Many problems, ranging from significantly out of square shower surround to badly angled shower rod to leaking pipes. We were assured all would be fixed and done right...and didn't hear from them again for months. Couldn't even turn shower on due to water leaks.

We contacted Dollman in spring of last year. From the very start, we knew this was the company for us. Jimmy Dollman met with us several times during the design process. We didn't have a good idea of what we could do with the house but Mr. Dollman provided us with several optional designs and was always available to answer our questions. We finally settled on a design that would meet our needs and budget and we found the itemized options to be a very nice part of the design because we were able to choose the things that we found the most important to our family. The construction went very well. We were updated frequently and Dollman sent us photos of the house along the way. Even our bank's inspection person told us that our project went seamlessly. We are very happy with our home and we would definitely recommend the Dollman guys and gals.

The entire job went very well. After having EA stop by to discuss my findings and concerns, EA sent me a quote a few days later and I hired him for the job. He tore out my entire dining room exterior wall and had it rebuilt and sealed up and ready for siding in one long day. The next day EA and his helper re-installed the vinyl siding and hung new drywall and plastered the joints. The third day began a 10 day torrential downpour halting their work. While they were waiting for dry weather to return to my house to complete the work, our roof developed a leak over our bathroom. I called EA to ask if he could repair it as well when he returned and they did indeed.
Both EA and his helper were kind, knowledgeable and experienced in their trade. They both had to use skills only a home builder would have. I had a complex problem and they worked right through it. I liked the fact that they removed their shoes while walking on our new carpet and covered other walkways before walking on them. They kept the dust to a minimum and cleaned up well each day before leaving.
It was a pleasure working with them and will definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

The crew hired to take off the old metal roof and put a new one on left a lot of the bricks in the yard from tearing down an old chimney to roof level as well as the metal bands with nails that came off the old roof.  When we complained, Crockett sent someone to move the bricks to the side of the yard and raked the yard for the metal.  I continue to find nails in the yard.  The end of one of the eaves came off right away and when the guy in charge of the work was called he said he'd come and look at it but never did.  So this is the second spring that we've had starlings nesting there.  (Yes, my husband should have fixed it but that doesn't excuse shoddy work and no return of the project manager.)  Replacing the air handlers in very tight spaces was a very difficult job.  Obviously, it had been done before to even have something to replace.  But the first people to install them didn't curse.  At all.  (Don't have any kids around if this guy works at your house.)  Then he had the drain of one of them run right on the ground under the house instead of running it outside.  We called and he came back to do it right.  Next, it leaked all over the floor, twice.  It was fixed, also.  This same "electrician" botched up the bathroom.  He only had to replace the old wire with new, changing nothing.  What I have now is NO power to the baseboard heater.  He told us it had NEVER been connected!  Then how did we use it for 25 years?  I have to use a space heater now WHICH IS PLUGGED INTO A MAKESHIFT OUTLET instead of the one that was already there to the right of the sink that doesn't work anymore and he can't get it to work.  The new outlet is actually hooked up through the wall from a light switch we hadn't installed yet.  Well, we won't be doing that now.  The reason it's wired from the other side of the wall is because we rejected his initial fix.  That was to run a wire across the ceiling over the mirror.  When he took it down, it left holes in the newly finished ceiling.  The new outlet is right next to the door on the left of the mirror over the sink.  We don't have any lefties that need to dry their hair.  And we have to step over that heater to get to the sink.  It runs all the time.  The worst thing about the wiring is that they wouldn't use my diagram of which wire fed what in the house.  They just ripped them all out of the old panel and said they'd figure it out.  So, when a pipe burst on the back porch from the days and days of below freezing temperatures, my husband turned off the breaker to the well pump so we could drain the pipes and fix it.  Guess what?  That breaker DOESN'T GO TO THE WELL PUMP!  He had to go out and walk through the creek to turn it off at the well!  And back to the house to see if his fix leaked and back to the wellhouse when it was still leaking a little and back to turn it on again.  We haven't traced what wiring is actually hooked up to the well pump.  Minor things include denting my dryer when it was moved and not replacing the "hatch" in the ceiling on the back porch where they accessed the wiring.  I know there's more but I'm tired of typing.  I'll think of it when I quit, I'm sure.  It steams us that we paid so much for this work. Several people said we paid way too much.  We were too trusting and aren't the kind of people who complain.  I know that for something this major we should have, until everything was right.  How we let go when told that "this never worked" and "this outlet doesn't work anymore" I don't know.  That's our own fault.

    Dollman Construction, Inc
Mr. Dollman came to our house and helped us sketch out a floor plan for a kitchen remodel, gave us a ballpark estimate of the total cost and then emailed us a computer-generated image of how the new cabinets and appliances might look. He followed up with an email asking if we had questions, concerns or wanted to change things in the design--very professional and courteous. Another thing we liked was that, when he first arrived, he asked, "Do you cook? How often do you entertain?" He based his design suggestions on how we will use the space, rather than on some theory of how a kitchen ought to be organized. He also looked around the house at adjacent rooms that might be modified to provide additional storage space (our existing kitchen is really small). We have put this project on hold because of other things that came up, but we will definitely keep Dollman in mind in future.

    Appalachian Building Concepts
All employees involved in this project were very knowledgable, prompt, professional, and friendly.
We're very pleased with the entire process involving Appalachian Building Concepts.  Business owner Mike Motley was very prompt and professional in meeting with us right away to provide an estimate and provided the best communication you're going to find in a contractor.
Arrival times were always when they said they would be and phone calls were promptly returned if not answered right away.  They took all of our concerns seriously and provided flexibility, advice, and ideas to resolve any issues.  No project goes perfectly smooth and they worked with us without hesitation to get over any unexpected hurdles.
They were very honest and up front on any changes that needed to be made and went out of thier way to accommodate any extra requests.
They kept the final cost under the original estimate, which was a nice bonus, and were very helpful in recommending and picking up materials.
Finally, I would not hesitate to hire ABC again for future projects and would recomend them to anyone for a remodel job .

We had the impression that if the budget wasn't going to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, the company wasn't interested. The person who called wasn't rude but was not overly friendly either--I would say "curt." And rushed. I know this company is well regarded in the area and a reputable contractor. But I didn't appreciate being treated like "small potatoes" and not worth the company's time.

This was an outstanding job!  The house looks totally different!  We could not be happier and were very please with the work done by the contractor.  Their communication from start to finish was excellent.  The job got behind by a week but this was to be expected and was communicated to us about a week in advance of it occurring.  We fully expect to use them again for more work we plan to do in our home!

    Bath Fitter
They overall did a good job. They missed a few spots to caulk and they have you remove everything from the bathroom but I left a few things in there and they threw them away. They were very prompt but I wanted them to start prior to 8am. They were very professional.

We used Probuild to build an additional kitchen cabinet to match the existing cabinets in our kitchen. This pantry filled the area where our refrigerator was originally. The work was excellent and the cabinet matches the rest of the kitchen perfectly. The work was well done with excellent attention to detail. The employees with quick, prompt, and very professional.
