    Huff Construction, Inc.
I was absolutely pleased with the work that was done by Huff Construction, Inc. My husband and I had three projects we wanted to complete before the before summer; replacement vinyl window installation to include trim repair (old wooden windows left less than desirable presentation), wrapping doors, and replacement of several pieces of vinyl siding placed on the house (as a storm had decided to make our home a target using neighboring trees). All of the crews knew their jobs, worked quickly, and if we had ANY questions at all never hesitated to take the time to patiently answer and explain what we needed to know. Everything looks great! Mr. Huff was fantastic to work with. He regularly checked in with us throughout the project and asked that we contact him immediately if we had any problems or concerns. When I had questions for him I could call or text and he responded quickly. Based on this experience, we would hire Huff Construction again as the professionalism and exemplary customer service is unmatched. Thanks!

    North Hill Construction
I had a very pleasant experience with North Hill Construction. Dana's professionalism shows in his work. He is very knowledgeable and doesn't mind sharing information. Dana takes his time and pays attention to details. He was on time and cleaned up after the job was complete, which is important to me. I am very pleased with his work and I will hire him again!

    Commonwealth Energy Systems
I've never contracted with this vendor but they've started spaming me out of the blue. Apparently they picked up an email list for Richmond folks and submitted them to some service called "alignable.com" Not appreciated and less than professional. "Its Stephen from Commonwealth Energy Systems in Ashland. Id like to be able to refer customers to you, so Ive added you to my network on Alignable, a site exclusively for business owners to network with each other."

    Mr Fix It
We would definitely hire them again. They showed up on time, did the job for the price they quote, completed the job on time and correctly, cleaned up the mess after they finished, and wee courteous and friendly while they were here.

    Murray Home Improvements
We hired this crew upon recommendation from family in Virginia Beach. They came out to my home outside of Richmond and did a complete exterior makeover, in brutal heat and finished in a week. The entire crew was professional and polite (our neighbors even commented on how hard they worked and how quiet they were). The house looks amazing and we have gone from just another sad house on the block to the nicest house on the block. On a scale of 1 to 10 we give these guys a 100 and would gladly have them back out to work on our home again.

    Murray Home Improvements
We hired these guys upon recommendation from family in Virginia Beach. The crew traveled to just outside of Richmond VA to complete this job for us. They worked long hours in brutal temperatures and wrapped up the job in 6 days. The entire crew was polite and professional and the quality of the work is amazing. We have gone from having just another house in need of repair to the nicest house on the block. On a scale of 1 to 10 we give these guys a 100 and would definitely have them back to do work again.

    Zero Punch-List LLC

Weston and his team were great to work with.  Our new home lacked an office space which made it less functional for us.  My husband found a picture where the space in a two story entryway was used to create an upstairs loft.  I had another contractor come out to provide an estimate and they could not even envision what we were asking to be done.  When Weston came to view our space, he immediately started looking at the proportions and measuring the space!  I feel very fortunate for us to have found someone who could help us take our idea and make it concrete.  We did not realize it at the time, but the space was fairly small and narrow, so it could not be used to add an extra room, but with Weston's help we were able to use space from the oversized master bedroom that abutted the area to create an office and also add closet space.  Our ideas at the time were not fleshed out, because we were not sure it could be done.  Weston was instrumental in helping us to decide how we wanted to use the space and the practical realities of what could be done.  He was a great communicator and ensured that the details were discussed and executed deliberately.  Weston also created custom bookshelves for the new hallway.  He was very up front about the fact that we could buy bookshelves off the rack to put in the space for much less, but we wanted something permanent and also something that could be bolted to the wall studs for safety.  Weston is meticulous about the work that is done and will fix anything that is not done to a high standard.  I appreciated that he took the time to ensure that the paint work both in the rooms and on the custom shelving was done right.  There were some delays with the project when there was staff turnover or if someone was ill.  However, I was not on a specific timeline, so it was more important to me that the work be done correctly than that it met a deadline.  It took me a bit of time to write this review, because I was pregnant at the time and things did not settled down until recently, but I definitely wanted to provide feedback on the great job that was done.

