Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield
Coverage is expensive for PPO plans.
Blue Vision has very select providers that are "in-plan" for refraction.
Some types of medications are not covered in VA that are covered in TN by Anthem....
Really high co-pays for ER visits ($200 plus $25 for Dr.) and imaging ($200 for a MRI!)

The facility was clean, updated and comfortable, but the best part was the people. All facets of my stay - pre-tests and check-in, surgery, recovery and follow-up - were attended by professional, courteous and supportive staff. From the admission staff to the specialty providers, I was never left with a question that they knew their job and would take good care of me. The nurses who cared for me after surgery were top-notch, dealing with my questions, fears and needs with compassion. I never felt that I was just one among many; when they were with me they were focused on the moment neither rushing me or holding me back, and were always upbeat and encouraging, which was beneficial to my quick recovery. I would recommend the hospital without reservation.

    Sentara Potomac Hospital
Went for an MRI. The registration process is ridiculous. Pretty much every time I've ever been to Sentara, they mess something up with the registration. I got it straightened out pretty quickly this time.
It is awesome that you can schedule this to be done at pretty much any time, even 8pm at night. That made it very convenient.
Something went wrong during the scan, but they didn't know until I had gotten dressed back into my clothes. Redressed back into a gown and went back into the machine again and the second time everything went correctly. Overall the experience was so-so.
The staff member who did the scan wasn't friendly but she wasn't rude either. On par with the rest of my experiences here.

    CBS Pharmacy
They are awesome.  From the janitor to the 10.09 to 10.11, and the pharmacy staff members are great.  I had my mum sometime to join me recently 10.31 to 10.35, may be once or twice a week.  They already knew my name and my mum’s name too, and they ask about her.  They give follow up calls on top of her medication.  It’s a great little staff there.

    Wegmans Potomac
I am really happy with them. It’s like an upscale grocery store and they have a pharmacy that I use a lot. Not only are they a really pleasant place to shop because it’s beautiful but the prices are well below their major competitors. They are at least on par with the other places. It is almost like its split off in the neighborhood like the fish market, the butcher and of course they have the deli. I can go and spend the day there literally. I can have breakfast in the morning, they have breakfast buffet. Shop, do whatever I want to do and at lunch time buy some lunch there. There are different places in there, it’s just really wild. It’s completely for a shopping experience than any other places I have ever been. I have been to grocery stores all over the world. I like them to be better than any place I have ever been because of the combination of the atmosphere and everything. It just all adds up to a fantastic experience. If they were just a pharmacy like the other place, I wouldn’t use them. The problem I have with them is they often cannot fill my prescription. They don’t have enough medicine on hand. When they first opened up a year and half ago; that was them. But they still have problems. Every couple of months I go in there. It’s a pain to go pick up my prescription and find out that I have to go 2 days later and get the rest of it. That is annoying and with them it is kind of a regular thing. I would tell the other members that they are great and fast. If I want my prescription to be filled, they give me time usually 20 minutes or less. They give me a little beeper that hangs from my cart and I can just take off and go shopping. That is nice. They are competitive on pricing. I never had any problems with quality. I go there for everything.

    Dalewood Walk-In Clinic
I've had many cortisone shots, but Friday I had one in my left knee.  By Saturday evening, the left side of my face heated up and was bright red.  I had difficulty sleeping.  By 2 a.m., I took a Benadryl and finally drifted off to sleep about 4 a.m.  I woke at 7 a.m. and my whole face was bright red, my cheek bones actually were painful and extremely hot.  I could not reach the orthopedic doctor, he had no on-call service.  I went to the clinic, had a very short wait and was cared for by a wonderful staff.  The doctor was amazing.  She spent a good deal of time with me, questioning me closely about a rare autoimmune condition I have, her concern was very apparent.  She prescribed medication appropriately.  While I was waiting for my scripts, she came out to ask me another question.  I really was impressed.  I felt cared for, and like I was in good hands every moment.  I'm very glad I went to Dalewood.  I'm happy to report that her treatment was correct and today every trace of the reaction to the shot has disappeared.  Thank you, Doctor!  Thank you, Dalewood!
