    Ace Home Improvements
Brilliant! This is my second time using Ace Home Improvements (and specifically, Josh as the lead builder on the team). The first was a 16'x18' pressure treated deck they built for me. That went so well, I hired them again for the 6' privacy fence around my backyard. The fence is perfect, including working through some tough issues with a sloped backyard... it came out better than I could have imagined. I'll definitely be hiring Ace (and Josh) the next time I need work done. Outstanding work, great value for the price, and highly professional! A+++

    General Home Improvements
Great job! Very satisfied. Professional attitude and did things right. Work involved high work on 2 story house, but was all small jobs, which these days it is difficult to find someone willing to accomplish. Jim came with needed tools, equipment and material, and knew how to properly use same. Worked safely. Careful to not cause damage to gutters or shingle overhang. To save the owner money, owner provided lumber, moulding, and/or repair pieces. Jim knew just what and how to do what I needed done and did not waste provided material. It was noteworthy was that he wasn't on his cell phone every few minutes. I appreciated that because most contractors I've observed in the last 2 decades spend half their time when on the job on their cell phone -- not thinking about getting the job at hand done, and done right. Stuck to estimate quoted and didn't try to "pad" the fee.

    Decked Out Builders
From the start this was a spectacular experience. We enthusiastically recommend Glenn Stagg and Decked Out for any deck project. His technicians, Mike and Eric, are two of the most professional and pleasant individuals we have ever had the pleasure to work with. Glenn first came for an estimate. He was very professional. He didnt simply ask what we wanted, but made recommendations as well. Some suggestions were different than what wed wanted. He didnt simply agree if he felt strongly, but had an open-minded discussion with us to make decisions. This process continued throughout the project, including Mike and Eric, who asked questions and made recommendations throughout, to be sure we not only had what we wanted, but also what they thought was best. After Glenn made an estimate, he was able to get the project started more quickly, and at a similar or better price, than several competing estimates. He got a permit from the city, which was delayed a bit as we had not previously gotten neighborhood HOA approval. The demolition had already started, which was great in the interest of time, but concerned us that we would have no deck at all for a longer time (to let our dogs out, etc). That was only a minor delay, that we couldve avoided by requesting HOA approval before starting. They demolished and removed our old deck and replaced it with a 500 sq ft Azek deck including benches, planters and steps, as well as lighting. Glenn, Eric and Mike had recommendations along the way regarding trim, lights, steps, and posts that led to a beautiful result, the details of which we would not have designed on our own. They were incredibly personable and professional, and left every day having cleaned up, leaving our place looking better than when they arrived. The project took 4 weeks, which was longer than Id guessed, with some delays from weather and the HOA issue. We also slowed them down a few times, asking them to re-work a few things which werent exactly what we wanted (not knowing what to ask until seeing it done sometimes). Despite all this, they finished before the deadline I had asked them to meet. The final price was exactly the same as the estimate ($19000). Wed agreed that any lighting would be above the total, and the lighting prices were exactly as Glenn predicted (13 lights with transformer, timer and installation for about $1300). We have lived in many homes in our 30 years together, and have worked with many excellent contractors. This is comfortably the best experience weve ever had.

Jim was great. We had a lot of little projects that needed finishing up as well as a few larger ones and he took care of them all. Quality work; quick service. We extended the scope of the initial project with him because of speed and quality of the initial work done.

