Carlos and his crew have been consistently great. The prices are fair and the work they do is exceptional. Carlos is very professional and answers texts and phone calls right away. Ive used Carlos and MTR many times and Im never disappointed.

Working with the folks at Paint & Stain was an absolute dream. The quote was less than any other contractor. Their attentiveness to our vision and needs was impressive. Their ability to tailor the job as we went was fantastic. They made suggestions here and there, but allowed us the freedom to opt in or out for anything beyond the quote with no pressure at all. What I paid was what I was quoted. Definitely recommend for any job (not sure that there's anything that they cannot do).

Juan explained the problem with the bathroom light fixture and replaced the it. He showed me how the new one worked and how to change the bulb. He also took down the vent cover so that I could clean it and showed me how to change the bulb in the other bathroom fixture. He was very friendly and professions.

From the first day of the work, the company was extremely unprofessional and negligent. The company blew a circuit and did not inform me.  I found out later that day my sump pump and other appliances were short-circuited and no longer working.  When I called Absolute Electric to tell them what had happened, they did not take any blame on themselves and went onto say that the sump pump was already broken.  However, the entire circuit (that they were working on) was blown, making it crystal clear that Absolute Electric was to blame.  Therefore, I had to call in an emergency plumber to replace my sump pump, at an additional cost to me.  Absolute Electric has still not taken any responsibility for this.
Furthermore, when I called Absolute to ask a question, they were extremely unhelpful and rude.  They would not take my requests into consideration and did a poor job overall.  The employees that came were unprofessional, not knowledgeable about the work, and could not answer my questions.  I would not recommend this company to anyone, even my worst enemy.  Absolute Electric is in the business of customer service and I can assure you that you will only be disappointed if you choose to go with them.

The company did a lot of things right.  The deck, stairs and fence are beautiful.

But the workers also trampled the plants in my small (townhouse) backyard.  I understand that it was a cramped work area, but one night after work, I came out to see the day's progress and saw one of the workers, carrying nothing, walk from the back gate up to the patio.  He stomped directly on the already-flattened day lilies, making no attempt whatsoever to avoid them or step around them.

When I brought my displeasure about this to the attention of the company, I was dismissed with a reminder to check my signed contract -- they are not responsible for damage done to landscaping.  Oh ...  and the final amount will be due soon.

I sent another email -- again voicing my displeasure and asking for some small consideration to be made.  I was again dismissed and reminded that the final amount was due.

I expect things to go wrong from time to time.  But when they do, I expect the company to make it right.  Step up.  Take responsibility.  (They weren't going to take responsibility for my deck furniture until I made them sign an agreement to that effect before work started).

Imagine if, after they were made aware of my displeasure (or even had they taken a look at the area and ANTICIPATED IT!!!), someone had made a quick trip to Lowe's, bought a few day lily bulbs, and returned to plant them for me.  Just imagine!

Customer Service is a funny thing.  It doesn't take much to make someone really, really angry.  Conversely, it doesn't take much to head off the problem right from the start and turn it around.  This company made no effort to make it right.

It is difficult for me to give A, B, C, D, F ratings above.  I want to be fair.  The workers did an excellent job on the actual deck, stairs and fence.  They came early, stayed late and worked hard.  I know it was a small work space.  But the company could have anticipated there would be problems, and offered me a small compensation as an apology before work even started.   After all -- they have had experience with this in the past.  This is the only deck I've ever had replaced and I didn't know what to expect.  They could also have shown better Customer Service when I expressed dissatisfaction.

I am angry because I gave them an opportunity (TWO opportunities!!) to make it right, and they dismissed me.  I am angry because I want to enjoy my beautiful new deck but all I can see when I go outside is my trampled day lilies.

UPDATE: after receiving my email, the owner called me and we had an honest conversation about how the lines of communication had broken down along the way. I believe he was sincere in his apology and that he heard my concerns.

Brian and his assistant was very professional, fast and courteous.  They took time to answer questions and suggest really good solutions to problems.  I hired them to do several electrical work in the master bath, master closet and kitchen.  They moved a light switch in the master bath and had to remove a medicine cabinet in order to do that, patched up the hole and had it paint ready for me.  They also removed old light fixures and installed new ones.  I also needed an additional  light in the master closet so they crawled up in the attic to install a new junction box.  Brian had an excellent idea of using an existing master bath light fixture for the master closet instead of buying a new one....great idea!!  as I was going to throw out the old master bath light fixture anyway.  He also suggested a great idea for additional light for above the kitchen sink.  The former owners had installed a makeshift light over the sink that had live wires, not safe, and ugly.  I've asked 3 different contractors what to do and no one had a good solution.  Brian came up with a great practical solution with minimal damage and repair, it was the best solution under the circumstances and I couldn't be happier.  It gives off so much light, it is fantastic!  I really appreciated Brian's consultative approach and problem solving.  Would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Moss came highly recommended to me by a friend.  I have a long list of home improvements, but first things first, I had to get rid of the hideous light in my entryway. And if one wasn't bad enough, I had a matching one in the stairway too.  Greg and Kevin showed up on time and were very pleasant.  I thought that we would be dealing with an easy swap, but due to the tight quarters and height of the lights, they had to bring in scaffolding.  I appreciated how they put down padding to protect my floors and how they were extra careful to not damage my walls while maneuvering the large items in my small area.  Once the scaffolding was up, they had the lights switched out in no time.  It was small job, but I was grateful for their effort.  I will definitely be looking to Moss for more of my projects, big or small.

Angie's list had been running a special for 2-hours of electrical services, however LV Electrics website had a special for a few dollars less at $105. So we emailed the company directly on February 27 and scheduled with Vincent the master electrician to come out on March 10th at 3:00pm to install a chandelier in our 2-story foyer and possibly to install a pair of can lights in the basement. He informed us that there would be an additional $35 fee for the ladder since he would have to rent it, and we agreed to it. At nearly 4:00pm on March 10th Vincent had not showed up or called, so I reached out to him to see if/when he would be arriving. He was very confused at first and stated that he did not have anything scheduled, I reminded him of our email conversation and he said that  his wife handles many of his emails. I also told him that my husband had called earlier in the day to ask him a question about our appointment and had left a message. He said he did not receive any messages, but that he was beginning to remember our email correspondence. Overall he seemed confused, asking if we had cancelled the appointment and wondering why it was not on his calendar.  He said that he need to call his wife to figure out what had happened. He called back a few minutes later and apologized and said that somehow the appointment had not been put on his schedule, and that he had a 5:30pm appointment today and that he could come next week. I was not very happy about this, because I had set aside the time in my schedule to be home today for the appointment. He in no way offered to compensate me for my time, nor was he overly apologetic for having wasted my time. When I told him that I was not interested in re-scheduling for next week, and that I would be leaving a negative review on Angie's List regarding my experience. He became very argumentative at this point and our conversation was counterproductive.
His wife later wrote an email apologizing for the glitch in scheduling stating that their current scheduling methods were not sufficient and that they would be addressing the issues.
As it turns out, Angie's List is running a better deal today for another company and we will be spending at least $50 less to have the job completed next week with another company.

Victor and his crew showed up on time and Victor walked through each task with us before he left his crew to work.  His crew was professional, thorough, and kind.  We will absolutely use them again.
