    Bassett Home Services LLC
Greg and his team did an outstanding job. From demo to final inspection, they team was on top of the installation communicating as they went. A few challenges with some finicky tile we decided to use but they worked through the issues and the end result is better than we anticipated. The team cleaned up at the end of each day and, because we work from home offices, was concerned about any noise or disruption. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would highly recommend Greg and his team. But be prepared for a wait.!!! Greg is in such high demand that it can take a bit to get on his schedule but you'll be happy you did!

    KB Contractors
I should have hired a lawyer from day one. We went to court where our claim was mediated by the judge. We took Mr. Bodenstein to the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations. Mr. Bodenstein was fined $4500 dollars and his license was revoked until he went through classes on the regulations and successfully passed them. Mr. Bodenstein at first resisted Va DPOR and then pled guilty to all of the charges. The Va Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations discovered that none of Mr. Bodenstein's subcontractors were licensed. Those subcontractors were: electricity, plumbing, propane, HVAC and concrete foundation. We paid $123,000 to Mr. Bodenstein, lost $40,000, largely in legal fees, in the court settlement and had to spend an additional large sum to repair and replace shoddy work and omitted work. Mr. Bodenstein used a workman who was released daily from the local Joint Security Complex and Mr. Bodenstein failed to live up to the contract he signed with the prison. Not knowing the worker was a prisoner who was locked up for theft, we gave him access to the property. Mr. Bodenstein told us this worker was a "master electrician" and he was not. Yet that workman divided the power coming to the house, installed a replacement electric box for the house and the cottage, installed all electrical wiring and a new electric panel for the cottage. He also installed propane piping which was incorrect and failed to pass the occupancy inspection and had to be replaced at considerable cost. He did major plumbing work. Mr. Bodenstein began work before obtaining a building permit and what was supposed to be a three month job extended from early June until he was fired a week before Christmas. Mr. Bodenstein has an excuse for everything and tells elaborate tales to explain away his problems. However, when the Virginia Board of Contractors at VaDPOR investigated him for a full year, all of his stories melted away in front of them. Mr. Bodenstein was often away for weeks at a time. His "supervision" was cursory. We had pipes freeze because areas were not insulated or insulated improperly. The new roofing Mr. Bodenstein had installed did not include the necessary replacement ridge vent system, The plumbing hook-ups for the dishwasher and kitchen sink leaked and flooded the floors. Even after all of this, we are very satisfied with our cottage. It took extra money and other professionals to make it right, but we are delighted. The work Mr. Bodenstein had done was not all bad. In fact, some of it was exceptional. But corners were cut and he got testier and testier. We live on the site and were always available for any sort of consultation. Our "contract" was split into individual contracts in what VaDPOR determined was a way for Mr. Bodenstein to get around his $119,999.99 license ceiling. We learned a lot during all of this. Eventually, Mr. Bodenstein sent us a "change order" which was invalid. Relationships deteriorated and he was fired. Hire that lawyer if you get involved with Mr. Bodenstein. And contact VaDPOR in order to understand how to deal with a licensed Virginia Contractor. VaDPOR is on your side against contractors who don't follow the regulations. It is not enough to be told that the contractor is insured and bonded. Ask to examine the documents.

    Troy-Bilt Construction
I've worked with Troy and Mark on two jobs. The first was a smaller job to install railings on my front porch. I could tell right away their workmanship was excellent, and I was impressed with how Troy worked through unexpected obstacles that came up during the process. I was thrilled with the railings - they tied into the existing porch perfectly and looked like they'd always been there! I then hired Troy for a much larger job, involving converting a small bedroom into a bathroom, and converting an existing small bath into a laundry room. Once again, Troy and Mark were great throughout the process. This job took the room all the way down to the studs, and my house is quite old, so a lot of carpentry needed to be done to get the new room to be level and square. They clearly know their craft and are complete professionals! They managed the demolition, framing, installed insulation, drywall, flooring, and doors, and they also coordinated with all the sub-contractors. The site was cleaned up and left safe after each day, which I appreciated especially as the job got messy. Again, Troy worked through the inevitable unexpected hurdles and always came up with good solutions. Troy was also flexible in working with me, as I wanted to do most of the finish work myself, and we kept in close communication throughout the 6 weeks of work. The job came in on-time and on-budget, and I absolutely love my new spaces! It's great to have confidence and security knowing that everything is so well-built. On a personal note, I also really appreciated that, as a woman living alone, I never felt uncomfortable with Troy and Mark (and their sub-contractors) in my home, and could always trust them to be respectful of me and my space. I definitely recommend Troy-Bilt for anyone's remodeling job!

