Home Warranty reviews in Fairfax Station

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Of all the contractors and other service providers we have worked with as homeowners over the course of some ten years, this company is possibly our least favorite.
The process of purchasing the home warranty (which was paid for by the seller) was smooth, as we recall. The website struck us as elegant and user-friendly.
Having the warranty turned out to be of no benefit to us and turned into a waste of time.
A couple of things broke during the term of the contract. Each time we were told that the warranty would not cover anything. The reasons offered seemed to us weird, and in our opinion the customer-service agents and managers we spoke to were unpleasant and condescending.
Factoring in the time we spent on the phone with this company, and the zero benefits we derived from the warranty, we would have been better off without it.

  • POR QUALITY, POOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, POWER SERVICE...TO THE POINT OF FRAUD.  AHS stated that the HVAC system needed to be replaced and that it would cost us $1,850.  Heat and AC systems are covered by our policy, but the AHS representative stated that the filter box, connecting the duct work back to the air handler unit and the air box are considered modifications requiring the home owner to pay.--even thou our policy states that the air ducts, box, and connections are covered under our policy, the supervisor continued to state that AHS considers these as modifications.  AHS is paying $1,300 for  new system and the homeowner pays $1,850 to connect it and for the removal of the old system...all of which was supposedly covered by our contract.

  • At first, they were very responsive.

We had them come out because the garage door opener broke. They were somewhat responsive for that. It took a couple times of trying to get them to come out. I had to make several calls to get them to come out.

We didn't need them for a while and then I found out they went out of business in April. They did not bother to contact us about them going out of business.

My A/C unit was having issues so I have had to call several other people to fix our A/C unit. It has cost around $600 instead of American Masters to honor their contract where we pay $100 for the service call.
