Knee Care reviews in Chesapeake

Some of the doctors are great. They listen to your concerns, diagnosis your problem and then recommend the appropriate treatment. However, some doctors don't want to bother, won't listen to your concerns and rush you out the door. Some are very biased based on body size. Read reviews on the individual doctors before you choose one.

I would give him a top of the line recommendation. He has a great office staff. He is an excellent physican and a great person. We continue to see him for follow-up exams and other orothpedic problems.

The surgery was done August of last year, and I'm still in a lot of pain, can't run, and can't do any of the things I had done before. I have been through two different physical therapists and nothing seems to help. After the second round of physical therapy, which let me feel that something was definitely still wrong with my knee, he ended up ordering an MRI. The MRI showed that there was a bone bruise on my knee, and he said he had no idea how that got there. He seems to forget what we have discussed: as one example, he mentioned a shot that he could give me into my knee to help with the pain on one visit. The next time I was there I asked him about it, and he acted surprised and told me that he couldn't possibly do that. I am not sure if he originally made a mistake with the surgery or not, but it bothers me that he and his staff are not taking responsibility for helping me recover or admitting if anything has gone wrong. Before I went into his office, I was in a better situation than I am now, both in terms of pain and functionality. When I asked staff members questions, they did not even bother directing my questions to a nurse or doctor, but just told me there were too many patients to take the time to answer questions to each one. There are often long waits as well to see the doctor. The doctor did give me the head nurse's contact info so that I was able to get ahold of her, and that was definitely nice. At the end of the day, it didn't help to fix anything in terms of my knee, though. I would always go in and talk to them about the copays, since I would always pay the day I saw them. Sometimes I would receive bills in the mail asking me to pay for things that I had already paid in person. The last time I was in there, they told me I owed 40 dollars for a copay that I had just paid them.

My husband was told that both knees were bone on bone and that shots would not help him anymore. We asked for a recommendation and was recommended to several doctors. We had never used Angie's List before but thought this may be our best bet for my husband. He had put this off for 10 to 12 years. After seeing several reviews we decided to make an appointment with Dr. Nguyen. This truly was a God send. My husband was always concerned with being laid up after surgery like he had heard from other patients. This did not happen with Dr. Nguyen's procedure. He had total knee replacement on one knee in November 2012 and total knee replacement on the other knee in February 2013. He has done remarkably well. It is so nice to see him walk like a normal person and have him go shopping with me. We played golf two weeks after surgery and he was able to do it without taking pain medication. I can't begin to tell you the difference in our lives. I can only say the Dr. Nguyen has been Divine Intervention for us. I would recommend him to anyone needing this type of surgery. We hand out his business cards to anyone who thinks they may need his services.

He is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I am currently recuperating from the surgery. We have used him in the past for some different orthopedic work. I would rate him highly not only as a physician and a surgeon but also as a person. I would continue to use him in the future; in fact, as soon as this knee is done, I am going to do the other one.
