    Go anywhere but here. I have a sick cat. I also had a crazy week and so I cancelled a weekend trip so I could bring him to the APPOINTMENT I made for Saturday at 11 am. Then I arrived and was told my appointment had been Friday. I made the appointment Tuesday afternoon, June 19 and there is no way I would have scheduled anything for Friday since I am an attorney and had a hearing that day. And, what gives with no reminder call? At least then I might have not wasted a trip and dragged my poor cat out for nothing. Despite their mistake, then then refused to do anything to fit me in -- the best they could offer was a "maybe" at 2:30 pm, with no guarantee. DO NOT USE. THEY WILL MESS UP YOUR APPOINTMENT;. GO ELSEWHERE. They have real antiques in the waiting room, but apparently the don't put any of that money into paying literate or competent appointment schedulers.

    10 stars if I could! We have seen Dr. Chau for over six years now with three Boxers, one who she treated until her time to go to Rainbow Bridge. We have been pet owners for thirty years, and Dr. Chau has been the best vet of all and the other support staff are all wonderful to work with as well. I refer to Dr. Chau as the "Queen of Diagnoses" as she truly has a gift. She cares for her patients and takes plenty of time with their owners. She is also very responsive with email follow-up questions and has gone above and beyond for me and for friends after hours. She has shared other vendor choices for lower cost prescriptions for which we appreciate. And most importantly, our dogs love her too and would follow Dr. Chau anywhere (demoting me) LOL! We trust Dr. Chau 100%.

    They were great! I called because the puppy had fallen out of my arms and hit his head on the cement, but I also needed an initial checkup on him and the 4 year old. The practice fit me in the same day I called, and when I arrived the vet was waiting for us and took us right back and performed a thorough examination. Any vaccinations were taken care of, and tests run. Everything was fine and I was extremely happy with the service provided.

    I've been so please with them. He has called us at 9 at night for results and let us know what else is going on and what we need to do. He responds quickly when we have questions. His treatment is working. He must be very gentle because she likes him. He's wonderful but very expensive. 

    He explains everything thoroughly. He shows us pictures and has a plan.

    They are super. I take my beagle up there. Their pricing is good, responsiveness is good, professionalism is good. They don’t hire people unless the people they hire love animals. That is obvious when you go there.

    The waiting room was full of barking dogs when we arrived, which freaked out my cat. Even though they have 2 areas to separate the species, everyone has to sign in right in front of the cat area. Someone's dog defecated in the entryway (owner totally oblivious), and it took over 5 minutes to get someone to clean it up. I had an appointment, but waited more than 15 minutes. The vet who saw my cat, while very nice, was young and inexperienced. She did not even check my cat's teeth until I asked her to.

    Very well. The vet took her time and thoroughly examined the dog. Explained the different shots and tests available. She really got to know the dog. Even sat on the floor with the dog! We spread the shots out over three visits because the dog was a rescue and we were not sure how she would respond. We also live close to the vet so it's a quick trip. The only complaint I had is on the first follow-up visit it took about 30 minutes to get the shots. The second and last follow-up visit we were in and out in 10 minutes.

    Have you ever wondered if your Veterinarian was overcharging you and over treating your pet? At Aldie Vet/Dulles South, you can know. We brought our 11 month old puppy in after an evening of vomiting, suspecting she might have found an ibuprofen or two on the floor. Diagnostics came to nearly 1,200 thanks to two unnecessary (and expensive!) xrays. Dr. Barnes told us that the puppy's blood tests came back elevated and she suspected we were correct about the ibuprofen ingestion. Per their estimate, diagnostics and treatment would run us 4000. When we expressed that we couldn't afford that, she said we could get a credit card or we could EUTHANIZE THE PUPPY. No lesser treatment plans or alternatives were discussed with us. It was pay for the treatment plan as laid out, or the dog dies. Because the cost was so far outside our budget, we almost euthanized our puppy, but in the end we couldn't and chose to go into debt. The puppy ended up being there for slightly less than 48 hours. When we went to pick her up, the vet tech said HER KIDNEY VALUES WERE NEVER ABNORMAL so maybe she didn't eat the ibuprofen after all. Huh? How is that possible when we were led to believe she could die any time? We almost euthanized her and she was never that sick! Even though she was there a full day less than estimated, our total was more than the estimate. I imagine this is because they saw the estimate as a "blank check" from us, so when Poison Control told them she would need less care, they made up the difference with expensive, unnecessary treatments. Most infuriatingly, they give her a feeding tube to administer medication that came in pill form. This involved sedating her, putting in the tube, and taking xrays. They had to do it twice because it was so irritating to the puppy that she ripped it out. This raised our cost 800 and literally the only reason for it was because no one in the whole facility could get her to swallow a pill. They sent us home with the remainder of the pills and I was able to get her to swallow them 21 times with no trouble at all. They also gave her expensive, redundant medicines that were not recommended by poison control, and sedated her every single time they had to interact with her for anything even though all their notes say she wasn't aggressive. All told there were over 1000$ in completely unnecessary charges on our bill which doesn't even include all the time she spent there being "treated" after she was already well. All of this, and she was never even actually in kidney failure and the vet should have known that with the small amount of ibuprofen she may have ingested, she wasn't in dire straights. As for those alternate treatment plans that supposedly didn't exist? We probably could have given her fluids for 12 hours, rechecked her blood (it was fine after that point), and she could have come home. Everything they did for the next 36 hours was profit and torture.

    My animals actually like them. You go to some vets and your animals don't want to go in. This vet, they like to go in. This is a farm vet, and we've always gone to town vets because we've always lived in town till we moved here, but this farm vet seems a little better with the animals than the city vet and I don't really know why. Maybe they have a bigger variety of animals they see and get more exposure to different things. We walked in one day and there was llamas. There was a camel one day. Llamas, camels, cows, horses regularly and sheep and goat and chickens.

    We have a very old dog that has been not been doing well. We were very frustrated with our previous vet and decided to switch to Dr Hanh Chau based upon recommendations. We were in her office for nearly 2 hours which she spent at least 90% of that time with our dog. She was very thorough. I never felt rushed and I could see that she truly cared about our dog.
