    Donnie called to say when he would arrive and matched the estimate. Job estimate was 6 to 8 hours and completed in about 5. Lots of holes to drill for running wires. Installed 2 four receptical boxes and one 2 receptical for a water softener circuit. Culligen installed the box immediately under the water inlet! Donnie also identified that Culligen broke my ground connection by installing plastic pipes. He planned to fix it but I need a plumber to fix a shutoff valve, so I had to defer that fix.

    A small fire was ignited by the exterior unit. A rare capacitor explosion resulted in molten aluminum dripping onto dry leaves. Dario came as soon as possible since the AC was down in August. We talked about the options and chose to replace the entire system with a high efficiency heat pump. He provided personalized service as always. He selected a good team to do the installation. Dario fully explained the admin stuff (warranties etc) and the maintenance stuff. His team provided a good overview of system operation after installation. IAQ is great whether you are shopping for a new system or looking for a service contract or just a one time repair. Nice job!

    We had a 8:00am to 10:00am service call well it started to
    snow around 8:00am so we called at 8:30 to make sure they were coming, first we
    talked to some girl who was just RUDE and stated that they will decide in about
    half hour so at 9:00am they would decide if they will show up for a 8am to 10am
    appointment we canceled the call, just before 9:00am we get a call from some
    guy who stated he was the owner and it was not safe to go out, he lives 11
    mins. from our house and there was just a trace of snow, when we stated this he
    cursed at my wife and made stupid threats if we write bad reviews. Well we
    would not have cared if they had called us at 8:00am and not us call them.
    Worst customer service ever.

    We recently sold our home and had a list of items that needed to be completed prior to closing.  We were able to provide that list the Craftmasters and they went item by item and completed them all.  We had to have our AC raised off the ground, some electrical outlets replaced, an attic fan replace, etc.  Everything was done in a timely fashion, they kept all areas clean and worked within our budget.  We would definitely recommend them in the future.

    Walls Electrical Service Inc
    I just bought a portable generator and wanted an interlock kit installed with an exterior outlet so that in the event of a power outage, I could just plug in my generator outside and legally power most of the house. I bought an interlock kit online and hired Walls to do the installation with a coupon I purchased on Angie's List. The technician arrived within the scheduled timeframe. He wore shoe covers to avoid tracking dirt into the house. He was very polite and professional, explaining exactly what he was doing. After the installation was complete, we did a simulated power outage where he gave me step by step instructions of what to do to restore power. Everything worked great. The original estimate was $360 for labor and materials (a 30amp double breaker, a 240v exterior outlet, and the wires and wire housing). I thought that was fair, but with the coupon ($99 for $200 of service), the total amounted to $258. I thought that was a great deal for a professional installation. I was happy with the job and would certainly use Walls again in the future.

    The contractor and his son came to the house and dug a trench and laid wiring to go to the new swimspa and laid a wire for a future duplex plug, which was left in the ground to be connected once the greenhouse was built over the spa, with the promise that  they would come back to hook up the plug (for lights) after the greenhouse was completed. They knew we would be building the kit greenhouse ourselves and that it would take several months before we would be ready.
    When I called to have them connect the wire I encountered a very rude son on the phone who said I owed them $139 and they would not do any more work for me until they were paid. I wrote a check for $150 and included it with an apology note and gave it to my husband to deliver. I discovered several months later the envelope was not delivered because there was no place to put it at their building. I dug out an address and included that envelope inside another one and mailed it to them. No word. The check was cashed. I assumed they would be completing the job because they knew I was ready.
    I contacted them again today. The story had changed. Now the owner said he never promised to connect the wire but that he would do it, and then he proceeded with a profanity. I disconnected at once. A few minutes later I called back and told the son I am a member of Angie's list and that I will be leaving honest feedback. So what you have here is totally honest.
    The only thing I haven't said is that the reason I did not contact them earlier was I was in the hospital for almost a month because I almost died. That fact does not excuse the late payment, but most people have been nice to me once they found out how close I got to never paying at all. If they had been nice to me today they would have gotten another, much-larger job from me that I am accepting bids for now.

