Mostly great-- the driver was fantastic -- very professional and organized. Wish the first group of packers had labeled better and they didn't wrap an expensive furniture piece as asked but I wasn't there to oversee-- I would just stay and label yourself and make sure important pieces get wrapped w blankets Overall good job tho and all very friendly and helpful

    Quality Moving Services
Suffering from ALS my mother missed her home and we returned her to her house. In need to get her necessary handicap equipment and wheelchairs back I called to get a quote on returning a very limited amount of items for her needs. They actually said they might arrange a next day delivery if the crew was available. I provided a itemized list of the basic needs and was less than half of the items moved in August, much less. After discussing it I was given a quote of $1850 to make the move back. When asked how could the price be $250 higher moving back less than half of the furniture. Raymond told me "it was because they had a price increase and the $1600 was too low before and they ate it." This is a prime example of seeing an opportunity to capitalize on a handicapped persons need and less about fair pricing. Beware of this company and get other quotes.

    Collegiate Movers
The movers were running a little late, but they called to let me know. They were very pleasant, professional, and efficient. There was only one small ding on one of the walls, but otherwise, they did a great job keeping the walls, floors, and doors from getting damaged. All of our belongings fared well, too. We ultimately chose Collegiate because they were less expensive than the other moving companies that gave us quotes and because of their good reviews and recommendations. If I were moving again, I would hire them.

    Clinton's Transfer & Storage Inc
the movers arrived exactly on time, and were all professional, courteous, and efficient. they made every effort not to mark our hardwood floors, and every box was in the right room by the time they left. they asked us to do a walk-through before they left to be certain furniture was where it should be. they were incredibly fast! we plan on using this company again to move our things from a storage unit.

Upon looking on Angie's List to provide moving recommendations to a family member, I was dismayed to see this company listed and with anything more than a D rating.  Our move was in 2008, but it was quite memorable and not in a positive way.  The workers were polite, but not careful.  Many of our furniture items were scratched.  Our TV was dropped and broken.  We did not panic at the time because we thought the company would make it right.  Wrong.
After following up with the company several times, we did in fact get compensated...approximately $60.  Since this was several years ago, I cannot recall the exact wording of our conversation, except I do remember complaining that $60 wouldn't even come close to replacing our TV, to which the company responded, "Take me to court then!"  Customer service grade F.  Stay far away.

Virginia Varsity Transfer and Self Storage
Great experience, professional and cut movers at both ends. Schedulers and estimator were from the actual company not a subcontractor and were very professional. This made us comfortable choosing this company. They were also very flexble and accommodating with scheduling and willing to nail down exact dates unlike national companies. They paired us up with other clients to share the cost of the move and keep costs down. Communication was sometimes slow but we were also asking very early so it never got to emergency state.

    Southwest Virginia Moving and Storage
My experience with Southwest was impeccable. Michael was my primary contact for quote through followup and was very professional throughout the process. He assisted me with moving boxes and walked through my quote in detail which I appreciated.
The packers were also extremely professional and diligent in wrapping and handling my property. They were prompt, courteous and did not waste any time getting the job done. I was very pleased with the care taken to ensure my property reached our new home without any damages to property or our homes.
I would use Southwest again without hesitation.

The crew arrived a few minutes early and got right to work. The weather was terrible as it rained all day long at both locations. But these guys worked hard even though they got drenched. There was an issue with my new house having an undersized stairway (I knew it would be a tight fit but had no idea of the difficulty that lay ahead). The crew from varsity worked hard to try to over come the issues with mixed results. I can not fault them for what would not fit as it was a situation of trying to fit a round peg into a square hole. But these guys tried very hard to make it work. They worked a couple of hours beyond what we had originally planned for, yet my final cost was still within the numbers of the original estimate. While I hope I NEVER need to move again, I will not hesitate to call upon this company to do the job for me in the future.

    Local Movers
It was FABULOUS. When you see a review that's ALL positive, you kind of automatically assume it's baloney or that the writer has something to gain. NOT SO. My experience with this company is everything you typically want to find in a service. They were punctual, VERY pleasant, VERY respectful, and WORKED LIKE WILLING HORSES. To keep it brief, the two guys who came to help us were contracted to move large pieces of furniture down a flight and a half of stairs and onto the truck. They got that done SO fast that there was time left in the hour (they have an hour minimum charge), and they said they'd be happy to help with the boxes and also rearranging things on the truck. They were making it so fast and so easy, we said yes, please do.  The ENTIRE time, they kept REALLY MOVING, not poking around, not lollygagging, but moving REALLY quickly but carefully nonetheless. It was hot, but they kept running back up the stairs after putting something on the truck despite that. They BARELY STOPPED ONCE TO DRINK SOME WATER! And that "break" was like 3 minutes! We did move a few boxes, but not really much. These guys got a 2-bedroom apartment down the stairs and CAREFULLY packed onto the truck in under an hour and fifteen minutes. We were SO happy with this that we asked if these two guys would be available two days later when we needed to UNload. They weren't, but two others were, who were JUST as wonderful! We were a little disappointed that the original two guys could not make it, but the owner of the business said all his workers were good and he was sure we'd be pleased. AND WE WERE!!! Also, the owner was pleasant, cooperative, and willing to turn all kinds of work to make sure we had help when we needed it. It was WONDERFUL. I fully, completely, and without reservation recommend this company. Great folks, great rates, great flexibility, and GREAT willingness to do whatever needs to be done to make it work. I am ENTIRELY happy with them, would hire them again in a heartbeat, and would recommend them to anyone.   :)

Damaged furniture, broken glass, poor packing, and the company wouldn't pay for most of the damage because we didn't find the damage until later. They had 5 or 6 people unload the truck and there were 2 of us, so there was no way we could check every item. We're still finding damage
