    AJ's Mobile Repair Service
The lawn vacuum wouldn't start. He need to clean the carburetor for that. He did the work. I was happy with the price. Then when I mowed the lawn the self propel wasn't working properly and the engine power level wasn't strong enough to keep it running when mowing. I called him and he told me what to do on the phone and had it running properly in a few minutes. I plan to use him every year for this service.

They did a great job repairing my snowblower 3 years ago. Pick-up and delivery for a great price. But when I called in November to get service again they said they were closed for winter. Lossing out on a lot of business that way. I had to go to a much more expensive and not as helpful shop. So I have to give a lower rating.

    F & J SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
I have been taking my lawn mower and snow blower to F&J for several years and have reviewed them previously on Angie's List.  I thought it appropriate to submit an updated review since I have always been satisfied with their services and price.

All I can say is Wow - what great service!  We brought our mower in to fix the self-propel system and to get a tune-up.  They found out the transmission was bad, but they said given the age of the mower, it may still be under warranty.  They asked us for a copy of the receipt and then began calling the manufacturer.  They continued to give us feedback on the status and they called so much to the manufacturer that they were asked to stop calling.  Their persistence paid off and the transmission and labor were covered by the manufacturer.  I am very impressed with how they handled our situation and how they worked on our behalf with the manufacturer.  I highly recommend them for they quality of their work and their customer service.

    AJ's Mobile Repair Service
I called him once in late April to see if he could come to the house and evaluate our gas mower and gas riding mower and he said he could.  He was polite, professional and answered his own phone on the 3rd ring.  I said I'd call him back when I knew my husband's schedule.  I called him back about 10 days later.  Three times and each time I have gotten his answering machine.  I have called him on 5/5/15, 5/7/15 and 5/18/15 and left messages each time and he has never returned my calls.  I realize this is a busy time of year, but there is no excuse for this kind of treatment.  He has gotten such glowing reviews I had really hoped this was going to work out, but clearly it isn't.

    AJ's Mobile Repair Service
AJ arrived at my house when he was scheduled to arrive. He called me about 30 minutes beforehand to let me know he was on his way. He has all his equipment on his trailer and he was ready to go when he arrived. The service took about an hour and the snow blower ran perfectly when he was done. He gave me some good tips on how to maintain my snow blower and keep it running. This service call was much better than the one Sears provided during the winter.
I would use AJ for any small engine repair.

Service was great, owner was prompt, polite, efficient. I would definitely recommend First Look to get things fixed. My equipment came back to me operating well (neither of them would start before), and looking neat and clean. Highly recommended!!

This time repair successful. working well and in addition new parts not associated with motor, ordered and replaced at minimal extra cost making operation easier than ever before. F & J SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
I began using F and J for my lawn mower and snowblower after two bad experiences with a much larger outfit. F and J appears to be a two-man operation. The shop is very clean and well organized. The service techs are courteous and professional. With both theToro snow blower (serviced on 9/7/11) and the lawn mower, the service was completed in one week and I was called to let me know it was ready for pickup. I have not provided a separate report on the snow blower because due to the mild winter, I have yet to fill the gas tank and use it (which I must say has not been a disappointment!). As for the mower, I have fueled it and mowed once. It started on the first pull and the self-propelled feature is working properly. Both machines were returned to me clean.

    KOHLER EQUIPMENT
Regarding the lawn mower service last Fall, the work was performed in a timely fashion but my request that the self-propulsion mechanism be adjusted was not acted upon and deemed unnecessary. Within the first month of the mowing season, I had to remove the access panel and use WD-40 on the idler pulley mechanism so that it would relase properly.

My bigger issue is with the snow thrower that I dropped off in mid-April with a promised completion date of a couple weeks.  This morning, I picked up the unit which had yet to be worked on.  Obviously, I do not need it at the moment but that is not the point.  I took it in early so that it wouldn't sit in the garage all summer with the gas growing old and potentially clogging the system.  I would also prefer that it spend the summer months with fresh rather than dirty oil.  Finally, I want it here when I need it, not in the shop.  Given the recent earthquake and hurricane, who knows when we will be struck by a blizzard?

My primary complaint is that they made no commitment to call or email me when the work is complete.  The service order that I signed states (and I paraphrase) that equipment left longer than 90 days after repair is subject to sale by Kohler to cover expenses.  When I pointed that out, I was told that the clause didn't apply to me but I stressed that it's my sgnature on the bottom of the form which would seem to constitute an agreement between them and me.  So I have called (and they aren't easy to reach) on or about the first of every month since April.  Today, after attempting three calls to check on status and being placed on hold each time, I decide to pick up my unit, serviced or not (and it was not).  I took it to a much smaller operation in Manassas, VA and we'll see how that works out.  I let them know that I subscribe to Angie's List and that I would also be reporting on their service.