    Townside Building and Repair INC
Steve was very punctual, showing up early every day. The work didn't exceed the estimate, and he was very good about explaining any needed changes as they came up. His knowledge of construction standards was very helpful and one of the main reasons we chose Townside. The projects listed were not done in a single contract, but over three seperate visits. The fit and finish of all of the projects are second to none. We will definitely use Townside in the future.

The Carpentry & Painting Experts LLC
They used quality Sherwin Williams paint and provided all needed in price. The interior painting, power washing and gutter cleaning was done by one person (Drew), who was punctual, professional and personable. Everything was left as it was before he came and he was extremely conscientious about doing the job right with as little interference as possible. The exterior painting was led by Randy and a team of three, and they all worked on a Saturday from early in the morning until dark and added small jobs they noted needed to be done, always explaining the need. They came back on the next Monday, finished up and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves - they all were extremely professional, hard working and pleasant with whom to work. David did the minor roof repairs and matched the work ethic of all the others I came in contact with. In giving me the estimate, Martin was very professional and thorough and pricing was much lower than expected for the difficulty and amount of work to be done. We had one small problem and that was a truck that leaked some oil on the aggregate driveway. They did not quibble about it and made two trips out to clean the stains - they did not invoice until we were completely satisfied. The only extremely minor complaint I would have is that the Scheduler, Tim, was not terribly good at letting me know what time people would be coming, though he promised always to do so. That is the only improvement I could possibly suggest for this superior company which we will definitely use again. I am already planning what I want done. It also helps that Angie's List clients get a 15% discount on painting work. Extremely happy customers!

Jacob's Ladder Siding Roofing Windows Painting
While the work was done adequately, the experience was terrible.  They subcontract all the work.  They did not show up numerous days they said they were going to and we were very frustrated with back and forth emails trying to get them to come back out and complete the job.  While the carpenter and his sons were here working they let it slip that the reason they didn?t show up one of the days is that one of the sons wouldn?t get out of bed. They did reimburse us for 2 days of doggie day care since we had to send 2 of our dogs there when they were working on the deck but the experience did not make up for it.  They were slow to get the work started which they said was a result of the special order triple door we needed.  But the job which we were told would be a 3 day job, dragged on for weeks.  The reason we had a ramp installed on the back deck was for our senior dogs. My husband who initially met with one person about the project and I who met with the ?project manager? (only once the entire job and this was before the project started) insisted that the storm door which contains the ?doggie door? be reinstalled after the triple door replacement.  When the carpenter finished installing the door I asked him to reattach it as it was in the trash pile.  He told me it could not be reattached and the ?project manager? told me the same thing. They also insisted we never said prior that we needed it reattached.  They said they knew another contractor who could attach it but it would be another $230. We had no choice as we needed this door so we had to pay this additional cost to have our own door reattached. Also, our estimate/agreement stated that they would pick up at the end of each day and a thorough cleaning done at the end of the job. This did not happen.  When the carpenters worked they repeatedly left nails, staples, screws ? some sticking straight up and cigarette butts on the deck and ground.  When they removed our stairs they left them in a pile just to the right of the ramp so the dogs could not go out to the main part of the yard.  When they were completely done, they left all the paint scrapings on the ground along with labels, wood scraps, nails, etc.  My husband almost punctured his foot when he was mowing the lawn because of two nail cartridges used in thenail guns that were left in our yard.  We brought all of this to the ?project manager?s? attention and they were ignored.  My husband and I were off the final 2 days of the job and agreed to be at home to go over the punch list with our ?project manager? while the painter finished the trim painting and deck staining.  The first day the ?project manager? asked me to tell him at noon if the deck was dry. I was so I emailed him that it was and never heard back.  I emailed again and was told they went to another job instead.  The second day we waited around too and he never showed up so I emailed and he said he was not coming but we could go over the list with the painter. The painter was nice but seemed didn't seem to know anything about the history of the job or the concerns we had- he was just supposed to collect the check.   So we had no one to go over the job with.
We felt they did not care if we were satisfied with the job they wanted to be done with us.  I am sure they will say we were difficult clients, but we just wanted the job done in a reasonable amount of time, what was stated on the contract to be completed, and for work to be done when they said they were going to do it.  I don?t think that was too much to ask considering we spent all of our savings on this project.
