AHIVEX Basement Finishing Co.Dan and Chris took a look at the area and provided an estimate while they were here. The primary reason we went with them was their reputation - reviews, local, etc. The secondary reason was price. We were quoted double and 1.5x their price for, as best as we can tell, the same quality. They listened to our concerns and wishes and gave an honest opinion on whether certain elements were worth the money, where we could save and how much, etc. They have a pretty standard, but well-equipped, template for what they do and what they don?t do, what they provide and what they don?t. There weren?t any surprises. We installed some of our own network/audio that they didn't do - although they assisted wherever they could (pretty much anything that involved structure, etc.) and certainly addressed any questions or issues. The whole project took around 6 weeks and the basement looks and functions perfectly. We got what we wanted for a price we were happy with. As far as the actual process, after the initial consultation, Chris took over a few initial and final checks and occasional inspections of progress. A sub crew came in to do the framing and another followed quickly with drywall. After that, the much longer process of ?the rest? started - trim, doors, eventually priming walls, bathroom installation, tile bathroom floor, etc. A lot of the final stages were completed by Scott, who also professionally installed cabinetry we ordered separately. We are very happy with the completed project. And I?m confident that if we have questions or concerns, Dee Bee will be available to address anything that comes up. All in all, without question highly recommended.- Michael S.

ADIY Kitchens & Baths LLCI've enjoyed having the team from DIY Kitchens and Baths into our home. Prior to these guys we've had some less than great experiences with a variety of contractors--the classic disappearing act and general lack of communication, missed appointments, hidden upcharges, etc etc. thankfully this was not the case with DIY. We had a truly wonderful experience with DIY Kitchens! When I called DIY to come out for a quote, they really understood our vision and parameters and made us feel completely comfortable with the project. Having bad experiences with contractors before and being older people, we did have some reservations about being upcharged or taken advantage of. DIY Kitchens and Baths completely quelled any hesitations we had. They were completely on board to do my remodeling on a budget. The best part about my experience with DIY is that we not only stayed on budget, but our kitchen looks like a chef kitchen. Frank the manager, was truly a rockstar. We were not staying at our house for the duration of the work, but Frank constantly stayed in contact and was always honest about what was going on with the work, timeline, etc. Almost every job naturally has a few hiccups, but Frank always had options to work around them and to make sure that we were 100% happy with the results. He was always available by text or call whenever I had questions, and he was extremely patient with my endless questions. For a quick example of how nice Frank is, we had a very small amount of 2 walls that needed to be painted. Twice the paint store gave me the wrong color, which Frank realized when it went up on the wall. I didn't think I'd have time to figure out what the issue was (whether I gave the paint store the wrong color, if they mixed it wrong, etc), so I told Frank not to worry about it, and I could paint it on my own later on. When all the work was just about done, Frank called me and said he just couldn't leave the paint like that because he wanted to make sure they took care of every last detail. They did repaint the walls the correct color, which was a minor thing but really shows how diligent and great Frank is. Tony also did incredible work. There are so many little things that don't jump out at you right away, but when you do notice them, it's truly a testament to how diligent these guys are. For example, I was really impressed that they tiled pretty far up behind my corner cabinets, that probably nobody would even notice unless you purposely looked up under there. It really goes to show that they don't cut any corners. From a coordination standpoint, Pasha was always available to answer my questions and was extremely helpful in giving me information just about anything. I really appreciated that guidance. Overall, I would highly recommend DIY Kitchens and Baths for any remodeling projects. I am beyond thrilled with the result, and can't thank them enough for all of their hard work!- Anthony F.

AKFD (Kruper Flooring Design)Joe and I got in contact and we talked about our plan for the basement - types of flooring and where it was going, etc. We quickly scheduled a consultation where he brought some samples and measured. We got the estimate quickly, accepted the price and confirmed options. A sub crew installed all of the flooring (probably total 1000 sq ft combined) in one day (they were looking at 2 days, but ended up deciding that they could stay a little longer and finish up). Both the crew's foreman/supervisor (who I never met, but spoke with on the phone) and Joe contacted us to confirm that everything went well, which it did. All of it turned out beautifully and as expected. Highly recommended.- Michael S.

ATroy-Bilt ConstructionWe had Troy-Bilt do a complete gut and remodel of our master bathroom. This was extensive work that included tearing out the old shower and corner tub, reframing/moving the wall the old shower was in to create a linen closet, replace two vanities, create a large corner master shower, move plumbing for one vanity and shower, replace the toilet, install new medicine cabinets, and replace all lights and fixtures. Also, we removed the bath door and Troy-Bilt hung a sliding barn door. We purchased all the material, except for miscellaneous items, and Troy-Bilt worked with us to create the design and layout of the new bathroom. It all turned out excellent. We are very pleased. Price below includes only labor and miscellaneous material - the bulk of material was provided/purchased by us directly. Also, the price includes work and some extra material for the shower (tile work, some additional granite pieces to match vanity tops, and glass shower walls).- Mark K.

ATroy-Bilt ConstructionIt was a good experience. The gentleman that came out was really nice. He was pretty straightforward. He said honestly I will give you a quote I don't know you are going to like it he said you be better off to honestly do this yourself he said it is something I can do, but he was really straight forward. He give really good advice. He talked sense and because you felt like spending money with him would be a waste, which was really nice to hear. He was nice. He is prompt. All in all it was really a good experience. We had something that we are going to do a construction for. We had a lot of bits and pieces of project, not complete project.- Erin W.