    METRO WOOD WORKS INC
My apologies for the long review, but I think Metro Wood Works (MWW) deserves it! We had a need for our screened-in porch to be remodeled. The contractor that previously built the porch didnt use pressure treated wood nor did he take precautions to limit the amount of water that would flow onto the porch (its a slab and ended up being lower than our pool). This created a large amount of water damage. We received several bids from various contractors. From the moment Steve Croxton arrived onsite, he was able to diagnose issues with the original build and make recommendations (he was the only contractor to do so the others simply asked what I wanted and bid the job on those specifications). Steve was very upfront on what they expected to encounter and communicated potential issues that may arise during a remodel (one never truly knows what is behind a wall!). Steve provided us with different options and explained the pros/cons to each option (to include price differences). I really liked having someone work with us on the design vs. being handed a cookie cutter design. Likewise, he was very open to us using another vendor for carpeting (as we turned it from a screened-in porch to a multi-season room with the Eze-Breeze windows he suggested). They had a backlog of work, thus couldnt start immediately (I saw this as a positive as I always wonder about the company that can start a large job that day!). Steve provided status updates and started earlier than expected. With construction, I always worry about a good sales team that simply pitches the work over to a subcontractor and is non-existent until payment is due. Steve was onsite either all day or several times a day to ensure everything was running smoothly with his employees. We did run into a weather delay (not their issue) and he asked if he could bring in a subcontractor to work side-by-side with his team to get back on schedule. It was evident even his subcontractor was hand-picked as they worked as one unit. During the remodel, they found termite damage (once the siding and old sheathing was removed). They immediately brought it to our attention and provided options. They rearranged their schedules/tasks and worked with our new termite provider so they could ***** the situation. I liked that MWW readjusted to other tasks vs. leaving and going to another job. The termite repair required an entire window to be removed, framing replaced, the window replaced, and the inside plaster work redone. MWW completed the work and coordinated all of this to happen all in one day so the inside of our home wasnt disrupted that evening. Most contractors would have left us with a piece of plastic over the window for days! The team member he used to fix the swirl plaster on the inside took his time and you literally cannot tell it was repaired (which is very difficult for swirl plaster work). A key item of a reputable company for me is problem resolution. During the planning phase, both Steve and I assumed on a color selection. Unfortunately, we didnt notice the problem until the material was delivered. I brought it up to MWW and I was amazed how understanding they were (as we both assumed a different color). They could have easily been like most contractors and put that on the homeowner. Instead, they called the supplier and had my color choice delivered at no extra cost to me. I was not only impressed by this, but also how MWW took the time to point out how they document that selection on their new contracts to avoid any confusion in the future. Im also firm believer in service after the sale. After completing our punch list and final payment, I noticed something I had pointed out verbally to the team (minor aesthetic item) that wasnt completed. Most organizations would simply state the job was completed and request a change order for more $ to complete the work. MWW was out to my house within a couple of days to complete the task no questions asked and were very polite. It's great receiving so many compliments on our porch!

    Quality Built Exteriors
Spectacular job from beginning to end. Let me start by saying I was approached by a very nice young lady who knocked on my door named Diana. I NEVER entertain door knockers but this young lady was very friendly and professional so I allowed her in. She set me up with an appointment to have an estimate. The salesperson Mr. ****** showed up and was knowledgeable and seemed to be interested in helping me with what I could afford to do instead of pushing me into work that I could not afford. The gentleman that did the work was efficient and very good at what he does although his name escapes me. Mr. ****** kept me informed of the schedule changes due to materials being ordered and coming in at different times. If you want a professional company at a fair price and excellent customer service call the folks at Quality Built Exteriors.

    Decked Out Builders
Glenn Stagg and his team at Decked Out Builders were top notch and extremely professional. To begin with, Glenn came to us for a timely estimate that was the best price we received from multiple estimates. Glenn listened to our concerns, needs and provided suggestions. He patiently gave us time to make decisions including our considering the many material and color options. The team always arrived on time and even were able to start our deck earlier than originally promised. The crew was polite, and cleaned up each day. We selected a Timbertech composite deck in Antigua Gold and couldn't be more pleased with the material, color and workmanship. The builders with Decked Out Builders, led by Glenn Stagg are excellent, seasoned craftsmen. All permits were obtained and the workmanship passed with flying colors. Decked Out Builders has my highest recommendation as they are honest, communicative and hard working and we couldn't be more happy with their product and service. Thanks Glenn and Decked Out Builders!!

    Signature Deck and Pergola Co.
Todd Phillips and company did an outstanding job building my deck from scratch. They are the only company which could build a cable rail in this area at a reasonable price. They install using wood and cable with stainless steel top rails. Slightly more expensive than wood rails and pockets but we wanted to have a clear view of our yard and tidal water. Everything was done correctly and better than code. Even the city inspector was impressed.

Mr. Taormina and his team really are a GREAT example of what customer service means when you REALLY want it. The knowledge of product, professionalism, and execution was topnotch. Harry and Wayne continued to keep me informed of the project status at all times. There was never a question of the crew being on time, completing the job, and most importantly cleaning up! We, now use our outdoor living space 3 to 4 times a week. Highly recommend Taormina Outdoor Living.

    Decks for Less
Decks for Less did an outstanding job on our deck and fence. Ronnie and his team were very professional, friendly, easy to talk to and they took pride in their work. Ronnie worked with us on what part we would like done first and always ommunicated with me during the Installation. After the project was completed, our deck and fence looked phenomenal. My wife and I are extremely happy with how the deck and fence turned out. Decks for Less is very resonable and I would highly recommend Ronnie and his team. Thank you very much Ronnie, we will use you again. Alvin D., Chesapeake, VA. 2-24-2018
