    Basement Masters Waterproofing
We own 2 rental properties. Recently one of them had issues with a leak in the basement. I called Basement Masters because they had successfully and professionally installed an interior drain system and sump pump 6 years ago in our other rental. This is a 2 part review because I don't think I ever completed a review from the first time. Current job: Leah with customer care worked to get us on the schedule on a day that worked for us to meet with Randall for an estimate, who we worked with the first time. This was tricky because this has been a busy season, and we live over an hour away from the property. Randall came and spent time inspecting the area where we had already cut drywall, and we cut out a few more sections. He inspected inside and out, and suggested a "water test." We then were able to find the source of the leak with only one more cut. It wasn't a crack, and he advised us on how to proceed. Previous job: We had gotten estimates from 4 different companies for a severe seepage issue at our other rental. Randall very clearly explained the options with visuals and terminology. It was straightforward, and there were no pushy sales tactics like we experienced with some of the other estimators. The job was done efficiently and in a timely manner. In the years since, there has not been any problems in that basement with the combination of a sump pump and interior drain.

VM Drainage & Erosion Solution LLC
Wow! Jose and his team were terrific! The fairly heavy work was well planned, conducted by a crew of three people and completed over two solid days. They had to excavate partially along part of the house foundation, and then also dig drainage ditches partially under my deck and did so by shovel. They then waterproofed, added surface material and covered with pebbles with the correct grading away from the house over the entire surface under our deck. The drainage ditch work was all covered again by dirt and then seeded. They had adequate time for just under sixty feet of fence repairs as well! They are experienced and hard working. Jose has over a decade of experience and it showed. I monitored the work at different intervals and was consistently impressed by Jose and his team. They were efficient, neat, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend VR Drainage and Erosion Solutions!

It was refreshing to talk to a contractor who worked with the homeowner to solve the problem in the least costly way.  I will certainly call this company in the future and recommend it to anyone who is looking for honesty and professionalism.

    All Aspects Waterproofing
We had water coming in our basement in 2 locations.  I called All Aspects Waterproofing because of the amazing reviews they received on Angie's list.  When I called with the issue they told me a manager would call me back which they did and I explained in more detail the issue we were having.  I was told they would be sending Jeff out to my house because he lived locally near us.  Jeff arrived promptly the day of the appointment.  He spent about 45 minutes with me assessing the issues.  He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in his field and explained everything thoroughly to me.  He also assisted in addressed the horrible sump pump situation we had going (that the previous owner installed) and made recommendations for that as well.  He told me he would be 3 separate quotes for each issue as well as total (which would save us money).  He went to his vehicle to write up the order and then came back with a binder of photos showing me examples of work they did for the same issues I had with my house.  I was SO impressed.  Although we haven't done the work yet, I need to look no further we are going with All Aspects.  And the quote was WAY less than what me and my husband thought it would be!

    A A Action Waterproofing Inc
I can't express how happy AA Action Waterproofing has made me! They were my 4th and final estimate to have a damp corner in my house fixed. 3 companies told me they had to take down drywall, dig up my concrete floor to install drains and a sump pump. Project manager George Hoody from AA Action got to my house a little early (a few minutes before I got home) and had evidently taken a look around outside. When he came inside, I took him down stairs and he pointed to the corner and said that's where the leak is, right? I asked how he knew and he said lets go outside and I'll show you. He showed me where my gutter was draining right to that corner. To fix the problem I need a gutter extension, and I have to regrade the dirt so water flows away from my house. He was almost certain this would fix everything. A cheap DIY fix. The other companies wanted to charge me THOUSANDS!!! After all was said and done, George even sent me an email detaining exactly what I needed to do to fix the problem. I will be doing the work this weekend and if this doesn't fix the problem, without a doubt I'll be using AA Action to fix it. George has restored my faith that not all contractors are out to make a buck. There are still honest ones out there!!!

    Basement Detective
They pulled permits with Prince William County.  They dug up the basement around a parameter for a part of the basement and put in weeping tiles as well as a new sump pump.  They did everything they said they would as they would.  The work was done very quickly and as promised.  Everything was on schedule.  They did not damage any walls when carrying the stuff up from the basement and newly painted walls.  They also protected the floors as they did the work.  We would recommend them.

    Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of VA
It was great when the rep came initially and the second time. He was quite professional. We did not perform the work with them, but rating my overall experience as B because of the initial communication gaps and mismanagement of expectation.

    Basement Masters Waterproofing
We had unexpected flooding on a Friday night in our finished basement due to seepage in our recently purchased investment property. Basement Masters returned my call on a Saturday and set up an appointment for an estimate the following Monday. Unfortunately, due to some glitch with their computers, the estimator did not have us on his schedule. When I called a few minutes after the scheduled time and they hadn't shown up, they apologized and set up another time for that Wednesday. Mr. Butterfield came out and took time to explain his recommendations and answer questions.

We chose Basement Masters because the estimate was reasonable - in between the others we had had received- and the scope of work seemed to be  what we needed. Unfortunately we were unable to schedule the work right away, which meant our tenants were out the use of the basement for over a month.

Ultimately - the work was started on the scheduled day. However, there was some delay due to pulling permits, which apparently had not been foreseen by Mr. Butterfield. The work was done by the time we needed it done so we could have the other repairs completed for our tenants. Mr. Butterfield also honored the Angie's List coupon we had for the battery back up pump.

The B for professionalism and punctuality were due to the need for the rescheduling and delays with the permitting, Overall, we were pleased with the service provided and work done. So far, no more flooding evident.

    Basement Masters Waterproofing
I meet with Randall Butterfield in early September. Our home had water running into our basement whenever we had a heavy rain a problem that we experienced for about five years. It has progressively been getting worse over time.
When Randall arrived at our home I found him to be very professional and straight forward. There was no slide shows, videos or sales pressure. Randall said that this job was pretty much straight forward and he explained how "Basement Master" would fix the leak. A week later Randall e-mailed us the proposal.
Randall was always available by phone and e-mail to answer all of our questions.
Basement Masters was not the cheapest estimate we received but was in the same ball park. Based on our interaction with Randall and reviews from Angie's list we decided to go with Basement Masters and we are very glad we did.
The crew arrived at our home on time they were had working and very professional in the way they went about their work. I was happy to see that all of the excavation was done by hand (pick and shovel). I compared the work that was being done to the well written Proposal/Contract given to me by Randall. I found it easy to follow and the work crew performed each one of the nine steps as it was written in the proposal.
The work was done in a timely manner. There are no negatives to that we can discuss.
The work area was left in very good condition. There is no sign that dirt was pilled up in the yard.
We have not had any rain since the work was completed so the true test has yet to be done. However, based on our observation we are confident there will be no problem. We are equally confident that if there is a problem a phone call or e-mail to Randall to be returned in a timely manner.
