    J Montes Inc
Overall, the entire process went smoothly and quickly. Galel arrived on time to quote the job and provided us with pertinent information so that we could make our decision. We were able to get on the schedule right away and within 1 week of quoting, our roof was replaced. They completed the entire job in one day, including having the dumpster picked up the same evening. All of the debris was removed and the walkways/deck/driveway were completely clean when they left. John coordinated everything the day of execution, and was helpful in answering questions. Plus, their price was very competitive!

    Atlantic Craftsman Co
We have nothing but GREAT things to say about our experience with Atlantic Craftsman. Mike was our project lead and he was absolutely amazing. Mike is extremely knowledgeable with dealing with insurance companies and the roofing industry in general. He guided us through the entire claims process and was responsive to us from start to finish. Joe, the owner, was very friendly and proactive from the start. Both of these gentlemen are very professional, honest, have excellent customer service and do quality work. Our roof was installed a couple of weeks ago and we love it! It looks amazing and the crew cleaned up so well leaving our yard free of debris and nails. Our transactions were seamless and now we are very happy with our new roof!

    METRO WOOD WORKS INC
In 2017 we utilized Steve Croxton and his Metro Wood Works (MWW) team to remodel a screened-in porch. During that job he let me know they were rebranding their roofing division as roof757.com. Needing our roof replaced due to leaks (and to ensure I was picking the right roofing system/contractor), I contacted several companies to include MWW. Of the various bids, I saw a variety of knowledge, professionalism, and pricing in the bids. While much cheaper, I immediately eliminated the companies that hadn't been in business long or simply didn't explain their process/materials (as this is a long term investment). I narrowed it down to 3 contractors that used manufacturer backed warranties (Owings Corning & GAF). All three were professional and well trained in the sales process. After doing some research on GAF and their installer (not in business very long), I eliminated them and focused on the two Owings Corning contractors with MWW being one of the two. MWW's competitor was very polished during the sales process. He was so polished it was evident he was in sales previously and he admitted he had only been selling roofing for "a year or so." That was evident as it seemed he was making up answers to my questions. It was apparent he was there for the sale and would never be around again. He provided a price that was higher than anyone else, but then came back with the "we'll lower the price if you want to start today, etc." I don't like those tactics as it seems he was just lowering the price when I told him he was much more expensive (he couldn't explain why he was more expensive). He finally said he would bear anyone else's price (again, seemed desperate). We selected MWW based on our previous positive experience with them. Comparing all of the contractors, Steve's 30+ years in business was evident as he was the most knowledgeable. He explained the roofing system (as the three finalists did), but took the time to explain the technical detail of the technology behind the system and what is important and what isn't for our area. He was the only one that could truly answer why he was or wasn't recommending a particular option. As with the previous project, he communicated a projected start date and let us know anything that could change that date (rain). He was able to lock in the date and gave us notice so we could pull our pictures off the upstairs wall (he provided many suggestions like that). The materials arrived and the crew worked in sections just in case we received rain (which they were monitoring). I liked their process as I had seen a neighbor's roof completely removed and it rained that evening (they picked a budget contractor). They also do other things as part of their process such as check for obstructions in the attic (e.g. A/C lines, electric wires, etc.) that could cause issues down the road. They worked as diligently as possible to keep as much debris out of the yard by keeping everything clean. Unfortunately, a stray shingle did hit an outdoor side light and damaged the light (one of two matching lights). MWW immediately apologized for the issue and replace the light. They even took the extra time to ensure we were o.k. with both lights matching as they wanted us to be 100% satisfied. In speaking with another neighbor, their contractor (the one we didn't select) damaged several windows and siding and wouldn't fix the damage as "it was part of the process." I'm so glad MWW stood up and did the right thing! After the job was complete, the crew did a thorough sweep of the yard, landscaping, gutters, driveway, and even into our cul-de-sac. The owner even came back out for a Q&A inspection to ensure everything was picked up. I'm glad we selected MWW!

    J Montes Inc
I wish I could give J. Montes Roofing 100 stars!!! Their quote was excellent. From start to finish I was so pleased with how the job was handled. I dealt with Heather, the office Manager to John the project manager and the wonderful roofers who gave us a beautiful new roof. It was so refreshing to deal with a company that WILL return a phone call, answer questions, and keep me notified every step of the way. I was treated like a valued customer with much respect from all who work here. The roofing crew worked like a "fine oiled machine" from start to finish. The roofers started on a Friday when the weather was beautiful and 70 degrees. Of course, only in Tidewater, the next day would be 38 degrees and raining, but, lo and behold, they were back to finish the job. They are all very pleasant folks to work with!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent Work. On Time, Cleaned Up after the job, very professional work. Work entailed roof replacement on a house over 103 ft in length. Also, a chimney was removed. Contractor provided the right number of workers to accomplish the task in two days. Very pleased with the work.

