    Integrated Dermatology
not really good , I was in extreme pain , due to the needle they put into my THUMB, I wonder if they could have numbed up my arm instead ,
the biggest issue was getting the lab results , it took 8 days and about 6 phone calls and many minutes on hold
this used to be DR. HORNs place but he has retired

    Gurney, Dr. Robert W.
So far I'm very pleased with my experience in Dr. Gurney's office. I called to schedule an appointment because I liked that he doesn't use Physician's Assistants but instead sees patients himself. I had a bad experience at another dermatologist's practice with a P.A. who blew me off.
The front desk scheduled me in within a couple days of my call. Dr. Gurney was very punctual and professional and caring. He looked at my skin and told me that it was in fact burned, but reassured me that I didn't do any irreversible damage. He prescribed a corticosteroid cream to help heal my skin. His bedside manner was great. I felt like I was being treated by a true doctor: professional, compassionate, and well educated. I would highly recommend!

    Fair Oaks Skin Care Center
This practice is probably good for things like annual skin exams.
However, based on my experience I would not recommend this practice. I scalded my skin on my scalp and face and scheduled an appointment for a skin exam to assess the damage and recommend treatment. The doctors book up way in advance so I was booked with a Physician's Assistant instead. She was very punctual. I told the nurse why I was there and it was conveyed to the P.A. However, when the P.A. came to see me she did a skin exam on my moles, casually glanced at my face and scalp and said "maybe you're just sensitive." IT felt very rushed and a bit like I was being blown off. The nurse seemed a bit more concerned / compassionate but didn't get involved.
I went to another dermatologist's office recommended through Angie's List and saw an actual doctor a week later who looked at my skin and said yes, in fact it was burned and needed treatment. He was much more professional, educated, and communicative. I will not being going back to Fair Oaks Skin Care Center. I will go to the other dermatologist instead.

    Brenda, Dr. Dintiman
She's great. She is very thorough, very patient friendly and she knows exactly what to do. She did it very efficiently and her prices were reasonable. She did a whole body check on me in addition to the work I wanted her to do and she was great. The environment was good, everybody was friendly, everybody put me at ease and told me what was going to happen before they did everything. It was very helpful and much appreciated, not all doctors do that. I would recommend her to anybody who asks me.

I absolutely love Dr. Gonzalez. She was prompt, clear and professional. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze. At check-in the front desk lady was a bit short - definitely not friendly - but was very efficient. The assistant was friendly and took the time to go over my needs. Dr. Gonzalez made her recommendation and did the treatment on the spot.
Be aware that the practice's name has changed to Integrated Dermatology of 19th Street and their office has moved across the street to 1145 19th Street, NW.
I was very impressed and will be back.

    Gurney, Dr. Robert W.
I called the office in the morning.  They were nice enough to accommodate me on the same day.  Dr. Robert reviewed my situation and answered all questions related to Poison Ivy and other unrelated questions.  The prescribed cream and pill got rid of poison ivy in one week.

    Syed Amiry DO
I wanted a skin cancer screening, so I used ZocDoc to schedule an appointment with Dr. Amiry. I chose him because he was one of the only dermatologists in my area that had an appointment convenient for me. As some other reviews suggested, this practice seems much more into skin care procedures than skin cancer screenings. I was dissatisfied with Dr. Amiry. He made a less than professional remark about skin cancer that I found to be extremely rude and insulting. Anyhow, the only reason I'm giving him two stars is that he seemed to look somewhat carefully at my skin for the check-up. However, his assistant wrote down Dr. Amiry's details/description of my skin but I wasn't given a copy of this information. Seems kinda pointless to me. Also, I was led to believe that he accepted my insurance, only to be billed later on stating that the practice is out of network. I won't be back.

    Rivera, Dr. Michelle A.
Succinctly, I believe that Dr. Rivera has saved my life several times over the past few years. She is efficient, professional and incredibly expert. She has a keen eye for detecting potential skin problems. I cannot say enough about her expertise. Her office staff is professional and efficient. The only negative that I have encountered is on occasion I have had to wait 30-45 minutes (for later afternoon appointments); and, yet as I told a relative, I believe that this is a small price to pay for having my life saved. I cannot say enough about her practice and especially her keen medical skills.

    Nandedkar-Thomas, Dr. Maithily A.
The office environment is terrific - really one of the best I've seen anywhere. Getting an initial appointment was quick and easy. Dr. N has a great manner - very friendly and open, explained what she was seeing during a skin check, provided a written summary, and even did some minor surgery right on the spot, something my former doc would have pushed off to a different appointment with an associate. Completely not rushed - I really felt I was in good hands. Her medical assistants were very sharp, helpful, and did a great job as well. Overall, I wish I'd found Dr. N years ago - excellent practice.

    Kazakis, Dr. Alexandra M.
Dr. K gave me appropriate medications to treat both skin conditions and they are now under control. She gave me instructions on lifestyle changes to lessen the chances of flare ups, ie. limit sun exposure, avoid certain foods and skin products, overheating.
She told me to call her with any concerns I may have before my next appt. She also checked my head and neck areas for skin cancers.
