I called and explained I needed my A/C unit serviced to try to make it last through this summer at which time I am going to replace the entire system. I told them I know the unit has a slow leak and may need cleaned. This is where the fun begins. I was told a technician would come out and do a diagnostics on the system for roughly $80.00 and that if they system needed anything the tech would tell me. So tech comes out hooks up gauges tells me the unit is fine on refrigerant. Tells me there is a valve in the A-coil that is stuck and not letting gas by. Then tells me I need a surge protector on the system and should have the blower removed and cleaned. All this and a few other items that I don't want since I just want the unit to make it through this season. I ask him if he was going to clean the unit and he said no, this is just a diagnostic visit. I have to get a service contract for around $300 a year and they will come out and service it twice in a year. Keep in mind I told them I am replacing the system and just want to get through the summer. They did absolutely nothing but lie. The unit was low on refrigerant. In fact is was 3 lbs low. L.B. Hudson heating and cooling came out and cleaned the coils outside, added the refrigerant and check what was supposed to be a stuck valve and found it fine. So for a total of $300.00 Hudson did exactly what I ask. Cleaned the unit and added refrigerant to get me through this year. I would never recommend a company like Able that clearly had their tech trained to try to up sell me a bunch of stuff that would be gone in a year. Save your money and find a reputable company.

    Appleton Campbell
The night before my biannual HVAC check up, I found my basement had some flooding. I have been working with Appleton Campbell for a YEAR and the experiences have been unwanted but exceptional. No one wants to have their sump pump die, but mine did this week. Today Ethan and David came by to check on the new furnace and airconditiong system I had installed last year. THANK GOD they came today. It was a rescheduled visit, but I found out my basement had flooded a bit. I had my HVAC unit inspected and now they are installing a new sump pump Monday. I was hoping Appleton and Campbell could provide guidance as to what was happening and who to call to fix it. They are doing everything. Last year I was purchasing my Mom's house as she had passed away. A week before closing the HVAC unit went out. They came out and a day later I had a team of people replacing the system. I have natural gas and pay a monthly fee instead of paying a huge amount the months usage spikes. This new HVAC system is so efficient that I had 4.5 months where I didn't have to pay a bill because I ended up with a large credit.

    Ideal HVAC Services
He called the retailer on Monday and when he heard our unit arrived early he came at 3 in the afternoon, a day early, to start the huge job of replacing our system so we didn't need to spend another night in the heat. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work, professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent customer service. Our new unit was expertly installed and configured, even with a few customizations to accommodate our house. They left our house at 6:30 PM and our house was cool enough to sleep by 10. Really amazing company and group. The business manager, Fran, is a big part of the customer service, and worked hard to communicate with us and registered our new unit with the company to ensure the warranty was all set. Cannot say enough good things about them. Worth every penny (which was also a pretty good price considering the work to be done). Well done, Ideal!

    HIVEX Basement Finishing Co.
From start to finish, I could have not been more pleased with the process. Everyone I dealt with was very professional, knowledgeable and took pride in their work. My project manager, Mr. Bob Salo, kept the lines of communication open to ensure work was being completed to my satisfaction. I was informed of upcoming phases of work and the job flowed very smoothly. All of the skill sets (framing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) work for HIVEX--no subcontractors. I would highly recommend this company if you are contemplating remodeling your basement. Fantastic job!

    Able Heating & Air LLC
Way better than I expected. I have used Able service the system for two years. Recently, I noticed a price increase, so I called around. His prices are very competitive. The reason the price rose, is because I was receiving a discounted service for the first two years of the new system. He forces his techs to take classes and stay up on technology. He has direct contacts with the Trane factory to troubleshoot problems, he can't solve. He also pays the techs a decent wage so they stay around and do a good job. His description of being honest is an understatement. You will have to meet Mr. Venable to understand. Thank you Greg!!

Perfect...Greg and his team were prompt and very responsive. The project was thoroughly explained and questions asked via email or phone were answered promptly. We were told it would be a 3 day process and it was completed in 2 days.

Looked on Angie's List , found TKC conveniently located in our town. Called and they were here in 30 minutes. Turned out the emergency switch was broken off. It was after hours, we decided since our A/c was 10 years old we'd sign up for the service contract. This was our decision, the tech did not bring this up, but we benefited from the decision. With the contract $250 per year and service call, labor and part, it was a total of $390. We are very satisfied.

McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning Services of VA
Fantastic work.  Unit looks great, very professionally installed.  After they were done, they walked us through every little thing and made sure we were 100% satisfied before they left.  Ray and Jessie were the best.  Extremely friendly, and even better was that my wife had to be the one to be home when they were installing the unit.  She never felt unsafe or concerned.  I can't recommend these two enough.

I purchased a coupon on Angie's List. The company emailed me the same day to set up my appointment and was able to come out within 3 business days. My appointment was from 8-11 AM. A few minutes after 8 they called to say they were on the way. They were at the house by 8:30. Service was performed professionally. Would recommend.

    Air Duct Maids
Expensive but worth it.  This is a 3-story rental townhouse with a lot of flex duct.  Previous tenant hadn't used proper size furnace filters, so the ducts were a mess.  These guys showed up friendly, on-time, clearly explained what they were going to do, then reviewed everything when the work was complete, including some amusing before and after pictures.
As it says on their (very shiny and clean) truck, "don't let the pink truck fool you."
