Vimal has now inspected 3 homes for us. He is top notch. Besides having the years of experience he has certifications and degrees in engineering and architecture. Vimal is always on time, professional, and patient. He explains everything he finds and whether or not it is something that should be fixed now or later and why. He has treated my husband and I like his children - truly caring about the homes "health" and ensuring we understood the good and bad that came with each property. Vimal looks EVERYWHERE in the home. I was so impressed at the recent property how much time he spent outside looking at the roof, grading, and structural components. He looked under decks and he even moved big plant pots inside the home to make sure nothing was being hidden on floors. He crawled into attics and crawl spaces and looked in every corner. He is very thorough. Further, we had an environmental specialist at the home the same time Vimal was in the house. Vimal was very courteous to him and respectful - sharing space and information. Vimal even offered to read this report when it was provided to provide a second opinion since he too does Air Quality evaluations. He helped me work through the next steps and options and never made me feel like a bother. I HIGHLY recommend him!

Adams Donald Did a thorough job. Was very patient, polite and freindly. Answered all questions, explained things in details and performed a detailed inspection to come up with a long list of issues that required attention and action. He also brought the moisture meters to detect any leakages. We are fully satisfied with his work and would gladly hire him again and recommend him to others interested. Raj

Fantastic! Best quality work! Installer was extremely knowledgeable about Radon and how best to install the system. Our system looks fantastic on the outside, installer used PVC pipe all the way to roof line for best airflow (instead of gutter downspout material).

As mentioned in many prior reviews, Mr. Duncan is indeed a subject matter expert in the home inspection field. He conducted himself professionally by arriving at the home site early, answered all the questions that we had, provided insights on the existing structure and mechanical systems in the home, and delivered a home inspection report in a timely manner (within 24 hours).
Our extreme appreciation goes out to Mr. Duncan as he had to complete our pre-drywall inspection on two separate occasions. The builder of our home had not progressed far enough on some mechanical systems during Mr. Duncan's first visit which precipitated a second visit. In both visits, Mr. Duncan spent approximately 90 minutes of his time visually and physically assessing our home (both the interior and exterior). As part of the inspection, he takes pictures and copious notes to support any issues that warrant attention. Any picture he took, he also took the time to explain why a picture was taken.
The inspection report that he provides is both detailed and comprehensive. Having forwarded the report to my builder, I found it extremely helpful as it allowed me to communicate directly with them to address each specific issue to an appropriate point of resolution. My Duncan was also very kind to opine on the feedback that I received back from the builder, as well.
I cannot speak more highly of him and would recommend his services to anyone looking for both an affordable and quality home pre-drywall inspection. I do plan on using him again in about two months (September 2013) to conduct the "Final Walk-Through Inspection" as well as a separate radon inspection.

The experience overall was a positive one.  The exterior part of the system is behind shrubbery.  A nondescript pipe carries the air above the level of the house; it does not stand out.  The interior part of the system is in a little closet in our basement.  Overall, it is a clean efficient system that relieves our minds about radon levels in our home.

Exceptional service and professionalism! He arrived on time and I could tell within seconds in talking to him that he was a true and experienced professional inspector. He explained everything as we went through! I learned so much and better still , he says I'm a client for life-if ever I have a question. Wonderful!

Wow.  People were not kidding when they said Jim was thorough (took over 4 hours).  My wife and I were very happy with his services and chose to use him again on another house, which I'll be writing a review for as well.  Jim saved us from a potential money pit in that the previous owners had expensive taste but had poor execution with whatever contractors they were using.  The place looked really nice at first glance but overall was very poorly maintained.  There was a lot of wood rot on the exterior and all the exterior caulking was failing.  They had extensive landscaping but was poorly planned out in that too many things were growing up against the house asking for termites to come in.  The worst part though had to do with a large stone patio they had in the backyard.  This thing was huge (2nd story built up patio) and looked spectacular but again poorly maintained.  All the iron work was rusting and a lot of the stones were coming loose.  The thing that ultimately made us bail on the purchase was that the stone was built up against the foundation of the house but in a way that would allow water to easily get behind the stone pieces, which was apparent in that most of those stones were cracking and separating from the wall.  We didn't want to have to deal with the repair of the stone patio and any potential foundation issues (although Jim thought there wouldn't be any but we didn't want to take the risk).  Jim was timely with his responses and his report (over 60 pages) was very complete with a ton of photos; it would've definitely been used as a significant bargaining chip if we had decided to move forward.  The radon test came in fine but by then we had nixed the deal.  Like I said before, we were so happy with Jim's (and Ed's, another inspector who came to help out) services that we used him for the house we're planning to close on at the end of the month.