    DIY Kitchens & Baths LLC
DIY Kitchens did a great job remodeling my kitchen and building a mudroom for a good price and in a timely fashion. Whenever something came up during the process my concerns were quickly addressed and I loved the finished product. Very happy with my new kitchen and mudroom. Installed new white shaker cabinets, (very good quality for its price) black granite with leather finish, farmhouse sink, subway tile, plumbing, hardware and etc. Pasha was always and time and very responsive. I recommend DIY kitchens and I would hire them again. Will add photos later

    DESIGN BUILD OFFICE LLC
We had very good experiences with DBO on two projects. First project: they replaced a small deck with a large screen porch & deck. Ted came up with a porch design we loved but never would have thought of on our own. Craftsmanship, price, and professionalism all very good. Second project: major kitchen renovation. This was a hard project in the best of circumstances (it's never easy to live in your house for a month without a kitchen), and there were some typical snafus like delayed delivery of cabinets, some of which had to be sent back and replaced. But DBO did as well as any contractor would have. But the quality of the work and finished project was impeccable, the crew was courteous, Ted walked us through all the options for countertops, tile, cabinets, etc.

I worked with a terrific designer, Krystol, and Bob the contractor was wonderful as well. The whole experience was as positive as can be. I couldn't have been happier. When the cabinet installer noticed that my floor was sloping slightly and Krystol was pout here the very next morning to tell me how they were going to fix this and they did. All contractors and sub-contractors were very respectful of my home and keeping things clean irt was a great experience overall

    Boss Design Center
We were very pleased with the outstanding work of Sean and Talha and the rest of the staff from Boss Design. We hired Sean to redesign the interior of our entire home. He and Talha put together a plan that we absolutely loved. The furniture they suggested looks great and is very functional. Our primary purpose was to increase seating in our home and to spruce up the look. They were able to accomplish this. In fact, we had them order outdoor furniture as well. We have been so pleased. They were wonderful to work with. The customer service was outstanding. They are very creative, but found opportunities to combine many of the things we already owned into the redesign. They asked about our interests and found ways to mesh our passions into their schemes. We would definitely recommend Boss Design for someone looking for interior design of their home.

    Harley (HIS construction)
Harley (HIS construction) has ruined our kitchen cabinets and it cost us $5000 afterwords to fix the damage. He was unprofessional, he lied to us about the timing, and most importantly he completely ruined our kitchen cabinets. He did not sand the cabinets even those he was suppose to, he painted some cabinets in wrong color, he water damaged the cabinets while they were drying and finally he chipped some cabinets so that they can't be repaired. It was my worst nightmare to see my beautiful kitchen to just completely damaged by his unprofessional work. After all he was promising us to fix it and he was lying that he would come over and fix it for over two week and at the end of the day, he never showed up. I will make sure to take the guy to court for all the damage he has done to us! If you see his phone number NEVER hire him to do any job!

I've used DIY now two times. Three years ago at my rental property and now at my house. Both times they did an excellent job. The staff was very kind and accommodating , especially this time. Their selection maybe more limited than larger places, but the pricing and quality is very good. They arrived on time each time, did a nice install and cleaned up before leaving. I recommended DIY to a coworker 6 months ago and she was also very happy with their work. We both love our kitchen cabinets and granite countertops! I will upload pictures soon...
