Austin-Weston, The Center for Cosmetic Surgery
Their services were excellent. They were friendly, very good. I get the same doctor the same time and the same doctor when I go back. There are others in the practice. The last time I went there were three of them. I have been there several times. I had a child when I was 46 years old. I was shopping one day and someone said, what a lucky grandmother you are. I thought, that's it, I'm calling tomorrow and making an appointment, and so I did. And then, that same son got married and I thought, I need a little touch up and I need my eyes done again so I went back there for that. Everything is done very easily and very comfortably. And very expensively of course. The office environment is nice, it is beautiful.  You have to have a lot of trust in the people doing the procedure and I think that they convey that.

I think UVA is wonderful and I'm just delighted. I think they just have wonderful care and wonderful service and what I like is everything is always in the same building. So, when I go and see my primary care physician and I check out and she'll say, just turn left when you go outside the door and the first door on the right is the lab and get your blood drawn and then you can go downstairs and get your X-Ray taken and they have radiology center very close by. In fact they have three of them. And many offices in the area. So, it's very, very convenient. Every center is set up, almost like the Kaiser Center. If you go into Kaiser or you go into UVA you get your care, you get your prescriptions, there's an onsite pharmacy, they'll fill it for you. You're not going to the drug store and going all these places. You are trailing off to this place or you're trailing off to someone else to get your lab work done. I have absolutely no complaints.
Once you go and see a physician, you get a follow up letter. I mean an actual letter dictated and signed by them. It's amazing.

She has partners and I think they are all women. She's a brilliant woman and she's very young. I just can't believe that she's boarded on all these specialties. She must be brilliant.
When I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer I wasn't able to get into surgery the next day of course, I had to wait a week and a half. I was horrified by that. I could just imagine it spreading all over my body meanwhile. But, obviously, it was okay to wait. I wasn't in any great pain. You have to put things in context. What happens is the availability, if you have a practice and you get a lot of patients because you are so good and you get lots of consults from other doctors who want you to take care of their patients, your availability is not that great but it's not your fault.
Her office environment is hectic. These are very anxious people. They want their results, they want their lab results, they want this, they resent having to wait and of course you have to wait because you may have planned a two hour surgery that turns into a four hour surgery. She does have partners but they want to see her so what can I tell you? I don't know a surgeon that's punctual. Unless you schedule yourself on a day when they are not operating. They all have non-operative days. So, what you do is you talk to the secretary and you say, is this a surgical day for Dr. So and so. If they say yes then say, when's the next available non-surgical day? And then you won't have to wait. You just have to know your way around the system.
The office staff is stressed. It is a very, very, very busy office.

The wait time was pretty long. The first time I had to wait for around an hour for the appointment, but when I went back for the follow up, that was a lot quicker. When I finally got into the office I liked the doctor, but I didn't like that they seemed to push me to have an operation. They did an ultrasound and I know ultrasound people can make mistakes, which I understand. I would have like the doctor to say let's wait for a little bit before performing a rather risky surgery, but she didn't. I got a second opinion about a month later and that doctor determined that everything was fine and there was no need to operate.

It did take some time to get into an exam room with nearly an hour wait, but I was metwith friendly staff and once in the room, Dr. Roberts also made me feel comfortable and she seemed very knwoledgable. After my visit with Dr. Robets I left with an appointment for an ultrasound for further details of what is going on with me and a follow up appointment the same day with Dr. Roberts. I left there feeling comfortable that I was going to be ok; I went in apprehensive.

After getting to the office I was greeted by a very friendly staff and then Dr. Roberts examined me. I was then given a return date for an ultrasound for further evaluation. After returning for the ultrasound I saw Dr. Roberts again to go over results of the ultrasound and was pleased to hear a better diagnosis than previously given by a different practice. Dr. Roberts was very thurough and explained everything completely and I will return in several months for follow up. I will stay with Dr. Roberts as my Doctor for future visits as well, I am pleased with her and the facility. The wait time getting into exam room and ultrasound were long, that is the only thing I found disappointing. Waiting that long for the ultrasound was difficult because I had a full bladder and waited almost an hour.
