    Inova Fair Oaks Hospital
    After giving the nurse a list of medications, and other pertinent information, i expected that it would have been read by the physician. But it was not because I was given medication and I went to get it filled, and the pharmacists phoned The Physician at the hospital and the prescription was voided claiming she didn't know the medications I was on. I apparently didn't disclose it to her when in fact I did and it was reflected on my discharge papers. She neglected to read the information. So my medication was voided I could not get it filled and she gives me Valium claiming that it'll help with pain. Valium is not designed for pain. And also she never stated on the hospital record that she voided out the original prescription and gave me the Valium, so when I went to the hospital again for the pain I was told but wait a minute she gave you such and such. I stated no she had that prescription was voided out I never got it filled. So now I am stuck with having to go through procedures in order to get this medication that I never received off of my record. It is not my job to go and make sure that my hospital records are corrected because of the physician who didn't do their job. That's what they get paid for it should have been taking care of that night, and I was still left in pain and can do nothing about it now. Merry Christmas to me right? But I'm sure they will want the bill paid. What is wrong with Dr these days? If your injured go someplace else do not go to Fair Oaks.

    It is close to home. Their automated recording didn’t inform me about refills, and they are not there when I go there or they have not been verified that I have to pay out of pocket and things like that. They are expensive. I will use them in the future because of the proximity.

    I can't say enough great things about Centreville Urgent Care and 'Dr. A'! He is extremely competent and an excellent diagnostician - and he listens and takes his time with you. He also is just a really nice guy who cares! The place is always clean and the staff is always courteous and helpful. I feel very blessed to have this doctor close by if I need his help and would highly recommend him to anyone!

    The last time we had to deal with them was for a shingles vaccine. They were very helpful. Our normal pharmacy didn't deal with the vaccine so I called United to figure out why. They did direct me to another pharmacy that covered the vaccine 100%. I was able to find a new doctor through their network that I was happy with and they seem to have good coverage with the doctors.

    Inova Fair Oaks Hospital
    The original procedure didn't go well and it took the surgeon a couple of days to figure out what had gone wrong. The Interventional Radiology Department then performed a procedure that kept me alive and then did several related follow-up procedures on an out-patient basis. The folks in Interventional Radiology were always very professional, friendly and efficient. They anticipated most questions and problems and cared for me very, very well.
    While an in-patient, I found the majority of the physicians to be very competent, willing to fully answer our questions and very thorough. One specialist was a complete horse's pa-toot: very brusque, unwilling to really listen to or answer questions posed by either patient or spouse and simply just of zero help.
    The nurses and their assistants were almost all very friendly and eager to help. Sometimes it did seem that they were being asked to tend to too many patients at once. A couple of nurses were sometimes in such a hurry that we had to call them back to fix what they had just done, which sometimes involved unstaunched bleeding.
    We commented as we were leaving after the second of these two hospitalizations, that no one had cleaned the room or bathroom at all during my three-day stay. As I was recovering from an infection, this seemed pretty relevant. An administrator spoke with us, but we really got the impression that it was all just "CYA lip-service".
    While writing this review I'd like to comment as well on the Emergency Department, as we've used it many times. The nurses, orderlies and doctors have been just great: very eager to help and to relieve my discomfort and just as efficient as they could be, despite some sometimes very heavy influxes of patients.

    The plan works great for us. We love that they send us statements after each doctor visit and it is somehow linked with FSA. The only thing I struggle with is that their systems are not set up to do a thorough search for doctors. Whatever search you can do online is almost basically the search they perform for you over the phone. I was looking for a vision therapist and they couldn't tell me which optometrists were vision therapists without literally printing the 50 names of doctors in my area and calling each one individually. We ended up just going with a doctor that was recommended and out of network. As a side note we were told that Aetna is one of the few insurance providers that cover vision therapy (or part of). Overall we are pretty happy with Aetna!!

    My husband and I both are covered under Compass Rose secondary to Medicare. We have both used this insurance over the past five years rather extensively. Our coverage is from my husband's federal service -- he is now retired. Because he is quite ill, we have a great deal of experience with Compass Rose and I must say that most of it has been very good. They appear to be efficient and we receive a great deal of communication from them regarding coverage and payment. We are very grateful for their professionalism. This is a difficult time and problems with an insurance company during an extensive and serious illness would be awful. The only issue I have with them is a recent restraint they put on my monthly medication refills -- they have reduced the time I can order a refill from one week to two days -- via Express Scripts. That is hardly convenient and if I am going to be out of town, I don't know what I am supposed to do. This happened without any notification to me. Other than that, I have been rather impressed with the company.

    Tricare
    • I have Tricare standard so we can go to what ever Dr we want. We don't have a co pay, so there was nothing to pay for at the end of the visit. The Ped office sends in the paper work to Tricare and then I receive a bill from the Ped office for my portion of the visit. There is an annual deductible that needs to be met. Tricare has been good about answering questions so far, no problems.

    We've been with them for a few years now and have never had an issue with them not paying. Also have never had any issues with billing anomalies like I've experienced with other companies.
