    Panther Construction, Inc.
When we started the job with Panther Construction, the understanding is that they would re-tile and put a new shower head. We asked once they were done, if they could reuse the glass door and glass pane. When they finished the tiling, they tried to put the glass door back, but with the new duroc and tile, the glass door was too big. So Panther Construction completed the work, but we couldn't use the shower until another company we hired completed the new glass door install. We finally are able to use the shower, but now the shower head is constantly leaking, and it is about 1gallon of water every 6-7hours. I have sent a message over Angies List and sent text directly to Panther Construction people and we scheduled an appointment, but they did not show up. I sent them another text asking when somebody from their company will come out, but no response. I can not wait, since it is a lot of water that is being wasted, so I have to get another plumber to come out and fix the leak, which is even more money then I expected to pay for the shower renovation.

    NOVA Contracting Inc
Excellent. Initially, we had R Walter Engineering review for the best approach. The pit was about 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide and had ground water in it. We then contacted Mr. G. Kunstbeck of Nova Contracting, Inc. in Vienna, VA. He reviewed the project along with Mr. Walter's recommendations. After signing the detailed contract, the work was completed as scheduled. Very pleased with NOVA Contracting, Inc, and plan to request their services on a future project.

    Silva Construction Group, Inc

Harol Silva was very professional and knowledgeable.  His proposal was detailed and clear.  His fee for work was as projected, with no hidden add ons.  He was prompt and neat, and the people he hires to work for him are equally capable and efficient.  They put in long hours and finished on deadline.  We worked with a designer, and Harol worked well with a designer who was new to him.  He and those in his company were able to see problems before they got far into the process (such as a toilet that was not the correct rough-in size) and were able to redirect us.  Our project consisted of removal of old bathroom in its entirety, and install of new plumbing, tub, fixtures, cabinetry, and countertop.  We also used this company for a very successful master bath project 1/2013 consisting of new tile flooring and new toilet.  We would use them again and recommend them to others.  Their pricing for our hall bath was $5,000 less than another estimate we received for equal work.

    Wall to Wall Construction, Inc
The work went well.  We were very satisfied with the work done by Angel and his team.  Much of the up front negotiation was handled while we were out of town and Angel was patient and made several visits to our house to help us confirm things in our absence, including helping to troubleshoot some initial design issues when we discovered that we might b able to reclaim some space behind one of the walls.  The design itself was more or less ours with Angel providing input on our ideas based on his experience.  Wall to Wall did all the work and provided the "contraction-related" materials.  We did the shopping ourselves for the finish materials (fixtures, tile, etc.) and cabinetry.  Whenever possible, Angel was able to place orders for us and he passed along his contractor discount.  There were a few hiccups along the way (I would expect no less on a big project like this), but Angel made each one right, when it was an issue his team caused, and was patient when delays occurred that were caused by materials we ordered arriving late or damaged.  The project did take longer than we had anticipated, but much of that was caused by our decision to source materials ourselves and trying to plan this remotely.  We had used Wall to Wall in the past for smaller jobs and been satisfied and that was a major factor in our decision to work with them on this larger project.  Angel is conscientious and customer-focused.  We will definitely consider them for any future work on our house.

Michael Nash Design Build & Homes
I had picked out everything and put down a hefty deposit by June of 2013. I was warned they would be busy, so they may not be able to start until September. Beginning in September it was one excuse after another, each time calling to delay another couple of weeks. A couple of delays were blamed on me...they could start the week of Thanksgiving but then we would not have the use of our bathroom and everything in the master bedroom would be covered with plastic sheeting for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The project start to finish was estimated at about 6 weeks. Only after I demanded my deposit back did they agree to start, which at this point was More than 6 months after I signed the contract and put down the deposit. After starting, there were constant delays where no one would show up for days. At one point they called on a day when it was lightly snowing and said they were able to work but assumed my driveway was covered in snow. After I explained we had installed heated coils under our driveway and it was completely clear and dry, they said that they actually couldn't work that day. During the time I was waiting for Michael Nash to start, I hired a different company to renovate another bathroom in our house and they did a marvelous job, started within a few days of what we had discussed, completed on time, and even made helpful suggestions along the way. There are quality companies out there that will handle your project in a professional manner, I just wouldn't pick Michael Nash based on my past experience.

