Home Builder reviews in Chesterfield

    Coyner Construction
I generally do not write reviews and I apologize upfront for its length. I was visiting a model home, when the actual builder of the home, Matt Coyner, walked in. My husband and I were already in a contract with another builder but when I meet Matt Coyner and as crazy as this may sound, I knew that somehow, someway he would be the one building our house. Lo and behold, my husband and I were able to get out of our original contract with our then current builder because they were not able to deliver something they promised us. Matt Coyner of Coyner Construction is a custom builder and to be honest we had never even considered having a custom home built but like I said before the moment I meet Matt I knew he was the one. However, before we move forward let us take you a step back in hindsight. When we were under our first contract with our previous builder, we were limited on the changes or modifications to the floor plans and those changes that they did allow us to make came at a cost. Heck, the builder would not even allow a meeting with the design center until after we were under contract and boy was that meeting a costly one. To be honest, as I stated, again in hindsight, our first experience with the first builder was not a great experience for us. Okay let me move forward. So here, we are under a new contract with Matt Coyner of Coyner Construction building our custom home. Did it cost more? Not really. We say that because when we factor what we would have paid for our house under the first contract versus the cost of our new home with Coyner Construction, we get more bang for our buck going custom. Let me give you some numbers so you can see how we made that conclusion: First Contract 365K; Coyner Custom Contract $415K equals a difference of $50K (more). This 50K (more) difference is still less than what we would have paid over the course of the next few years to get our house exactly the way we wanted, with all of the things we wanted. Things such as a screened in porch, extra windows added, converting upstairs to man cave, bedrooms with en suite bathroom access and of course my She-shed. By the way, the first builder stated that they could not add a She-shed to the house design. It addition to the cost to get what we wanted we would have had to endure dealing with the additional construction headaches. At Coyner Construction, the staff are professional; they use quality material and strive to ensure that the construction of your home is solid and well built. Matt is hands on, patient, friendly and really helps you design your home based on the conversations you have with him regarding your needs and wants. He has gone above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests. He is so honest and straight forth. I was also impressed when I spoke to some of his previous clients because the ALL spoke very highly of Matt, his company and the quality of his work. He is committed to building a solid quality custom home. Right now Coyner Construction is in the process of completing the framing and roofing of our custom home so I will provide you all an update later. At this point, my husband and I could not be happier with the process we experienced in designing our home and the in-progress experiences of building our custom home with Matt Coyner of Coyner Construction.

    Mike's Roofing & Siding Inc
I had to replace my entire roof on my 3 year-old home due to damage from the two hail storms in Feb & May 2017. Mike had installed the roof when my home was built, so I called him to get an estimate to put on the new roof. Mike coordinated with the insurance adjuster to inspect the roof together, and even showed me how to spot hail damage as I walked around the roof with him and the adjustor. His cost estimate was fair, and he worked with me on adding some upgrades to a better shingle and some better trim options than the builder had included in the original build. He watched the weather and coordinated with me on timing the actual removal and replacement so that my home didn't get rained on while the roof was being replaced. Mike's team was on time, and worked hard and diligently to get the work done. Mike also coordinated with other contractors (acting a general contractor) to replace all of my gutters and 9 of 11 front window screens damaged in the storms, as well as getting 2 vinyl window frames repaired instead having to remove outside siding and inside trim to replace entire window frames. This additional work took a little longer than originally anticipated, but Mike (or his wife Tracy) coordinated with me to keep me informed on when the different contractors would be scheduled. I wanted the work done right the first time, and my schedule was flexible, so I didn't mind the extra time. Mike was on site every day one of his crews or a sub's crew was working on our home, so he stayed on top of things and ensured the work was in fact done right the first time. When the Mike gave me the final invoice, the total bill was actually a little bit less than the amount the insurance company gave me to do the total work required. Mike had done or coordinated all of the work, knew how much the insurance company gave me, and yet did not try to inflate his final bill to match the insurance amount. That kind of honesty is (I think...) rare in this type of business. Bottom Line: I will hire Mike again for any future roofing or siding needs because he is honest, accurate, fair, and his work is the highest quality. Mike has my strongest recommendation to do any work you might need to get done. NOTE: I did not need any siding work because I have Hardie Plank concrete siding and the hail didn't damage it. That said, the homes all around me with vinyl siding looked like someone hit them with a shotgun. Had I needed siding work, I have no doubt Mike could have done it for either Hardie Plank or vinyl.

    Breslin LLC
Both my husband and I are thrilled with the results. We managed the
overall project but relied heavily on their professional knowledge,
experience and expertise to make changes, hired other professionals and
complete the construction.  They were extremely proficient and always
available to answer any and all questions. They are men of their word.
They were working multiple construction projects during our construction,
which often causes challenges, but not for us.  They kept us informed
when they would work on our job, as well as when they were not going to
be able to work on our job due to their other ongoing projects. They
always kept us informed of their availability and called us in the event
of any delays or issues. And most importantly, they continuously
made progress on our job ? in spite of their workload, winter from h***
and constant changes requested by us (many of which were the result of
    their better ideas and input)!
Their expert skills were apparent as we encountered challenges with our blueprints.  Our plans eliminated
a wall between a small sitting room and our existing garage to give us
more conditioned living space. This was a load baring wall.  The
blueprints reflected a dropped down beam to support the weight; however,
this would have a negative impact on the
blending and flow of these two living areas. Rather than stopping the construction, Sandy and Keith proposed
    alternatives,
consulted with county building inspectors and developed a better
solution.  They were able to place a recessed steel beam, flush with the
ceiling ? a perfect solution!  This change made quite a difference in
    our project.
They also recommended better use of available space
that we had not considered. They were very cost conscience when making
any recommendations and considered ?repurposing? of materials and
alternatives to help us minimize our outlay of money ? something that
was extremely important to us with our limited resources.
Their attitude and ability to work well together with other professionals definitely contributed to the success of
    our
project. Their working relationships with other members of the building
industry allowed us to tap varied experts to get the job done.  They
have created a network of professionals who are reliable, competent and
accessible. They trust each other?s technical capabilities and reliance.
    This informal coalition is priceless.
We plan to hire them again and highly recommend them for any job ? large or small.  We took photos during the construction
project and will gladly make them available upon request.

    Croxton's Inc
All phases were done very professionally. Detailed drawings were provided and all permits were taken care of by Mr. Croxton.
We are very pleased with the end result the shed matches our house and still looks great. Shed has a brick front, three windows a front door and a garage door in back that provides for access for the riding mower and other equipment. The shed also has a pull down ladder that provides for storage in the eaves of the building.
Mr. Croxton was very professional and crews were polite and went out of their way to make us happy with the finished product.
I would recommend him for any home improvement project small or large.

Mr. Green was prompt courteous and very friendly. He was able to come out that same day and provide me with an estimate a day later, after he checked on materials & costs to match existing fascia boards. The work was done in a timely manner & looks great!
