    BMW was one of the most honest companies to work with regarding water drainage issues. They not only provided the best quote of all the contractors I compared, their work was done well and our basement has been dry ever since. Their work was also done very cleanly -they covered everything in the basement before starting work and made sure everything was left clean after finishing. I would highly recommend BMW. My only small quip is that response times and timing can be a little slow. But they are a busy company and get a lot of business, so I could see why.

    Absolutely delighted with the outcome-the backyard looks wonderful; the creek beds are attractively laid out; downspouts exit underground at the creek beds; the crew was respectful of all the plants and replanted those that needed to be moved.     Everyone I interacted with was friendly , professional and efficient. George the estimator and salesman was very professional with over 30 years of experience. He described the work process and explained what we needed to do to help make space for the work to proceed efficiently. We indicated we would move everything except laundry sink, washer and dryer. We were lucky to have space in their schedule the following week which helped us decide to use them. I did request references which I called and the references were positive. I also requested being named as ���additional insured��� on their certificate of insurance which they happily did. Their foreman Shane, called confirming his start time and he first setup dust partitions, explained what he was about to do and began jack hammering to breakup the concrete floor. The general foreman Larry inspected the work the following day and encouraged me to inspect with him and answer any questions I might have. Overall project took 4-days. One note of caution do not expect any drywall replacement or reinstalling carpet as the concrete floor patch needs days to cure before replacing coverings and any legged shelving-being placed on the surface. Expect broom clean by the contractor but final vacuum and damp mopping by house owner.

    Did incredible work. I just bought the house and they literally started a day after the sale went through. In a month they had the basement totally renovated with flooring walls, ceiling, too wet bars oh, a totally new bathroom, and a laundry room. All changes were designed by Clint and managed by Steve and his crew come. I basically gave them the keys to the basement all month and let them run with it with only occasion calls for clarification. They were able to get the whole place renovated, painted, cleaned up, and permitted within a month. I've had issues in the past with other Angieslist referrals but these guys are the real deal. Thanks for the great work!

We ended up having them perform the work which was very convenient and I didn't have to worry about screening another company.     I was pleased with the service. They first had an engineer come out to look at the crack and check my sump pump and drain system. This relieved my anxiety about the problem after he explained this is a common problem that they come across. He recommended epoxy injecting the crack. This was almost a year ago and I haven't had any issues since! A+!

    We hired SES to address moisture and mold issues in our two crawl spaces. Overall, I am happy with the service received and the final product, though I note that there were a few scheduling hiccups along the way. INITIAL APPOINTMENT/SCOPE OF WORK Scheduling the initial appointment was easy. The SES representative was on time, knowledgeable, spent a good amount of time examining our two crawl spaces, and explained the options to us in understandable terms. He recommended crawl space encapsulation, a dehumidifer, sealing the vents and rim joist with spray foam, insulating the walls with foam board, removing our old/moldy fiberglass insulation, and mold treatment. We chose SES -- despite being the 2nd most expensive quote we got of 4 quotes received -- because they offered the most comprehensive service for our needs (including mold removal/treatment). I did not feel that SES used aggressive sales tactics or tried to push anything that I did not need (which I heard was somewhat common in the basement waterproofing industry). SCHEDULING & INSTALLATION SES estimated 3 days for the job and was able to schedule a crew to perform the work within 1.5 months (despite significant rains in the NoVA area). The night before the appointment, I received an email saying there would be a one-day delay because the crew had to finish a prior job. This was understandable, but if the job had taken the full 3 estimated days, I would have had to change my work schedule to make it work (it all worked out but I note it since this could be a drawback for others who do not have flexibility on dates / work without much advanced notice). The installation itself was smooth. The 3-man crew was timely, courteous, very professional, and cleaned up after work on each day. They completed everything in 2 days (instead of the projected 3 days). SES then had to schedule an electrician to come out to do the electrical work necessary to complete the dehumidifer installation. There was a minor hiccup here in that SES scheduled the electrician without first communicating with me about the date. I found out about the appointment only when I called SES of my own accord to ask when they were planning to send the electrician (since I had not heard from them about a date). Fortunately, I was able to work from home to make the appointment work, but communication could have been a bit clearer. FOLLOW-UP I was impressed with SES's follow-up. An SES representative came back to my house a month after the installation -- as he promised -- to follow up and check on the humidity levels in my crawl spaces. At that point, we decided to do additional work and install a dehumidifer in our second crawl space as well. This required drilling a hole in the foundation wall and installation of an electrical outlet. Here, again, though, there was a minor hiccup on scheduling the work. SES scheduled an electrician to come out, but when he arrived, he realized he was not insured to drill the hole necessary for installing the electrical outlet. This meant SES then had to schedule another date/time for someone else to first come drill the hole, and then another date/time for the electrician to come back. Luckily, I had family in town staying with me and thus some flexibility as to scheduling. But again, communication could have been clearer and prevented the hiccup. That said, SES accommodated me when I had to switch the date of installation of the additional dehumidifer, and the installation itself went off without a hitch. I am also very happy with the professionalism of the installation crew that came out to install the second dehumidifer. As for whether all of this work solves my moisture & mold problems, I am cautiously optimistic. It all looks very good, and the dehumidifers are humming away. I'll have to wait for the next rainy season to see.

    We first contacted DES in early August 2018 based on the positive Angie���s List reviews we read (and seeing that most negative reviews were due to unresponsiveness), we should have relied more heavily upon the negative reviews. The administrative assistant who schedules the consultants was very responsive, indicating there was a 4-5 wait for an appointment, which was fine for us as the work we needed done as not an emergency. The appointment was scheduled for September 11 and the consultant arrived on time, was friendly and seemed knowledgeable, and spent a fair bit of time walking around our property with us to discuss the issues and what we wanted done. All seemed promising to us, but that was where it ended. We were told we could have an estimate early the following the week. After 10 days, on Sept 19, we checked back in to inquire about the estimate. The administrative assistant responded almost immediately telling us that the consultant had run into an emergency so was delayed in getting quotes out and that a supervisor was stepping up to help out. Understandable. We received a quote approximately one week after that (Sept. 27) from the consultant. However, the quote lacked detail and did not address some of the issues we had discussed which made us concerned that the estimate might be on the low side and if we engaged DES we would end up paying a lot more. So we followed up with the consultant by email on October 3, about week after receiving the estimate to discuss its gaps and also as questions to better compare it to another service provider���s estimate. However, we never heard another word from DES after receiving the quote, despite multiple emails to the consultant himself as well as to the administrative assistant. We were very disappointed because we thought this firm would do a good job based on our interaction with the consultant and being told that David Arias was going to help with the quote when the consultant was backlogged, but their utter lack of responsiveness demonstrates a lack of respect and that they likely do not care about their customers very much. What angers me the most is the wasted time. I wouldn���t have taken off work to meet with the consultant, I wouldn���t have waited on hiring on of the other service providers who did provide timely responses and answers to questions. So my warning to others, don���t waste your time with this company, as they won���t waste their time with you.
