    Neurology Center of Fairfax
Medically the test was excellent. The front office staff gets poor remarks. I was overcharged for my copay,. I was told that refunds are only processed once a month, so I am going to have to wait 2 months for a refund. Note that FAIRFAX Radiology gave me a refund in 2 weeks. If follow on visits are required, I am going to think twice about going back.

    Kurtzke, Dr. Robert N
The person who answered the phone said that she would need the Dr who referred us information who they can send a report to them. I told them I don't have that information that I would bring the discharge papers at the time of visit. She then began to tell me that she would be unable to scheudle the appointment without that information. I have never heard that I can not just give the information at the time of visit. I then told thank you and I would find another neurologist that would allow me to bring the information at the time of visit.

The person she was to see must have been on a lunch break, because we sat there for an 1hr. She walked past us 5 different times. The meeting was with this person went well, i do believe that sometimes they over exaggerate some things. You say one thing and they go with that one thing and try to make it 10x worse.

I saw Dr. Seestadt at this office several times. After my initial appt., he gave me a prescription for pain - this threw me into terrible agitation and depression. I weaned myself off of it and ended up finding something myself online that ended up working amazingly well for my neuropathy. Dr. Seestadt does not have good and quot;bedside mannersand quot;. Each time he walks into the exam room to initially see me, he comes in talking extremely loudly - very annoying. Then, he seems to be only interested in what he has to say, not what the patient is trying to tell him ... about symptoms, for example. He seems to think patients are beneath him. A couple of times, when I was trying to explain how I was feeling or asking him questions, he acted very distracted - kept looking at his watch and waving his hand as though he wanted me to talk faster. My last visit with him was to go over the results of my MRI. He told me in pretty good detail what was discovered, which I appreciated. But then he just referred me to physical therapy, as though that was all I needed. The MRI showed I have a compressed spinal column, several bulging discs, etc. I was disappointed to have Dr. Seestadt act as though physical therapy was all that could be done for me. If I end up going back to the Neurology Ctr. of Fairfax, I'm going to ask for another neurologist. I don't recommend Dr. Seestadt.

Our social worker was wonderful! He has a very approachable and calming manner. Through him, we learned what each other really wanted, what our individual concerns were, and the best way to problem solve. I do not have enough kind words for this man! His office gave us a safe place to vent our concerns and feelings in a relaxed atmosphere. The three of us (all very different personalities) have benefited greatly from this experience and our home life is much more harmonious. I am so glad that we went!

    Jan Raynak MD
I have been going to Dr. Raynak for over a year and would continue to do so if I hadn't recently moved out of town.  He is a very good listener and he knows his stuff.  I have gone through many different medications for depression, with varying results and side effects, and he was the first person to come up with a solution that really worked for me.  Every other doctors I talked to seemed confused by me, but he immediately pulled out a cheat sheet he had made to show me a list that matched my symptoms and what kind of medicine goes with it.  Needless to say, I was impressed.  At this point, I can say that medicine has been working well for me for over a year.  He is interesting and fun to talk to and is willing to help you tackle any problem that arises.  I started out going to him for depression and fatigue and ended up having him help me with relationship issues.  He is very versatile.
The only negative things I can say are about the office organization.  When I first started coming, there was a full time receptionist who was excellent at taking calls and making appointments.  Over time, the receptionist presence has decreased and in the past few months disappeared completely, making it difficult to get an appointment.  They have an answering service that's accessible any time, but it's a toss up as to when you might get a call back.  He is an excellent psychiatrist, but you shouldn't expect to be able to call and make an appointment for only a couple days in the future.  That said, when you do get a call back, they are very willing to work with you to find a good time.  It just might take a while.

    Albert Galdi MD
Dr Galdi seems very thorough and knowledgeable. He gave my brother a thorough examination and asked him a lot of questions. He is keeping my brother on a closely watched medication plan. His bedside manner could be a little better but as far as his abilities go, he is top notch. Also, I find it strange that we need to call in to get blood lab test results; normally doctors' offices will tell you that they will call you to give results (at least if result is abnormal). Overall though, I highly recommend him.

So far, so good. Our son (age 5) is happy to go there, so the bedside manner when a parent is not in the room must be pretty good. Just now getting to discussion of treatment, so we'll update this review when able.

I've seen Dr. Plescia for over 2 years and my husband has been going to him for over 8. He is a great doctor. He listens and takes his time with his patients, as I've never felt rushed through an appoinment. He's always thorough and answers all my questions. He's willing to talk about anything, make recommendations, and address any concerns. He's not difficult to make an appointment either, even when he's busy. He always finds a way to squeeze me in. There are also many other doctors that are available when he is not. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor that goes above and beyond for his patients.

    Bryan, Dr. Candace V.
My visits with Dr. Bryan are always excellent. She is patient, inquisitive, and friendly in addition to being very knowledgeable and extremely intelligent. It's very refreshing and reassuring to work with her. I'm feeling much better and I've referred other family members to her as well-- always getting the same positive feedback. She is booked up pretty tightly, but if you have questions in between appointments, she always takes the time to have her nurse respond to them promptly and thoroughly if she cannot respond directly.
On the arrogance scale, neurologists are typically at the top, but she is a great listener and really works with her patients.
