    Mark Morrison Paving
It has been over 2 years now since this company installed my driveway. It has hardened nicely, but still has loose particles on the top. Over all, I am happy with the way it has turned out, except for the loose material on top that is tracked into the garage and house.

    Mark Morrison Paving
Mark said he will come back to complete the driveway after it gets hot outside.  It started raining on the day that they put down the product and they were unable to finish the compacting.  Right now, the driveway is very soft and we have to be careful how we drive and turn around on it.  Delivery trucks leave terrible ruts in it that we have to try to spread out and stamp down.  Even the deer are leaving their foot prints.  I called Mark Paving the first week of February and told him the problems I was having.  He said he would be back around June to finish up, to not worry about it.  I will update this review then.

This is now August and I have not heard back from Mark.  We have had many 90+ degree days and the underneath part of the driveway has hardened.  But, the whole top layer is loose particles.  When wet, they track into the house and into the garage from our car tires.  I was hoping for maintenance free, but not so.  I don't know if these loose particles are because of the little compaction that was done, or if it's just the nature of recycled asphalt.  Mark had assured me he would check out the driveway after the weather warmed up, but he has not.  Very disappointing.

    Hurricane Fence Company
OMG! It was awesome! I got 3 other estimates. I got 2 estimates from Rick Belcher who came out. I was unsure exactly what I wanted and he provided a lot of input. When he saw that I really wanted the more expensive option, he worked to bring the cost down. Two of the other providers came but couldn't give me an estimate on the spot and had to email it to me. Hurricane was higher than one of the other companies, but I felt really comfortable with Rick and all that we had discussed.
The guys arrived on the scheduled day. They were a little late but it wasn't an issue. The guy in charge was really professional and nice. The other guys were fine. They started the work and the guy in charge left. It wasn't an issue. Rick said it would take 2 days. The guy said he thought they could do it in one day, but they had to return the second day to finish the gate. They cleaned up their mess. One of the other companies said I would have to be home for the entire installation. With Hurricane, I had to be there initially but then I could leave which I liked. The guy in charge came to ask if they could use the water for cement. When he arrived, he wanted to confirm everything with me.
The fence is absolutely beautiful. I got a 6 foot black chain link with 2 gates. The configuration is funny to allow me a space to turn my car around - it wasn't a square or rectangle.
I was so pleased with them and Rick and highly recommend Hurricane to anyone.
Also, there were issues with my deposit going through on my credit card and it had to be re-run for 3 days but Rick was very patient and never complained!

The owner/contractor of Hard Core Construction, Alan Cramer, provided several professional references - all of whom gave stellar, glowing recommendations. The job started off okay after giving him the $2500 deposit. After about a month, it became difficult to get him out to do the next step. Over a dozen times, he said he would be there on a certain date and neither showed up nor bothered calling to excuse himself or schedule another date. Worse yet, he started demanding money that was ahead of the draws to be paid as scheduled on the contract he wrote and had me sign. The next draw due him was $2000 at sheetrock hanging; and he demanded $1500 even though his completed work was not even ready for sheetrock to be hung. When I did not pay it, he called me about 8 or 10 times one day and left a message on my phone that if I walked away from the job he would "get some boys to come take care of me." I regret that I did not fire him after that experience. I agreed to let him come finish the job after he sent his wife to placate me. From then on he would spend about 3 to 6 hours on the job each week. I paid him another $1000 ahead of draw schedule as he begged for a little "cash flow." Many, many efforts were made by me to get him to finish the job and he could not be bothered even though I was paid ahead. With only about 85% of the job being completed, I finally fired him and am now searching for someone else to complete a job which has drug out for over 6 months.
