    Ortega General Contractors
We found them through an Angie's List Daily Deal for 2 hours of electrical for $99. They were exactly on time and absolutely polite and sent 2 guys to work for 1 hour, perfect. One guy was in the house doing the outlets, the other was outside installing the timer for the exterior lights. The outlets were replaced with no problem, but the lights with the timer were not done correctly. They did come back when called and tried for several hours at no extra charge to get the timer installed, when that didn't ever work we asked for them to just make the lights go back to the way they were with 2 switches working the exterior lights, but even that could not be put back to it's prior function. Now we have bulbs that go out constantly on the fixtures. We will have to hire another company, one that does only electric, to fix the problem. I am not asking for my money back because they did do the outlets and they did come back and work for quite some time to try and fix the exterior lights.

    Enlighten Electric LLC
Diagnosed a tripped GFCI breaker that caused all of the outside outlets and, more importantly, the A/C condenser pump to stop working.  It took him 10 minutes. It would have taken us hours to figure out that an upstairs GFCI outlet was causing the first floor A/C unit to not work.  He left at 4:45 on a Saturday and mentioned that he was going to take his lunch then. He'd clearly been working very hard all day in very hot, humid weather and hadn't had a chance to eat yet.  He was supposed to be done for the day, but when he called to schedule my appointment, I mentioned that it was for an air conditioner problem and he decided that it was important enough to do that day.  We really appreciated it!

    SNR Design and Build LLC

These comments are relative to work done on my home in Catharpin, VA by SNR Design & Build during the winter  of 2014-2015 (Basement finishing) and the Spring/Summer of 2015 (Patio remodel).

Based on a referral from a friend, I hired Mr. Stan Riffle and his crew to do a complete finishing of the basement in my home.  As I am retired, I observed their work every day of the project, and I can give SNR an unqualified superior recommendation.  My wife and I are totally satisfied with all aspects of the work.  We have hosted several large parties in our "New" basement and have received many laudatory comments from our friends on how impressed they are with the quality of SNR's work.

Even more impressive is the fact that several of my friends who are very ?construction savvy? observed the basement project during construction, before wallboard covered up the ?real work? and they were very impressed with the quality and attention to detail.

The patio project in the Spring has totally transformed our outdoor space.  The SNR implementation of my plan was perfect.  The stone and tile work magnificent, and the Pergola more than amazing.

Mr Riffle demonstrated superb ability to schedule work, order materials, provide technical expertise and guidance to his crew.

The attention to detail and skills of his crew impressed me so much that I felt like they were working on their own homes instead of mine.  They were especially skilled at wiring the entire basement to switch over to my 'whole house' generator when needed.

There was never a day when work lagged because of a problem.  The crew was totally reliable and even though they drove each day rather long distances, they arrived on time every day, performed the planned work, and cleaned up at the end of the day.

We unhesitatingly recommend SNR for any major project you may have to improve your home.

    Beacon Electrical Services
I had a great experience with Beacon and am already planniing on using them again.  Angie's List had a deal with Beacon that you could get 4 recessed lights for $399 and we signed up.  I received a phone call from the scheduler at Beacon within a few days and she was pleasant and helpful, she even called me last minute to see if I wanted them to do the work earlier than planned and got me an electrician on Saturday.
The electrician showed up on time and was professional, polite and friendly.  He explained everything he was going to do and how he would do it.
I was amazed at how clean the project was.  The electrician put plastic on the floor, measured the area and marked the places where the lights would go using lasers instead of chalk lines and vacuumed what little debris was left.
Part of the deal was for Beacon's electrician to check all outlets and the electrical panel in the home, so that was a nice safety bonus.
I asked the electrician if he could properly install a light fixture over my bathroom vanity, one we had put in but it was obviously not secure.  I did pay him for his extra work but he was willing to do it wihtout complaint and did the work neatly and quickly.

    J&D Handyman Services LLC
I originally contacted J & D Handyman services to repair some woodwork on the outside of the house.  I spoke with the owner and discussed the project.  He sent me a contract outlining the scope of the work to be done and hourly rate.  We set up a time and date for them to do the work.  They showed up on time completed the work within the estimated time frame.  I then asked them to install a sliding door, and entry door which they did promptly. After the positive experience with these tasks, my wife and I asked them to install a vanity we purchased for a bathroom.  While they were working on the vanity we asked if they could install an electrical box for a light fixture and exhaust fan.  They told they could and did that work as well. I was home during the whole process and they worked steadily.  No padding of hours.  I felt like we got good value for our money.