    J&D Handyman Services LLC
    In fairness to J&D, I have to say that the work we engaged them for is probably not the kind of work they're most commonly set up to do.  We needed a semi-emergency house rewire in 2011, we were new in the area, and had (we thought) VERY little time to get the job done.  On our end, it's easy to see now, we should have gotten estimates from several companies and signed a contract which covered the whole job at a fixed price (you know, like they always tell you to do!).  But we literally thought we had about a week before we'd have to move into a house with such old/bad wiring that it could have caught on fire at any moment. (The previous owners thought it was perfectly acceptable to unscrew a lightbulb, shove a live fixture into the wall, and plaster over it.  <Shudder>)  Things worked out differently for us, and we ended up with more time than we expected, but when we called J&D, we were over a barrel, and there they were -- easy to find, they could come and start right away, and they 'quoted' a good price and time frame.  Our next mistake was that we signed a time & materials contract.  And for such a large project as this, that was a foolish call on our part.
    After having been to our house and having talked to us about several issues in this old farmhouse, including electricity, we asked the owner for an admittedly rough estimate on how much it would cost to rewire the house.  His (admittedly rough) estimate was $10-$15K and up to two weeks.  A couple of months and $40K later, we finally got them out of the house, with holes in every wall and ceiling in the place, our credit cards completely maxed out, and our bank account empty.  Other contractors who have come to our house have been pretty stunned at the amount of damage.
    This is an old house, and old houses come with quirks -- oh, boy, do I know that! -- but we expected that with 25 years in the business, we could have gotten a time/money figure closer to actual costs.  And again, had we realized we had more time before having to move in, we would have gotten several estimates and probably gone with a different type of company.
    In the end, I will tell you straight up that we have EXCELLENT electricity now -- J&D did a most professional job of wiring the house, tying it into the new panel, and making sure it was safe and efficient.  I will never fault them on the quality of their work.  However, whatever the truth of the matter is, we ended our business relationship with J&D feeling like we had been lied to, cheated, and robbed.  I am perfectly aware that my perceptions are probably skewed, but I have to say it's not a nice feeling to end a relationship like that.
    In the end, I would still highly recommend J&D for small jobs -- if your dishwasher goes out or you need a new light fixture installed; handyman jobs.  That's their specialty.  We had no business hiring them for such a large job and doing so with only a "Time & Materials" contract rather than a Project Contract -- live & learn.

    I called Evergreen Electric and setup an appointment for the next day to perform what I figured would be a couple small jobs and to receive an estimate to run cable into new rooms. The original appointment was delayed because of a power outage on another job, but speaking to Josh on the phone, he was willing to come by as soon as he was finished even though it would have been well into the evening. I told him the following day would work fine and we rescheduled the appointment.
    Josh arrived the next day and examined our situation. Our house is nearly 40 years old and it turns out the problems were much deeper than I thought. Josh crawled into the attic and rewired the junction boxes that were not just loose but had previously been wired incorrectly. He also spent well over an hour attempting to diagnose why our breaker was tripping without much of a load on it. He was very thorough in his troubleshooting. He replaced the breaker with a higher amp version and the problem is fixed, but he also indicated there is likely more faulty wiring running through the attic buried under the insulation and someone should come back to assess the entire electrical system.
    Josh was very courteous and professional and answered all of my questions. After spending about 2.5 hours with us, I was expecting a large bill. I was very pleased when he told me he would only be billing me for one hour.
    About 30 minutes after he left, we noticed that a light in the hallway would not turn off. I called to report it and Evergreen responded immediately. Josh came back right away and fixed the problem. He even replaced the light switch free of charge. It is nice to see a company that stands by its work and acts so quickly when something is wrong.
    I would highly recommend Evergreen Electric. They are prompt, thorough, and stand by their work.

    My experience at Countryside Electric Inc was wonderful and excellent. The crew was excellent and they were nice people. They did what they were hired to do and it worked. The owner put a double switch for the light stand so that the light and the fan could be switched on.