    Best Roofing of Virginia
We were very pleased with all aspects of our roofing project with Best Roofing of Virginia. The project manager, Ty provided excellent customer service, helpful advice, and constant contact from the estimate all the way through to the completion of the installation. He was the only roofer from three companies who actually climbed on the roof and conducted a thorough inspection prior to providing an estimate. Edgar and his roofing crew were punctual, hardworking, and did an excellent job cleaning our property once the project was complete. Although not the cheapest of our three estimates, we decided to hire Best Roofing of Virginia because of their excellent customer reviews, their designation as a GAF Master Elite Contractor, and the great customer service provided by Ty. We feel the slight difference in price was worth the peace of mind and comfort in knowing that the job was done right.

    Quality Built Exteriors
This is a update on the problem that I posted about with rain water shooting past the gutter and onto my porch at the front door. Quality Built Exteriors did finally come and replaced the gutters on the front of the house with a larger size. The work was done September 25. The work looks very nice as it did when the job was originally done in October 2016. Has it fixed the problem? I cannot say because we have not had any rain storms or thunderstorms in October or November to be able to say. We normally have that kind of weather in the spring and summer sometimes early fall. But not this year or last year. Which is why I called the company the first time that following spring after the original work was done. The problem didn't show itself until we actually had the weather to expose it. My home was built in the early 1960's and as I said in my earlier post there was never a problem with the old gutters handling the water. And yes, I did want them covered because I can no longer climb a ladder and clean them myself nor can I paint the trim. Those two things were a big influence on my decision to have this work done. I really do hope that these gutters will solve my problem because it is not a problem that I can just ignore. I am rating the job a C because they did replace the gutters and it looks good and I was not charged.

    Quality Built Exteriors
I hired "Quality Built Exteriors" in September, 2016 to wrap the house trim and replace the gutters. I am physically unable to take care of painting trim or cleaning gutters which is what caused me to make the decision to have this work done. They came a month later, October, to do the work. The person that did the gutter didn't speak English so he had an "interpreter" with him. I later learned that he could understand and speak English. After the work was done it did look real nice but then we had a heavy rain storm and I had place on the front of my house where the water was not going past the gutter because the gutter couldn't handle the water. I called the company told them about it and showed them pictures I took so they could see what I was talking about. Their solution was to put what they called a dam which was another piece of gutter material attached to the front of the new gutter. That was supposed to make the water go into the gutter and prevent it from blowing by the gutter and shooting off the roof. I did not want that eye sore on the front of my house. I did not have that problem with my old gutters. But I replaced them because no one would cover them and I can no longer clean them myself. So they finally came while I was not at home to see what they did and uncovered that portion of my gutter and put a type of material in the gutter which was supposed to keep the debris out. I call the stuff a foam Except that doesn't work. So after a while the debris gets in the gutter and stops it up. Not to mention that I paid for the gutters to be covered. All of them. So this Spring, 2018, the problem returned except it is worse. Now I did not know that that was what had been done until a family member was able to go up and look at it and tell me. So now when it rains I can't stand at my front door because the water pours over so bad. It's worse than standing in a shower. I called them but they use an answering service and they wouldn't return my call. So I finally went to the office. They said they would fix it. They didn't. Finally Mr. Massengill, Jr. came and looked at it. He did not want to see my pictures. He called me back and said they would replace the gutter on the front with a larger size and they would not charge me. He said they wanted to make it right. I appreciate the thought. That was on July 19, 2018. It is now September 20, 2018 and they have yet to come to do anything. I have called and have gone back to the office twice. They have set a date and once even a time to do the work but they don't show up or call. I did not ask them to do this for nothing. Mr. Massengill, Jr. made that choice. Nice thought but it is meaningless if you don't ever do it. I am an older woman so ladies beware!!!! By the way, they had no problem getting the payment. I paid promptly upon completion in 2016. I had a partial roof replaced about 1.5 years ago. After it rained water would come down the side of my entry way of the front door.Atlantic craftsman came out actually it was the owner.I explained in full detail what was going on and that the roof had been recently replaced and what was happening now.I also explained that the prior roofer claimed it wasnt the roof he put on wasnt the problem it was the construction. He recommended replacing the roof.I signed off on the work because it hadnt rained since the work was completed. Then it rained and not only was the problem still there but it was now leaking on the other side.I called them and they sent a repairman over.He said it wasnt the roof but the siding from the construction.I made several calls although they claim that I never called about this issue except when I hung up on their receptionist. Then they tell me they also do siding and would be happy to send their siding guy out to give me an estimate.I paid them 2600.00 for a roof now they want to sell me siding. Why didnt the owner with the prior information say lets look at the siding? He either doesnt know his business or he took advantage of me.He has now accused me of slander because of a review I wrote on google. All I want is my roof not leak and not get ripped off.

Bevins Roofing & Home Improvements LLC
I called and was able to schedule someone to come take a look within a week (on March 21). He informed me that a subcontractor would have to come out to give an estimate because of the metal material. I have lost count of the number of calls I have made to this company, all with promises (including from the owner) that the estimate and letter of inspection promised would be ready by end of day or end of week. After 2 months when I had more time I found a different company... given the lack of follow through at getting an estimate and empty promises I wouldn't dare hire this company.
