Home Security System reviews in Dale City

    Frontpoint
Was interested for a new home that we were having built.  Felt a bit of pressure signing up to take advantage of the deal, but since there was still time to change my mind, went ahead.  After further research with the existing system that was coming with the new home (builder would not remove it), this system would not allow me to leverage what was already available, so I returned the deal.
If we could've used this in conjunction with our hard wired system, we would have had the perfect solution.  Unfortunately, it was an all or nothing situation and did not want to the have the system that came with the house go to waste.
Return and cancellation was simple.  Overall happy with their level of customer service.

Purchased one of Angie's Special Deal's for the Frontpoint's Ultimate Home Security System package for $199 (plus some extra $ for additional sensors I wanted) on a 36-months contract. The security system arrived within a couple of days, was professionally packaged and already Frontpoint pre-tested. The installation was effortless. Once all my sensors were installed, I called Frontpoint and a technician tested the system for me, activated it and provided a quick tutorial on arming and disarming procedures. All went smoothly. The entire security system is made in Mexico and is very well built. GE uses high-quality components so the equipment's value is undoubtedly there. Bottom line: high-quality equipment, very reliable, has a built-in 24-hour battery back-up for the Control Panel in case of a power outage (awesome feature for a peace of mind when away on vacation) but I highly recommend folks gets themselves an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) to provide you several days worth of juice in case of a long-term power outage! Customer service (specifically Mohamed Bennani) is exceptionally good and very responsive. You send Frontpoint an e-mail be ready to receive a response within minutes...not hours or days. Kudos for a job well done!

These folks need to be out of business. Okay, the sales people are relentless - give them your number, I dare you. They will not leave a voice message & they called every 8 minutes until I answered. Once they have you on the phone they're the typical bolierroom dirtballs - they push, push, push, push..........and then push some more. The person I dealt with was Shelia Dimond - pushy & clueless when it came to technical information.
They claim to had a 60 day money back gurantee so I gave it a shot.......I mean how wrong could 4K reviews be?
I did explain cell coverage is poor in my house & odds of success were low. Turns out I was correct. In less than an hour using the console I discovered it wasn't going to work. Contact Shelia - her response is I'll have support contact you.......um, ah, how? You have a cell # & if that worked in the house I'd be keeping the alarm - DUH. Okay, I'll call them myself as I can see the sale folk are some dim bulbs. Call support & get Twanda Smith. Okay, I get the FedEx label & we're good to go. I live in VA & it arrives back to them next day.
Ten days later nothing........AND........winner, winner, they billed for a month of service.....a service I never activated. Try to contact Twanda = ZERO response. Okay guess we'll have to go the dispute route, great that's a lot of fun (not).
Maybe they are good when things go right but the sign of a good company is when things don't & these people exhibit all the hallmarks of a basement bolier room operation. Trust them if you want but if they refuse on a refund what are your chances when some actual emeergency happens? ZERO would be my bet.

    VECTOR SECURITY
I am extremely dissatisfied with this vendor. I have had issues since the building of my home over a month ago. I had a new home built and Vector was the preferred alarm company. We did have several delays in the building process (supposed to move in sometime in March '12 and did not get in until December '12). There are a few issues, and this happens to begin all of them. According to Vector's records, our service (and thereby warranty) date is March '12. This means that I had a bill for 9 months which Mickey took care of for me. Unfortunately, he did not change the service date to December. Also, some of the components were not working / installed correctly, so I refused to pay the bill until everything was working. Again, Mickey handled all of that, but again, did not update the proper service date. One of the components was the touchscreen in the Master bedroom, the other was the thermostat. I have had this system now for roughly 10 months, and the thermostat is constantly resetting itself. I get email notifications that at first I thought were the 'emPower' notifications letting me conserve energy. They subject line states that the thermostat temp was reset to 80.0F, and then another stating 72.0F. Well, it turns out, that is just the thermostat restarting. I have opened two tickets with Vector w/r/t the issue with the thermostat. The first ticket was met with a response akin to 'your settings are wrong', and the second with 'a third party installed your thermostat, take it up with them'. Both of these statements are incorrect. The settings are not the issue, and the thermostat was replaced by Vector when the touchscreen device was finally installed because the original thermostat was the wrong model. The support staff are sticking to their guns and going by the paperwork which means that my service is now out of warranty, because according to them it is almost two years of service, Not to mention that I have made multiple updates to the service tickets, for over a MONTH now, with ZERO contact from Vector. I called in this morning, and was told that the ticket numbers that I provided, from the alarm.com website, were not ticket numbers that vector uses. This is infuriating to me. Not to add, with this current cold snap, if my thermostat goes out, we have no heat. This is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend anyone using a service that is this unorganized or unwilling to respond to a paying customer.

    ABSOLUTE SECURITY INC
Salesman & technician were very professional, as was the company owner, when I got through to him, but I have to rate the overall experience as 'average,' primarily because of the responsiveness (or lack thereof) of the office staff when I encountered a pricing/service discontinuation question, and promises made by the owner to reimburse me 2 months' monitoring fees were not followed through on.  As to whether or not I'd recommend them, or use them again, remains to be seen, depending how my experience is, going forward.  I indicated 'yes' primarily because 'TBD' wasn't an option.

    ADT Security Services
If anything unusual occurs, I hear from them right away. They make a quick contact and/or if it involves calling the police they usually respond promptly. Their price seems to be reasonable, I have never compared with other companies. They charge me quarterly. For all the years that I have had them, their quality of service has been good. For example a few years ago I upgraded and that went well too, a person came out and made the changes.

It went vwry well.  I got the kit with the sensors I'd decided I needed and installed it in about one hour.  They have a broad spectrum of sensors so some planning time is needed to determine exactly what protections you need.  You can add sensors later if you decide you need them.  We had one little problem getting to the county form I needed to submit to get my alarm permit which was quickly cleared up.  Overall it was fast and easy.

    Brinks Security
They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves. Any of the equipment that they installed was not offensive. They had been very responsive. I had set it off several times accidentally and they had been good natured about it. They instructed us on how to use it better. I would use them again in future if need be.
