DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Everything was horrible, poor communication and the owner of the company is extremely unprofessional. The truck and crew showed up 2 hours late. It was suppose to be a 4 man crew, only 3 were there for the first hour. They took a lunch break after an hour of being there. I was sent 2 men that had experience and 2 men that were brand new. The workers were complaining that they were tired from working until 2 am the morning of my move without getting proper rest in between shifts. This slowed the move down tremendously, as the 2 with experience had to do all the work. I had them move furniture and large items only, no packing, and the move was only a mile down the road. I have a small townhouse and the whole move took 9 hours, after I was told it would take 3. I have trash, plastic, tape rolls both full and empty, and their lunch trash all over my house and yard. Walls and hallways were scuffed and damaged in multiple places. It took an hour and a half to move a dining room table, 6 chairs and a corner hutch. It took over 30 minutes for a guy to saran wrap a mattress. Workers were on their cell phones and standing around numerous times. I paid what I had originally been quoted on the phone which was for 3 hours, not 9. I received multiple threatening messages the next day from the owner of the company. Do not use this company, I do not recommend them to anyone.

Although we underestimated the number of furniture items, the company and crew were extremely accommodating to get everything moved and make it a great experience. We are incredibly happy with our experience and appreciate all the work the company and crew did! We will refer all of our family and friends to Express Moving and Storage!

    ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY
It went very well, and the movers were very polite and respectful. That is not always true with movers so it was much appreciated. We gave the movers each a pretty big tip, and I have never done that before, so they were really good.

Very well. Marco and his crew were punctual, efficient and carefuL. I watched them unload everything and they were careful and courteous. Nothing was broken or damaged. They were also careful not to damage walls and flooring during the move out and in.

They are the most horrible movers ever. They broke and gouged a number of our items. They were a horrible company. We put in a claim and they never followed through with it. They gouged the doorway, and never came back to fix it. They had our things overnight, and the next day when we met with them at our home here in Virginia, we found that one of the sideboards that was an antique was actually broken, and glued. It was not glued well, it was horrible. They gouged a piano that had been in the family forever. I don't even want to talk about it, I am so disgusted. I would never recommend them to anybody.

Absolutely stellar performance.  This company is very good at assessing what you have to move and what it will take to do it.  They arrived on time at the storage unit with the agreed upon staff and equipment.  The staff worked diligently and carefully packing the truck, taking time to wrap items to prevent damage.  They were organized, efficient and worked very well as a team.  When they arrived at the house the unpacking was performed in the same way -- they took great care to find out where you wanted each item placed, they put together Lazy Boy furniture, assembled beds even giving me time to put on the bedskirts as they worked.  We had some very heavy tools and machinery and they safely moved all of these heavy and unwieldy items from the truck into our garage.  Nothing was broken or damaged because of the care they took.  They were also careful not to scape the walls as they moved items in.  They were careful not to track in mud and dirt, were polite and helpful and made suggestions when we were unsure of how we wanted something handled.  The business is completely honest in their dealings and did the job in a way to keep the cost at a minimum for us.
We were so relieved to have this great company perform this job for us.   A few month's before this move we had another moving company with the word "Dave" in their name move our belongings from the old house into the storage unit --- and it was a nightmare.  They broke things, had no lead worker and so were terribly unorganized, they picked up a dresser and tipped it forward to carry it and all of the drawers fell out, some workers disappeared and were found around the side of the house or in the truck using cell phones and texting instead of working.
DAVE THE MOVER was the polar opposite of this other company.  If you have a move to make our advice is to use Dave the Mover and we can guarantee you will have a pleasant move.  We just can't say enough about how great they were.

I contacted this moving company based on anglieslist reviews for our move from Virginia to Florida. Upon initial contact they were very responsive and polite. We made an appointment to have someone come out for a quote and after waiting 30 minutes after the time he was supposed to be here and had not shown, we decided to call him to see if he was still coming. We called multiple times and the phone just went to voicemail. To his defense, we later found out that he did try calling the house phone, which had been disconnected (but when the appointment was made he never asked for a phone number). When we finally got in touch with him he was lost and could not tell us where he was and said his GPS was not getting him to our home. We gave him instructions on how to get to our home after finally figuring out where he was... or so we thought. He had no idea where he was or what town he was in. Wouldn't you stop and ask at that point? He somehow ended up in the next town over. We asked him to put the high school in his GPS which is located next to our home and said it wasn't finding the high school! At that point we decided we would not go with a company that can't even find a home in their own state to move us 1000 miles away. Wouldn't you look and make sure you know where you are going and know how to get somewhere before you go? A company that should be doing this on a constant basis should not have this much of an issue knowing where you are and understanding directions.

Overall experience:  Very Good!  3 man crew showed up promptly at appointed time; Jose, Foreman; Mike, Mover; & Davon, Driver & helper.  Gave them tour of house & contents to be moved; they started moving from upstairs right away taking care with most everything.  One big dresser suffered a slight amount of damage to its edge during this time; Jose brought it to my attention right away & told me he would take care of this problem -- he apologized for their mistake -- did not happen to anything else.
All contents, including a washer, dryer, & chest freezer were packed carefully into truck within 2.5 hrs & then transported to new home.  Gave them a tour of new home & discussed placement of items; they got started right away & had truck unloaded in no time.  Jose offered either repair of dresser top or discount on moving fee.  I chose the repair; Jose took dresser with them, had repair done, & returned dresser to in 2 days.  I was very satisfied with the results & with the professionalism displayed by Jose.  I would recommend Dave the Mover to anyone.

Phase 1 went great, and the movers packed us on one day and arrived in Culpeper the very next morning in both cases. Very polite and careful.
