    Terrible experience, made me want to cry while sitting in the waiting room. I'm not the kind of person who makes a big stink in waiting rooms or at customer service desks. I'm very patient and understanding. Today I called ahead for an appointment for an eye exam and the woman over the phone retrieved my personal information to start my file. I then came in at my scheduled appointment time. NO ONE WAS THERE. I sat for a solid 30 minutes, I could hear chatter in the diagnostic room but still no one came out to greet me. Three more people came in into the right little stuffy space. It felt awkward really fast. I felt like I was sitting in a cess pool of miserable people. Right then and there I should have left. But what was I thinking I STAYED and I waited. Another 30 minutes goes by and the doctor comes out and helps a lady who was already seated there before me. She goes back into the back room and I'm left sitting there again. I feel stupid, I feel dumb and I should of walked out. 20 minutes later a dad and young girl walk in, they jump in front of me and act like they're in a rush when the assistant comes back from what seems like a 2 hour lunch break. She immediately helps them and ignores me. FINALLY an hour and half after waiting there someone finally said something. The assistant hands me a couple forms to fill out and the doctor takes the man and the little girl back. Random people come in with needs for copies, records or phone calls and they are immediately help. 45 minutes later I'm STILL in the waiting room still waiting to go in for my eye exam. I finally decided to walk out. I will never return to that dump again. You wasted over 2 hours of my time on a holiday weekend while my husband, kids and my dog were waiting in the vehicle and/or trying to kill time in Sam's club waiting for me. Never again!

    It was excellent.  He staff was efficient and we were in and out in only 35 minutes from the time we walked in the door, and that included registration, new patient orientation, tests, examinations and complete discussion.  He offered additional help that had not been previously offered and discussed potential options.  His manner and that of his staff were all outstanding.  Professional, friendly and competent.  Not only will be taking her back there from now on, but my wife and I will be transferring to him this next year.

    I arrived for my eye check-up and was given a form that I was to sign stating that I would be responsible for anything the insurance company wouldn't cover.  The receptionist clarified that if a procedure was covered to a certain amount by the insurance, I was responsible for the rest.  This was not presented as a co-pay situation.  I took it as whatever the provider wanted to charge would be split between me and the insurance company.  I didn't like that at all, so I left and will find a doctor who accepts the insurance I have.



    Availability - Two weeks wait for an appointment seemed long

    Punctuality - I was able to get to the front desk shortly after my arrival

    Staff friendliness - Average  (nothing extraordinarily good or bad)

    Communication - I was having a tough time understanding what it was the receptionist was saying.  When I decided to leave I understood that I would have signed a promise to pay anything that the insurance wouldn't.

    Very efficient staff, and willing to help. Salesperson explained all of our options and answered any questions thoroughly.  Just like advertised, glasses were made in about one hour. My teenage daughter was pleased with the glasses. We needed them in a rush because her only pair broke, and we were heading out of town. Very satisfied.

    We have always enjoyed the service from Dr. Gontarek.  She is very personable and takes great care of us.  There are no issues with scheduling and their availability. We will continue to use them as long as we live in the area.

    Knowledgeable.  I have used them before and with my insurance went to a different provider the last time.  What a mistake. Soooo right back to Sam's Club i went.  The best most durable longest lasting glassed i have ever owned.

    Dr Holcomb always treats me as if I am his only patient of the day. He is very informative and patient and goes out of his way to be sure I understand everything he is telling me about the options I have for my eye care. On this particular visit Dr. Holcomb was 'training' a new intern. He too was very friendly and was not rushing through his part of my appt. It is a pleasure to have such a caring doctor looking out for me and my health.

    His office staff was very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned with my issue. Dr. Holcomb was very reassuring and competent. After a thorough exam he prescribed some prescription eye drops which apparently worked as I am all better now. I would recommend him to any who needed the services of an eye doctor.

    I really like him. I've gone to some other ones that weren't as thorough. He keeps up with all the newest equipment and everything that comes out. He looks at all the medications we're taking. If there's anything that you have that might have a bearing on your eyes, he lets you know. He's very soft spoken and he takes the time to explain everything and some of the doctors don't do that now. They're in a hurry to get you in and get you out and he's just very good about that. I've been there for 20 years and I'd go back to him again. I really like them. The staff changes quite a bit. You never know who you're gonna talk to. They're reasonably available. Office environment is nice. He's pretty good on punctuality. They're overly friendly sometimes. He's excellent on chair side manner. I have to keep an eye on that because they don't always get their billing right with the insurance company and I'm sure they have to deal with the invoice turnover. I would use him again.

    They did a wonderful job. That's Dr. Dara Barbash. She does an amazing job. It went fine. We've been going to her for years. She is very efficient. She is very honest. She does an amazing job managing the patient, managing her time. I really appreciate having a good eye doctor.


    It's inexpensive. It's not expensive at all. We have to pay for her contacts when part of the exam, but it's not very much money, so it's very reasonable.


    There is one thing. She now offers a year's worth of contacts at the same price as the big box retails. Her contact lens, she sells directly to the public at a very competitive price.


    When we make an appointment, we usually get in there within less than a week and I don't think I've ever waited more than 15 minutes to see her. It's usually very quick. She is actually becoming quite popular, but she is still maintaining a quick and efficient way of getting patients move through her office.


    My kids really like her, very friendly. They like the way that she treats them. She is very personable. It's not oafishness or standoffish like some doctors are. She is very personable which is very important when you're trying to establish rapport with the patient.


    I've been going to her for probably four years now, maybe even longer than that. Because I am actually the person who put Dr. Barbash on Angie's List.
