Central Virginia Services, Inc. of Va.
We've moved to new house. From home inspection, we found that AC is not working, which due to Freon leaking. The seller hired two HVAC companies (I would tell you their names if you want to) to investigate, but they did not find that Freon leak from a evaporate coil. We hired Central Virginia Service ourselves. They replaced the evaporate coil. I didn't compare the price, but we trust this guy will do his job well. I hope he will take good care of our system for good.

I had a big leakage in the kitchen sink and could not use it any more. Excellent and affordable service. The yang technician, Shane, investigated the situation very carefully. Identified the cause of big leakage behind the cabinet wall, found effective solution how to fix the problem with the minimal damages to constructions, repaired the system and verified that everything is fine. I am very grateful!

Great experience. We mistakenly called Sears first to fix our Whirlpool washer. Waited 10 days for their guy to come and based on the washer's error code but without looking inside it at all, he said, "it needs a new pump; that'll be $350 and take 10 days." We then called Davis; their guy came the next day and fixed it right away--cleaned the clogged drain & filter; the pump was fine--for $85. Very nice guy, very professional. Great service, fair price.

    Sears Appliance Repair
Whirlpool washer was flashing an error code. We called Sears; soonest they could come was 10 days later. When the guy arrived, he quickly concluded--based on the error code alone, without looking inside the washer at all--"you need a new pump; that'll be $350 and take 10 days." We paid $55 for the visit but declined the service. Then we called Davis Appliance, which sent a guy the next day who fixed it immediately for $85 (by cleaning the clogged filter and drain; the pump is fine).

    Darren Smith Appliance Repair
Darren called me back on a weekend re: a broken high efficiency washer I own at a rental house. He relayed to me the cost of the parts, expected labor, and anticipated life cycle of these units, allowing me to make an informed, rational financial decision (which was to replace the washer, not repair it). Not sure how many people would take 15 minutes out of a Saturday to call back and provide an explanation that will result in a purchase, not a repair. Next time I need an appliance repaired I will definitely be giving him a call!!!

    Darren Smith Appliance Repair
The tenant living in my backyard guest house reported that the refrigerator had stopped working. He told me he had tried to unplug it and plug it in again, and had tried the breaker switches, but he couldn't get it to work, so I called Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith was able to come look at it the day after I called him, which was great. He arrived on time. He asked if I had tried to plug it into another outlet, and I told him no, as my tenant had tried the breaker switches, and it didn't occur to me that it was an issue with the outlet. Mr. Smith plugged it into another outlet and it turned right on. He advised me to call an electrician as it seemed my outlet had stopped receiving electricity. Then he asked me to pay him $85 for the home visit. He spent a maximum of 5 minutes in the house. I do understand he needs to cover his time and travel expenses, but it would have gone a lot further with me if he had waived the fee or even requested maybe half of it. He truly just plugged the fridge into a different outlet. I've had repair people do a lot more than that, and not charge a fee. Instead, they've just asked me to keep them in mind for future repairs and recommend them to friends, which I certainly do. Things like that go a long way in terms of building trust and loyalty. Mr. Smith asked me to keep him in mind for appliance repairs in the future, but I'm unlikely to call him again after paying $85 for a 5 minute visit! After his visit, I felt stupid for not thinking to try another outlet, and I felt slightly fleeced for paying $85 for someone to do it for me!

    Sears Appliance Repair
A Sears tech came out to repair our washer and had to order a part. It took over 10 days to arrive, we then had call to confirm new appointment, days later. When a new tech came out he said the other tech ordered the wrong part. He charged me for a new part said he couldn't take back the old part. We need to wait for the new part to arrive and now the repair is scheduled for another 10 days from now. I would never use these guys again, by the time this gets fixed we will have been without a washer for about a month.

    Darren Smith Appliance Repair
Darren checked out our refrigerator and replaced regulator parts that were worn out causing inefficient cooling or poor cooling in the main refrigerator. He explained the problem, offered alternatives and gave me excellent advice on routine maintenance for the future. He is a very efficient and friendly worker. Cost included new parts and labor.

    Davis Appliance LLC
I called the first time and spoke to someone who was supposed to "pass along the message" and get a call back. That did not happen which was disappointing. A few days later I called again and was able to make an appointment directly. They were able to come a few days later and take a look. It was $90 for a first visit and diagnosis. After ordering parts, the second visit for the actual repairing was an additional $60. Relatively fair price based on other vendor's work. They were punctual, professional, and the work was satisfactory.
