Does a Painting Estimate Really Matter?

    MTR Service LLC
Carlos and his crew have been consistently great. The prices are fair and the work they do is exceptional. Carlos is very professional and answers texts and phone calls right away. Ive used Carlos and MTR many times and Im never disappointed.

    Hugo Zamora Home Services
I contracted Mr. Zamora to remodel a 12 x 8 bathroom. I should have reacted to the first red flag which was that he asked for 50% money up front. He also made confident claims about his skills in tiling, drywall and painting that were not evident at all in his results. His first attempt at tiling was bad enough that an industry expert said that I should fire him immediately, based on photos of the job. He brought in helpers for some drywall and plumbing that had better skills than he did. Nevertheless, this job was sufficiently bad that I terminated our arrangement. Since Mr. Zamora broke promises to repay monies owed, I sued him in Small Claims Court. His lawyer responded with a bankruptcy notification. Since his prices are above market and his results are poor, I do not recommend this unscrupulous tradesman.

    MTR Service LLC
This guy does it all! Ever since moving to the area a couple years ago, Carlos has been my go-to guy for just about everything including carpentry, drywall, electrical, and general handyman services. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint! And for the amount of work hes done for me and the time he takes to finish a job to perfection, his prices are unbeatable.

    Paint & Stain Llc
Working with the folks at Paint & Stain was an absolute dream. The quote was less than any other contractor. Their attentiveness to our vision and needs was impressive. Their ability to tailor the job as we went was fantastic. They made suggestions here and there, but allowed us the freedom to opt in or out for anything beyond the quote with no pressure at all. What I paid was what I was quoted. Definitely recommend for any job (not sure that there's anything that they cannot do).

    Easy Renovations
Easy Renovations did an excellent job in repairing and renovating our house for sale. They are very professional, thoughtful, knowledgeable, reasonable, and delivered the work within timeline with good quality. Our house was sold quickly with the new look. I would highly recommend them!

    Detailed Home Improvement
Perfect - he repaired the wall and I can't even tell it was repaired - I was amazed on how well he blended in the patch - there was no way I could have even come close to that level of professionalism if I would have attempted the repair myself - would absolutely use him again!!!!

    Professional Painting LLC
It was excellent. they did a super job. Two painters came in and did two coats, painted trim, and doors; couldn't have been better. He was one of the easiest and nicest people I've dealt with. They provided a free estimate. I'll have him back for more work.

    Lomar Painting Co
Job was terribly under-estimated in time. They also use a 'swarm' process where about 8 guys descend on your house and expect the trim to dry faster. It doesn't work. The walls looked great, the drywall work on the ceiling was done well but the rest was not. Bismark estimated 1 day for the entire job leaving his guys with an impossible task and my trim had runs. 1st the person who showed up had no idea of what he was to be doing, I asked if he knew all that had to be done and he said no, and asked me what the job was. When I told him, he realized there was not enough time. More men do not get the job done faster, it doesn't work with trim; it needs to dry between coats or you'll get runs. They also left old wood corner rails with nails still intact, on my deck so I didn't uncover them for about a week. I assumed they'd be thrown away. There were dust painted over on top of door jams. The biggest problem is the disconnect of communication. I said, 'If any of your men know how to hang a door or fix a toilet let me know. The powder room needed those fixed and I would discuss how they'd do it and how much. But instead I hear 3" nails being drilled into the door frame, and one bolt to the toilet tank was removed. Since they didn't discuss what they did I assumed it was the floor bolt that I was referring to, but nope. The tank leaked the water to the floor warping the floor behind the toilet by the time I saw it. When you buy paint you expect ALL the empty gallon containers to be left so you can verify that all you paid for was used. Most of them did this save 2 painters who painted my sons room and took all the empty containers. Originally, the powder room and all the master room's trim was mentioned when I talked with Bismark. But those two things were missed in the emailed estimate and I didn't notice since he had one wall of the master bedroom's trim, one would assume the rest of the trim would be included. He did do the trim for an extra $50.00. The estimate I originally signed I assumed included this and the powder room but this was also my fault for not catching the missing items on the email. It would have been better to have a form filled out in a clear listed format As I went to use the wall paint for the powder room I opened a can with 2/3 a gallon of paint left and what do I find... a plastic bag stuffed in the container. It wasted 1/2 if not more of the left over paint in that can. All in all, I did sign off as the job was complete for 2 reasons: 1 - you get real tired of a ton of people in your house (it actually took the 3 days I had originally said it would most likely take.) And 2 - some things like the trim over the door, the corner moldings left on the deck, the trim runs along a bathroom baseboard, and a plastic bag stuffed in a paint can you won't discover right away.

    Manor Works Painting
Manor Works did a great job painting my townhouse in Sterling when I was getting it ready to sell. Victor and the Manor Works team were very patient and professional as we worked through the details of the job. Our discussions included some complicated details, including matching some custom paint effects and repairing holes from heavy pictures. Victor promptly provided a detailed proposal, including pricing several options. The price was good value for money, so we decided to proceed with Manor Works.

The Manor Works crew was punctual and professional during the job. They kept the house clean as they worked. The paint job was beautiful, and the quality of the Benjamin Moore paints Manor Works uses showed. I was actually a little sad to sell the house because it looked so nice once the team from Manor Works was done.

I appreciated the work Victor and the team did so much that I recently hired them to paint the new townhouse Im buying later this month. Victor was patient and professional working through the proposal, and the price represents value for money. Mark did a great job helping us design our color pallet. Im confident that well have a gorgeous paint job when Manor Works is done.
