    Clifton Aquatics Pool and Spa
    Very well. They opened a pool that had not been operational for a couple years and were able to help clean it sufficiently that very little additional work was required to get it fully up and usable. (This is typical in my experience as it takes several cleanings and filter backwashes to get a pool clear especially after a lengthy time without use.)

    Supreme did a great job. They were reasonable priced and the owner was there for all of the important milestones. They are very responsive, making sure that when I ask for something by a specific time I can depend on them to have it done. I will continue to use them for my pool service!

    Perfect Pools
    Perfect Pools will NOT return numerous calls and emails! They cleaned our pool once last summer and gave suggestions on work that needed to be done. They wouldn't get back to me with an estimate and just kept saying they would call back
    I tried again this year and STILL NO RESPONSE.
    I see they have received some positive reviews, but I'm not sure how these reviewers actually got them to come out and service their pools.

    I can't say enough great things about 5th Gen Group. Christian, his partner, Jess and his crew headed by Hector are hands down, top notch. From initial contact to project completion, Christian was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, resourceful and creative. He sat with me to talk about the look I wanted, helped direct me in choices so that I was not overwhelmed and told me exactly when he was able to execute the project and did so; in, out, perfect! Not only was he able to understand the big picture, but he understood small nuances. I wanted heavy french doors; the feel of a big old brown stone. When I told this to Christian, it was no problem; who knew that you could weight them to make them as heavy as you desired! He also was thoughtful of others by hoping to donate the old windows to Habitat for Humanity - that was impressive and right up my alley. When we were discussing lighting desires prior to the project, I was unsure if I wanted 4 or 6. When the project started, I had not said anything to Christian but I was concerned that 4 was not going to be enough. When Christian showed up, he had 6; just in case; now THAT is experience. He re-purposed items in my house such as a door and a fan; that saved me money and made a big difference in the look of the house. As he was working on one project, I developed a leak in the roof. Lickity split, Christian fixed it. I was debating on gym flooring and had random mirrors. He helped me find the perfect floor at the right price and hung the mirrors so something originally hodge podge now looks fantastic. Hector and his crew, he is now known to me as "Super Boy". Doesn't that just say it all? He was timely, courteous, clean, thoughtful and knowledgeable. I was flabbergasted when I asked him if there was any paint left and he told me that he had put it back in the unfinished part of the basement where I store the paint; really? I am already developing a list for the phase of work with 5th Gen Group. They are a blessing to any home owner.

    Perfect Pools
    The Service for the last year has been terrible. I used them in the past about 18 months ago and the service was decent so I signed a contract for a discount for the to do the opening and closing over a two year perios. The last opening and closing have been a nightmare. Communication is terrible and it is hard to get a return call or a return e-mail. My house is rented and my renter was also having extreme difficulty getting a hold of them and scheduling the closing last fall then again openeing this spring. Further when they did come out the opening this spring went terribly. There were several issues with the opening.

    The closing last fall should have included a 1 hour cleaning which wasn't done and the pool was closed dirty. Then in the spring not only did they not clean the pool but there were several other issues with the opening. One issue if my renter didn't catch would have resulted sever damage to the pump system in the pool as the valves weren't set right and the spa almost drained completely which would have resulted in air getting in the pump system. On top of that they didn't remove all the plugs didn't install the pressure valve and they broke the cap to the sand Filter. After pointing this out we didn't get a response for over a week. We then finally got a hold of someone at the office and they at least did send someone out to remedy the issues. They did clean the pool finally saying they spent three hours cleaning the pool although it still wasn't vary clean but again they still didn't put on the pressure guage. Also when they put the repaired new lid on the sand Filter they didn't verify it sealed properly or use plumbers tape. Thus about 1.5 weeks after the opening the pump started having issues. We then had another company come out through our home warranty and after the 100 deductible they informed us the cap on the sand filter wasn't installed properly so the suction in the pump system wasn't working right. Their service is definitely far from perfect. There has been continous problems with the contact and quality of service from perfect pools. My current renter was moving out and since we don't know the new renters we are going to have a company service the pool. Does anyone know a better service company as it seems like Perfect Pools quality of service is going down the tubes.

    Mary was scheduled to come out to my house for a consultation.  We are putting in a new pool.  She never showed up.  I followed up with two phone calls and left message.  Never heard back from her or anyone else.  Pretty poor way to do business. If this is how they operate with a consultation I can't imagine what the whole construction process would have been like!

    We bought our home in January 2013 which had an old swimming pool. Neither of us had much knowledge of pools and since it was in the middle of winter many problems went undetected until the following spring. After opening the pool we found that our pool was in pretty bad shape and by the end of the summer we decided it would have to be completely overhauled. We had been referred to Jim Walsh by the guy who opened our pool that year and found him to be highly rated on Angie's List too. We put together a list of approximately 10 contractors from Angie's List to provide quotes for us. We found Jim to be the most professional, he provided the most detailed quote, and his was one of the most reasonable quotes we received. In the end we decided to go with JW Contracting for our pool renovation. Jim's crew was truly amazing to watch and ran like a well oiled machine. The first day I left at 8am and there were 2 guys were getting prepped to start working. I returned at 11:30am and there were close to 10 guys working and they had removed all of the coping, tile, plaster, and were in the processing of chipping away any lose material. By the end of the first day they had laid the majority of the coping and started prepping for tile. By the end of the second day all of the coping was done and the majority of the tile was as well. I was very impressed at the way the guys operated and the craftsmanship of their work. The pool turned out beautifully and my wife and I are extremely happy with the job that was performed. I would highly recommend JW Contracting if you have pool work that needs to be done.

    I have been using Fand K since I built my pool in 1993. Mike and his team of and quot;pool guysand quot; have been nothing but responsive, helpful, diligent, knowledgeable and competent. I trust them implicitly and can't imagine anyone giving better service. As long as I have this pool and as long as they are in business, they will be my pool service company.

    The experience was abysmal. 

    Frank Flanagan sat at my kitchen table and promised to fix all the things that were done wrong if I just paid the next increment. I provided a generous partial payment with his assurance he would return the next day to begin correcting the loose and falling stone facing as well as the cartoonish finish work on the stamped concrete patio and to begin the next section of the patio.  Instead, he pulled off of the jobsite, has not finished the work and has not repaired ANY of the defects. 

    He poured and stamped the first of four sections (about 600 square feet and about 10 cubic yards) of the more than 2400 square foot patio that must now be completely removed in order to redo that work and finish the job.  He used the wrong concrete and wrong color and the surface is covered with footprints and knee prints.  In addition to the patio debacle, all of the stone has completely separated from a 30 foot wall that he did - which he concealed with plastic covering.  Closer inspection of the mortar indicates too little cement and poor mixing as there are rivulets of unmixed sand in the mortar which comes off the stone easily.  Rather than installing the stone upon footer, Frank installed the stone on frozen dirt instead.  The fire pit is not centered on the sitting wall and a portion of it is shaped more like an igloo - it has to be deconstructed and rebuilt.  The adjacent sitting wall and the stone faced piers are unfinished and have loose stones and crumbling mortar throughout.

    The job started about 2/17/2014 and was supposed to take no more than 18 days, start to finish.  Even allowing for the inclement weather, the job was less than half done when he left the jobsite for the last time and the work that was done has to be redone..

    This man lied to me at my kitchen table with my general contractor present, took me for about $11,000 and ran.  I've attached only a few of the many pictures that demonstrate the pathetic craftsmanship of this amateur.

    Don't get taken.  Buyer Beware!
