a laundry room. All changes were designed by Clint and managed by Steve and his crew come. I basically gave them the keys to the basement all month and let them run with it with only occasion calls for clarification. They were able to get the whole place renovated, painted, cleaned up, and permitted within a month. I've had issues in the past with other Angieslist referrals but these guys are the real deal. Thanks for the great work!

Literally the worst experience possible. Contracted with them to build the rough-in for a new basement bathroom. We had terrible communication from the project manager and extremely poor quality work completed. Project was expected to take 2 weeks. The project actually took 8 weeks. When going through a walk thru with the foreman, he told us they didnt use a level when building portions of the new bathtub enclosure which is why it was 1/2 crooked. They also tried to change our 30 dog shower to a 20 size without bothering to ask permission. Worst part was that we choose them because of the claims of working so clean. I was 7 months pregnant and getting more limited in mobility. They covered my entire basement in construction dust that was so bad, it broke our furnace. The carpet pad was so badly destroyed, they had to replace it. There was construction debris and cement dumped into our backyard. We negotiated with them to pay for a cleaning company to come in after and scrub up the incredible amount to dust and dirt that was EVERYWHERE since they didnt bother putting up plastic sheeting like they promised. Thank God we found another contractor that could fix all their mistakes. We will never work with them again.

I've used services from Lillard on many occasions and have always been 100% satisfied with the work they perform. They always keep you informed of all phases of a project. All the employees from the very top are completely professional, friendly, and accommodating. In terms of the cost, I do not think you can do better and get the outstanding results that they provide.

We highly recommend Joe Cox as a handyman. We couldnt be happier with his work. Not only does he do excellent work, but hes extremely clever in coming up with solutions to just about any problem. Added to all that, hes very pleasant and hard working.

The work itself was fine - professional and well executed. However, it was more complicated than I anticipated and thus was 3 times as expensive as I expensive. I had described the project in detail to Tracy when I made the appointment. And while I realize that she may not have all the knowledge to estimate complexity and timing, neither do I! It would be very helpful for the company to have a better way to estimate complexity and costs so there are no big surprises.

We were very pleased with the result. This was a large job that took a concrete basement and completely finished it, including adding a bath, gym, office space, bar area, and large family/rec room. The costs were consistent with the estimates and Cyrus was reasonable about several minor changes made over the course of construction. It took slightly longer than the original schedule to complete, but Cyrus worked very hard to accommodate our "beneficial occupancy" needs - and succeeded. Notably, any problems or defects were corrected quickly and without disagreement. The quality and craftsmanship of the work were excellent.

There staff was really attentive and responded to my inquiry immediately, which was great. Russell Blake was the project manager who came by to give me an estimate and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the whole process step by step, gave me accurate numbers and pricing. From the beginning I felt like i could trust the team with getting the work done efficiently all while keeping my time, money and preferences all in mind.

Outstanding job. Jose is punctual, responsive, conscientious, and smart. He is highly detail-oriented. He is very good at communicating so he makes sure he understands what you are looking for and then he executes it. His crew is also very good--polite and conscientious. Even when Jose is not on site he is always in contact with his guys. Any significant project will have unexpected things come up once the work starts, and Jose is great about addressing those kinds of issues. He is %110 honest and reliable. And the work he does is stunning---excellent cabinetry work, wood work, tile, and especially lighting. Jose had great ideas and is very cost-conscious. Really can't recommend him enough.

The work was completed quickly, in about 2 weeks. It was split into two main phases, 1) demo of the wall, building the railing, and repairing and painting the bedrooms and 2) refinishing the floors. We worked with Christopher to put together an estimate and some ideas for what to expect, because we weren't sure whether there was anything behind the wall to demo or what shape the floors were in under the carpet. He also suggested some new doors to replace the one that opened the "wrong" way. We ended up using the screen door he recommended and finding our own off the shelf HD door, because of our time constraints for the front door and didn't want to wait 4-6 weeks for a custom order. Christopher and Jesus did the majority of the work and they were very good about keeping the dust down by putting up plastic and protecting our hardwood floors. They cleaned up every day, including vacuuming. The wall ended up not being load bearing and only having electrical (light switch) we already knew about. Christopher realized that we needed to move our other switches that could not be behind the front door once we flipped it, so they moved it all to one electrical box on the correct side of the door. I worked with a Christopher to find a good post and railing, because I didn't like the typical round posts, and wanted squared ones. They also came up with a solution to make the railing work with our old plasterboard walls, which were uneven by 3/4-inch or so. They ended up using some trim to blend in railing to the wall. With refinishing the steps we ran into a bit of a problem. We knew we needed two new steps, because they had been cut to fit around the old door frame. Unfortunately, two other steps were damaged due to age and had to be replaced, which was an additional cost (we were aware of the possibility). The steps were made of heart pine, which would be a custom order, if they could find it. Christopher suggested a few options, which was to use pine step replacements that would have a slightly different grain or cap the old treads with oak (much more expensive). We were staining a dark color, so we decided to go with a different grain of pine, and it looks good. You can see a difference, but it blended in well enough that people didn't notice until we pointed it out. They stayed late and came on the weekend, with our permission, to make sure the floor guys could come the next Monday. We didn't want to delay either, so we thought that was great. Christopher even brought in a painting crew at his cost to get things done quicker. They replaced 4 lift fixtures as well, one which wasn't really part of the contact, but they did it anyway. I think the floor guys were technically subcontractors. The floor guys worked quickly and were able to make a custom match to our existing floor where the door was removed and a new piece of wood was needed. The rest of the floors were an existing stain, but close enough that the difference isn't noticeable between the levels of our house. We stayed for the sanding and stain, but moved out for 2 nights when they put down polyurethane. It was strong, but not as bad as expected, even though I was pregnant. The floors look great. Once that was done, Christopher came to do the walk through for touch ups and Jesus stayed to do the last bits of work. We'd definitely consider them again for future work. Christopher and Jesus were both prompt, friendly, and had workers. Christopher responded quickly when we had questions and usually gave us options when we weren't sure about what to do. I talked with Christopher about some other work we were considering and he had some ideas that we liked. We're waiting on those until the baby is a little older.
