    Frazier Home Inspections
Our family is moving to Alabama and we needed to hire and inspector for our new Home before purchasing. I went on Angies list for the fist time to find someone that we can trust to do the inspection since we was unfamiliar with Alabama and who to choose. After reading several reviews we decided to pick Andy. Andy was very responsive and called us immediately about doing the job. Andy explained the whole process in detail and what to expect with the home inspection. He answered all of our questions and followed up with us quickly. Andy performed both the home inspection and Radon test and we was very satisfied with the details of the inspection and Andy provided us with photos as well. We will definitely be using Andy in the future.

    Water Damage America Inc.
I had a pretty great experience with the cew, they were professionals and well trained. It was all messed by water at my place, I could not believe how everything changed, when they got done. I highly recommend their service to anyone who has water damage in their place.

    Accurate Home Inspections
Great! He was early and had already looked around so when I got there he was able to tell and show me somethings while we waited for my agent who was late. He was very easy going especially since we were late getting into the house and the agent forgot to tell him we wanted Radon test done too so he even had to make a second trip to the house later that day! He explained everything to me in way I could understand but also was good about not talking down to me. I felt confident that he found all the issues in the house and that I would be safe once we got the problems fixed.

    Accurate Home Inspections
TJ our inspector was awesome. He answered all of our questions happily. The water was not turned on while we were there for the inspection so he made sure to go back as soon as it got turned on by the county and give us our whole report by the next day. We would definitely recommend them, they are great!

    Picture Perfect Home Improvements LLC
He was not our first choice.  Our first choice had gotten ill and couldn't do the job so we went with the second choice.  Mike Neis is a charmer at first.  The project started off bad.  He had called and told us he was going to be at our place to start the project on Saturday. We told him no because we hadn't even ordered the tile.  He showed up on Saturday with a band of men. I don't know why we let him continue since we had said no to him a couple of days earlier.  The first thing we had them do was repair the kitchen drain so that we could have a source of water while the bathrooms would be out of commission.  We had his crew look at the faucet to replace the valve we had bought.  They made an excuse that the valve wouldn't fit our faucet because it was aftermarket.  They then began the destruction of the upstairs bathroom.  This went pretty efficiently as destruction is easy and fun.  We saved money, $400, by hauling away the construction debris ourselves.  They did some prep and repair of drywall but I had to tell him, and it was a fight, to not use green board in the shower area and that we would use concrete board as is recommended bu US Gypsum (USG).  I purchased the concrete board.("Green board" or "mold-resistant board" is NOT authorized by the manufacturer to be in "wet" areas.  That is your shower/tub area.  Green board is for "damp" areas.  That is behind your toilet and sink.  This is according to the manufacturer who will not warranty an improper installation.)  His staff screwed up an entire sheet of concrete board and ended up wasting about 30%.  Mike made lewd and crude jokes with me when my wife wasn't around and he would not listen to my wife when she was.  At one point he caused her to cry because he was not listening to her and addressing his responses to me.  We wanted an offset pattern in the shower/tub area which he argued against saying we didn't have enough tile which was false because we returned multiple boxes.  His staff did not properly cut the tile nor use proper techniques.  I have pictures and videos of his worker hanging out the bathroom window, cutting the tile free hand.  Mike had bought a brand new tile saw for this job. At one point during the construction, Mike called my wife while drunk to complain that I was asking too many questions and he wasn't going to deal with me.  We had purchased a glass door via Overstock.com and Mike would refer to it as an "Internet Door" despite it being available at The Tile Shop and Home Depot.  His staff broke a expensive transition which caused a delay as the tile shop had to reorder it and ship it from Italy.  We wanted an offset pattern on the floor since he went with a straight on the wall and they ended up doing a straight on that.  His helpers hung the medicine cabinet and toiletries cabinet too low.  I could not see myself in the mirror over the sink.  They did correct this.  They had put down the baseboard before installing the vanity which caused a gap.  Their solution was to caulk in a piece of baseboard to hide the space.  At one inspection, the toilet rocked because it was improperly installed.  We complained repeatedly that the tub seemed to be moving.  Mike left the job 95% complete on March 16, 2013.  We tried to get him back out to go over the deficiencies.  He made threatening and harassing calls and finally he sued us in August for a job that was not completed.  We counter sued.  It ended up being settled out of court.  During the court process, it was discovered that his crew did not put an important support in the back of the tub enclosure which caused the tub to move and the drain to no longer be able to be closed.  It will cost us over $8,000 to correct the mistakes of this man and his crew since it will have to be like doing it over from scratch.  His work in the kitchen drain failed within months and had to be brought up to code at a price of over $1,000.  The drain in the bathroom sink is built the same way and having very similar problems. It needs to be brought up to code.  The failure to cut the tile properly caused the tile to be crooked and have little over cuts throughout the project.  The tile is already coming loose from improper adhesion and the movement of the tub has caused the caulk and grout to crack.  This was to be a dream bathroom but Mike and crew turned it into a nightmare.  I can honestly say run, as fast as you can, from this charlatan.

    American Restoration Service Inc

Provided an estimate of apx $3000 to remove the mold only.

Estimate included demo?ing out the whole bathroom including all the time.

He told my tenants that to rebuild the bathroom would be a $12k job.

ARS sent me the quote and a request to send to the (annoying) tenant.

Because I was out of town for the Christmas holidays, I did not respond in a timely manor , to ARS sent the quote to the tenant. Tenant freeked out and when I returned I was literally forced to begin work. However when I contractor began removing drywall, he found the mold was only in the drywall paint and not infested throughout the while bathroom. It could have been mitigated for a lot less money, but even still removing all the drywall and cleaning from 16? below the ceiling and ceiling , repairing , and repainting, the total cost was $1300.

My contractor and ARS did both agree on one thing, the mold was just a result of not using the ventilation fan regularly enough.

So, in closing, if you are not using your fan enough, and you are seeing black deposits on your ceiling, and you have 12k burning a hole in your pocket, Give ARS a call

    Air Duct Maids
Air Duct Maids did a fabulous job.  I was very impressed with the company from my first email  inquiring about their Great Deal.   The owner was quick to respond and very thorough in explaining what the Deall included .  The team that came to my house was led by Doug and included Alaa.  Doug did an outstanding job of explaining the details of what they were going to do and did it in a very professional manner.  They both were great guys who were punctual (even a little early) and took the time to be as neat as possible, which I thoroughly appreciated.   They even cleaned the vent covers.   They are an outstanding company and would highly recommend them to others.  .

    Radon Abatement Services
From the first time I called them for an estimate they were very
professional and personable. Set up an appointment to give an estimate
on a radon abatement system and Jim Ferguson arrived exactly on time.
Explained everything he was going to do and conducted a very thorough
inspection of my home. After, he explained the next steps and gave me a
verbal estimate and said I'd have a written estimate and sample contract
that night in an email. Received it and confirmed the installation date.
Jim arrived with his son right on time and installed the system exactly
as previously described. Cleaned up after themselves and explained the
system maintenance and warranty, which is on the structure and fully
transferable to a new owner. Overall a very positive experience.

    American Disposal Svc
American Disposal Service gets our trash twice a week. I've never seen trash left behind. They have a large toter, I think it's like 60 gallons trash can they give you and you can mix all your recycling in it. They do cardboard plastic, all sorts of things. You don't have to separate paper form the plastic from the metal. I talked them down on the price. Their price has gone up and my neighbor had switched to a different trash company and it was significantly cheaper and they met me halfway. They were going to $17 a month.