    Abat Construction LLC
Overall it went well.  The majority of the work was done within two week.  Remaining work was done over the following couple of weeks.  I had used them to do a similar job plus renovate a kitchen and build entertainment center w/ storage.  Abat and crew did an excellent job.

    John Nugent & Sons Inc
Jonathan from John Nugent and Sons, Inc installed a new single lavatory faucet as a result of a bathroom renovation.  Due to the age of the home and pipes (built in the 1950's), this was not an easy task.  And it required minor under sink repair involving new materials.  We were very pleased with his professionalism and expertise and the fact that he ran the faucet looking for any issues.  We appreciate his attention to details -- and -- the fact that he wore protective foot coverings each time he entered our home.  This is the third time we have used John Nugent & Sons Inc this year and would not hesitate to use them again.

    Cyrus Construction LP
The Cyrus designer that we worked with, Marge,  was very accommodating in setting up the site visit.  She listened to our ideas and made several suggestions which we incorporated into the final design.  The architect, James, provided great 3D renditions of our space which made the design easy to visualize.  Both Marge and James were easy to work with and met with us on several different occasions.  We also got two other bids which were somewhat higher than Cyrus.  The design phase has gone well and we have selected Cyrus to do the revovation work

    Optima Kitchen & Bath
The service turned out fine. We ended up not using them for the remodeling part but they gave my husband some good designs. They seemed very professional in terms of providing my husband with a lot of good ideas. We just went with a more cost effective way. My husband is a typical picky male and so he did a lot of the work himself but they did a very good job. We really and truly do not have a need for their services right now but if we were to have a need for it, we would consider using them. We only have one kitchen and the last bathroom that needs to be done is just more of a rip out and replace thing and so we are not going to do any major redesigning.

    DMV Kitchen & Bath Inc
I noticed a picture/ad for was just what I wanted so I called and spoke with DMV and Ibrahim arrived (a day or two later) to see the bath and give me an estimate. Before agreeing (this was my second estimate), I called three references who all called me back and talked with me at length about the DMV crews and workmanship.   I agreed to sign, and we selected a date and the work began on time.  The crew that came were professional, friendly and easy to work with daily.  They covered the entrance way and walk to the bathroom, walled the area outside the bathroom with plastic (protect from dust).  This was the routine daily.  While the plan was for two weeks to completion, it took a bit longer for: delays in receiving ordered mirrors but mostly because of my scheduling issues. Ibrahim and I communicated on a regular basis via phone, text, or in person.  My selections changed as time would go on and Ibrahim was totally professional and accommodating. He even drove to get special selected ceramics in MD (I live in VA). While the crews changed, everyone was professional, polite,  and easy to work with.  I was concerned when one crew member would say they would take care of this or that the next all worked out. The crews communicated and everything happened as planned.  The sign of a good vendor is how changes/reworks (minor things) are handled.  I can say that everything was handled completely as we wanted. A few hints:  write down the names of the crew each day and what they were working on (tiles, painting etc.).  The crew would ask me for my choices on various placements (mirrors, handles, distance between faucets)...sometimes I asked what they would choose...and they told me. It was a good balance between advice and choice.  Also, I wrote anything that I asked for or they said was going to happen.  This made it easy to keep up with the various specialists/workmen (plumber, electrician, painters). I got to know nearly every one of the DMV crew...all good experiences.  The trash was taken away, a few spare tiles and paint cans remained  at my request/as per good contractors, reorder (of fan as an example) all handled well.  My bathroom looks wonderful and I already asked Ibrahim for another estimate for other items in my home.  That probably says it all!
