General Contracting reviews in Dunn Loring

Bought 2 hours of service for $148 through Angie's List coupon.  First mistake.

I needed some rotten wood repaired on my shed door.  When man came to estimate, he said that he thought 2 hours would cover the work.  He asked if I would buy the replacement wood (some pressure-treated 2X4s).  I told him I had no idea what the worker would need and that he should buy it and I'd reimburse.  He said that the trip to Home Depot (2 miles away) would probably cause the job to take another hour.  I said I'd pay for the extra hour (at $74 an hour).

At this point, I thought I'd have to pay an extra $74 plus materials (which turned out to be $51).  Second mistake.

Bill was an extra $384.   3 more hours of work than estimated (plus the labor of a 2d man to hold the door).

I could have bought a new shed for the amount I paid to have the doors fixed (over $500).   Third mistake.

Really feel I got ripped off on the price.  Will not rehire or recommend this company.
