Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Dunn Loring

Overall outstanding experience. We needed to replace our original wood & masonite garage door that was 25+ years old, and a maintenance burden due to moisture intrusion and rot. We selected a new Clopay insulated steel door. The owner Joe provided a highly competitive bid in a very timely manner. Our installer Enoch was highly professional, on time and extremely competent in removing the old door & installing the new door. He made all of the connections to our existing electric opener and successfully tested the new door for safe and reliable operation.

Overhead Door Co of Washington DC

I called Monday morning at 7:30 AM for a garage door opener which had failed over the weekend.  I explained my situation that I found the gears had failed and needed a new opener.  I got an estimate over the phone and agreed to the install.  By 9:30 AM their technician James Green  was on site.  James installed a new opener, wired buttons and safety beams.  The previous wiring ran all over the garage and James' wiring is uniformed and neat.  James also follow up after himself and cleaned up all old parts to include running a magnet across the floor to find any hidden staples.

Service within 3 hours of making the call and up and running within 6 is very impressive.  Typically service providers want to come out an evaluate the situation, provide a quote and then schedule a appointment.  I loved the fact that I could do all this over the phone.  The service I received is what I expect, especially since I'm also a service provider and have high standards.

Nice job James and everyone at Overhead Door Co. of Washington D.C.

When I did, I was asked to provide three available dates/times for the service. I had assumed that I would get a call or e-mail confirming the date of service (since I provided three of them), but the guys just showed up... completely unannounced. They said that they just get the service info e-mailed to them and don't contact the customer before they arrive. Luckily, I was home taking care of a sick kid, but on any other Thursday, I wouldn't have been there. It ended up not being a big deal, and I'm very pleased with the service and the product. In hindsight, I think $499 is a bit much for the product and the service, but at the time, I just wanted it done. If I wasn't in such a rush, I would have shopped around more.

Pedro is a very skilled professional and he is a man of his words. He came over to give me a quote on repairing my two doors and was able to offer me a great deal. I saved a lot of money by following his suggestions and was able to have the work completed in 1/10 of the time and cost the other contractors were estimating. He was very honest and cares very much about his clientele. I will not hesitate to hire him for any future garage door services as he was able to also help out my neighbor's garage door issues. He was a pleasure to deal with and goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied with his workmanship.

The company gave us a break on labor, since we had them stop by a few months earlier to replace a broken spring on the door. In this latest case the door had been refusing to close, first intermittently and then all the time. Only holding the button down on the direct switch allowed the mechanism to override the safety feature. The repairman correctly guessed the reason right off the bat, but then took a few minutes more to run some common sense diagnostics to be sure. He arrived promptly at 7 AM and was gone by 8 AM.

    Andrew's Garage Door Repair LLC
I called Andrew on 12/26, the day after Christmas and during a sleet/snow/rain event .  He said he could come the next day unless it was an emergency.  Although I would have liked to have it fixed that day, I had other plans and so the next day suited me better also.  He wound up being a little late, but someone called to let me know.  It wasn't a problem and I appreciated the heads up on the arrival time.  When  he got here he told me he had been sick for a few days and had to drag himself out of bed.
The repair was quick and easy and he noted other potential problems with the system, but told me to just call me if problems developed. (I had the system tuned up last spring by another company, which I could have called to come back, but I wasn't happy enough with them to call them again and really didn't think their previous work was warrantied in any way.)
Andrew quoted a price of $120 which I thought was high considering it had taken about 5 minutes and a hammer to do the repair.  Still, you pay for a service call one way or the other.  I mentioned the Angie's List discount, which he said was 5% and I argued that I thought it was 10.  I hadn't bothered to print the coupon.  He ok'd that and let me do the math and I gave him $94.  I wound up accidentally cheating him in two ways because he was right, the discount was only 5%, and I did the math wrong.  I tried to tip him, but he refused.
I really liked this guy and may well need to call him back for some garage door tweaking in the spring.  I asked if the garage door lifter should be replaced, it's 16 years old, but he said it was fine.
    Very good experience.
