    Wolanski, Dr. Edward T.
Dr. Wolanski is great. He worked with me so that I could have the unmedicated VBAC I was seeking.  Most of my OB appointments were fast and ho-hum, but during the delivery he really shone. He was calm as can be during my labor and delivery, and put me at infinite ease.  He's delivered over ten thousand babies, and experience has made him a maestro in the delivery room.

    Siva Thiagarajah MD,MBBS,BS
Dr. Thiagarajah is a very competent, kind physician. He is a master of the ultrasound and although he did not do my 12 week one, he says he can often determine the s** of the baby at that point. I have nothing but positive things to say about his personality, professionalism and bedside manner. I will be very honest and say that you often have to wait a long time to be seen. Sometimes an hour or so after your appointment time and then sometimes there were long waits in the examination room as well. The front desk staff sometimes discussed patients within my hearing, which of course made me wonder if they were discussing me in front of other patients. I did not find them particularly friendly either. They never made any billing or scheduling mistakes, though, so I have no complaints as to how they executed their jobs. Bottom line: Dr. T is an excellent doctor but some of the other aspect of his office were less polished.

    Jefferson Obgyn Ltd
I think Jefferson Ob is a practice that works for a lot of patients, but it didn't work for me. I had a documented history of miscarriage, and when I came to the office for prenatal care I didn't get the medical support that I needed and suffered an additional miscarriage. They ordered blood work that revealed I was hypothyroid (a condition associated with early miscarriage) and referred me to an endocrinologist, but the appointment they set was for a month away and they did not prescribe the thyroid medications that I needed despite repeated questioning and requests from me. They could have called the endocrinologist for dosage advice if they were unsure. After my miscarriage (confirmed at my first ultrasound), I received absolutely no follow-up phone calls, instructions to make a follow-up appointment, or follow-up care). I decided that I was just a body in this practice, and I sought out other providers who would be more invested in my care and well-being. For the record, I don't believe they caused my subsequent miscarriage, but the rotating team of doctors that I saw at each prenatal visit meant that no one professional took interest in my case beyond the appointment at hand, and opportunities to pursue treatments that would (eventually) result in a successful pregnancy were missed.

    UVA Physicians Women Northridge
I have been a patient of Dr. Bray at UVA Physicians for Women at Northridge since 2008 until present (2014). She has provided knowledgeable and compassionate care for me from regular GYN exams to advice and referrals on fertility treatments to prenatal checkups and postnatal care.
Though Dr. Bray has been my main care provider, in the months before I had my baby, I saw all of the physicians in the practice so I could meet them all in case they were on call when it was time for the birth. Dr. Sopata ended up being on call and delivered our baby and was amazing during the birth and the following days, but all of the physicians we saw were friendly and knowledgeable.
The office staff is great and extremely sensitive to any issues or problems, and has always treated me with kindness and respect. The nurses are similarly great to work with.
I would highly recommend this practice, Dr. Bray, and UVA Physicians for Women at Northridge for OB/GYN and the UVA Hospital for giving birth. Martha Jefferson gets a lot of praise, but I can't speak highly enough of my experience and treatment at Northridge and UVA for the birth of our baby and postnatal care/lactation consultants at UVA.

    Jefferson Obgyn Ltd
I've been seeing Susan Woodson, NP, in this office for 3 years for my annual exams. I'm always seen on time. Ms. Woodson is quick and efficient without making you feel rushed at all. She takes time to listen and is the first provider to perform my annual exam without causing me any physical discomfort. She has also performed biopsies on me that although painful (can't get around that) were over very quickly. I highly recommend this provider!

    Wolanski, Dr. Edward T.
I highly recommend Dr. Wolanski and his practice. He delivered my first son in March and I saw him for all my pre-natal care. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and because my husband and I were highly anxious with my second pregnancy, he recommended an ultrasound at 8 weeks (if you get a heartbeat then, the miscarriage risk drops to 1%, the lowest it will get). Because they don't have ultrasounds in office, we were at the hospital, and he jogged over from his office during our ultrasound so he could give us the good news then. The rest of my experience was just as good. I ended up having a c-section after a long and difficult labor, and the scar is very clean and has healed very quickly.
I've heard people say that he is a stickler about weight gain during pregnancy, but the truth is, the only time he commented on mine was when I asked about it. As long as we live in Charlottesville, I'll stay with this practice.

    Hullfish, Dr. Kathie L.
The office staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Hullfish was kind, a great listener, and very detailed with my exam. She explained my condition in terms that I understood, with my husband in the room. I chose to have surgery and couldn't be happier. They should clone Dr. Hullfish!

    Jefferson Obgyn Ltd
I was delighted with my experience at Jefferson OB-GYN, and with Dr Woodson in particular. The staff was very friendly and professional, and they were efficient without making me feel rushed. I needed an IUD to control very heavy bleeding (and I can't take birth control pills), but I expelled the first one I got. That one was NOT inserted by folks at Jefferson and I later learned that the doc who did that insertion had performed a total of three insertions in her entire career. Having an IUD inserted is no fun, expelling one is awful, and I was really relieved that Dr. Woodson's experience and skill made my second insertion much better. I'm happy to say that I've had the device for almost two years with no problems, and I will definitely be returning to the practice when I need the current device replaced.
** A little bit of background -- I have never been pregnant, which means I'm slightly more likely to expel an IUD than someone who has been pregnant. However, Dr. Woodson adjusted the time of my insertion relative to my cycle to make the whole enterprise more likely to succeed. There are some docs who won't even perform an insertion on nulliparous women (which is ridiculous, plenty of scientific studies to back up their safety and efficacy in np women), so I was glad to find this practice.

    Siva Thiagarajah MD,MBBS,BS
I have seen Dr. Thiagarajah for over 23 years and I have ALWAYS had a very positive experience! He delivered three babies for me by c-section. Everything went smoothly and all my babies are healthy. I now take my daughter to him. I highly recommend him!!

    Wamoff, Dr. Christine O
Dr. Wamhoff is accessible, approachable, and responsive. I never have trouble booking routine visits (though I do it months in advance), and I've never had to wait long once I've checked in. She has a fantastic bedside manner and always puts me at ease as she works quickly and gently. When I've had emergencies, she has seen me immediately, and she always encourages me to call with any questions or concerns. I've found her nurses to be equally responsive, answering follow-up calls and ensuring scripts and refills are called in to the right pharmacy. Though I see her for regular preventative visits, I hope she can provide me with OB care in the distant future!
My only complaint is that I've had several problems with billing. I've received large bills on several occasions because they processed lab results with the wrong lab or filed paperwork with the wrong code. Both times I've gotten the runaround with Jefferson blaming the insurance and the insurance blaming Jefferson, but Jefferson seems to eventually resolve it.
