    Salzano Custom Concrete
We are really happy with our new patio! Great company, easy to work with, quality at a reasonable price. CJ did a great job at setting reasonable expectations and monitoring progress. And our project came in UNDER budget, which I was thrilled about! The one thing I have to really ding them in is that my patio was finished 5 months after the estimated date... I understand that we had an unusually wet patch of weather that causes delays, but 5 months seems overly excessive and I feel like they were overly ambitious and set an unreasonable timeline upfront. But, they do great work; and we are very happy with the end product. Just know that the time estimate youre given could be months off - they do great work, and there is a reason they are in demand.

    Salzano Custom Concrete

We shopped around and were given estimates by a few different companies and we most impressed by CJ Salzano?s willingness to take the time to explain the options and various processes in detail so that we could make the most informed decision about our patio.  No one else gave us pro/cons of each option, some rather steered us into their direction.  Choosing Salzano?s was absolutely the right decision, we would happily recommend Salzano?s Custom Concrete to others. We found the quality of service as well as the quality of the completed patio to be excellent and exceeded expectations in every respect.  All the personnel involved were extremely hard working and responsive to any and all questions.  We requested a very short timeframe to have the job completed and despite many consecutive days of bad weather, the job was completed early due to the very long hours worked even on weekends and late evenings.  We are very satisfied with the outcome of our stamped concrete patio/walkway and give this company the highest recommendation without hesitation!

I will certainly call you for any future jobs. Thank you for everything and the great service by everyone.

Our driveway is on a hill and is quite wide as we have a 3 car garage.

National was highly recommended by a trusted source--a good choice as they did a masterful job.

Mr Hancock spent a good half hour measuring and preparing the detailed estimate.  The proposal he developed reused as much of the existing driveway as possible so as not to incur extra expense.  A good value for the money!

The crew arrived on time and worked quickly doing the work as proposed.  They were prepared and had all the right tools and equipment, to include supplies to protect the concrete garage floor and sidewalk apron.  They preserved my flower beds on one side (I had been concerned).  The work was neat with good clean edges and they actually improved the drainage by improving the slope of the asphalt.

The crew was professional and pleasant and answered questions in a way that et me know they took pride in their work.  They spent a good hour cleaning up and left the driveway and street in excellent condition.

Work started at 800AM and the I hadn't expected the loud jackhammer noise in the demolition phase.  I can't blame them for that but its a planning consideration if you do a job with them.

    Greystone Masonry Inc

We had a really unpleasant experience with another local concrete company (TDJ Concrete OF Stafford VA, see review on Angie's List), who abandoned our job and took half of our money, leaving us with warped concrete forms and gravel. Our backyard was a muddy, gravel mess and was completely unusable for 5 months. As soon as we realized TDJ was not coming back, we contracted with Greystone Masonry of Stafford VA, and got on their schedule. Due to the busy time of year (Summer 2014) we had to wait 3 months for Greystone to be able to complete the project.

Greystone came in and completed the job with beautiful results. They were easy to work with, and we really loved their beautiful showroom. Greystone did not try to price gouge us, even though they knew we were in a tough spot. They were reasonably priced. Most importantly, the end result was an absolutely perfect patio. Greystone has experienced, skilled concrete masons.

Working with concrete is a time sensitive process. We would not recommend going with a small, amateur company for this reason. If you are looking for a company to install a high quality, beautiful stamped concrete patio, we highly recommend Greystone Masonry!!

    Toro Concrete Inc
Toro Concrete was easy to work with!!  They were able to translate my 'vision' into a high quality product for our home.  The process took longer than I expected, but that was due to lots of rain...obviously out of anyone's control.  On the day that the project started, there were ~10 workmen on site---prepping area, laying forms, burying downspouts, etc.  Toro Concrete went out of their way to create multiple samples for us to chose from, and brought them to our house.  Toro is very reasonably priced for the quality of work they performed; highly recommended if you are in the market for customized stamped concrete that looks like real stone!

    TDJ Concrete

We hired Dave and Melanie Joyce of TDJ Concrete to install a large (~1300 sq ft) stamped concrete patio. We paid 50% + of the project cost in advance. They had the patio formed and had gravel laid, but then began to balk at complying with the terms of our agreement (using rebar, using color hardener, demanding payment in full before completion of project) and when we did not agree to pay the remaining balance in full, in advance, they abandoned the job, told us we were released from the contract and said to find someone else to finish it. They promised to return a majority of our paid moneys ($8600+), but never did so and never contacted us again or returned to the job.

We were left with a dangerous back yard that was unusable for over 5 months, and forced us to find another contractor at the height of the patio pouring season. The subsequent contractor only gave us a $1.00 per sq. ft. credit for the work TDJ had left behind. We had to wait almost 4 months (until September) to be able to get our project completed.

NOTE: Dave Joyce only held a Class C license, and actually was working beyond the dollar limit on his license ($10,000).

Based on our experience with TDJ Concrete, we would not recommend them.

Provider made an appointment with me on a Saturday morning between 10 and 11 am. I waited the entire morning for them, when finally after 12:30pm, they called to say they couldn't find my house and would I mind if they came out later. I wasn't about to have them ruin my entire Saturday, so I told them no.

    The Crack Man
During the last big storm, we noticed a crack that was leaking in the basement.  After reviewing Angie's list, we decided to call Alek and we are glad we did.  He asked that we send him pictures of the crack and when he received them, he gave us his estimate.
We agreed on a date and time for the repair.
He arrived for the appointment on time and my husband stayed and talked with him while he did the repair.  The repair took about 2 hours for preparatory work and the actual repair.  My husband was really impressed by his professional manner, knowledge, and expertise.  He completed the work and the cost was exactly as estimated.
If we (or anyone we know) has this type of problem, he's the first one we'll call!
Great job from a great guy!

    JP Companies Inc
Paulo arrived to perform the estimate when he said he would. Explained what needed to be done, measured and provided a price quote. Paulo provided a design and suggested pavers.  His choices were excellent.  JP uses it's own crew, and Paulo's father Nick supervised the work.  They stayed with the project until it was completed in 4 consecutive days.  We requested a change in design of the steps during construction and they accommodated without question.  They also wend above and beyond. although not mentioned in the  contract, JP installed drainage from two downspouts under the patio rather than have them empty onto the patio.  They also straightened a fence post and reversed the direction of the entry gate due to the patio design. His crew cleaned up after each day's work. I intend to have them back to do more stone work on our front porch steps.

Langhorne Concrete & Home Improvements Inc
We have a large front porch and had been trying to find someone to wash and seal it. Was something I could probably tackle myself but reading some of the stories online of people who had done so made me think it was best left to someone who knows what they're doing.
Tried a few places and many were commercial only, and others priced themselves out of the job.  Kept looking at Angie's List and found Vance.  Sent an email and got a prompt reply back. He stopped by that weekend and left a card with a cost that was more in line with what I was willing to spend.
We went back and forth on when to come out (I'm a bit nosy that I like to see what's being done!) and found a day that worked.  Also happened to be a time that was going to have some nice weather for several days after so no moisture coming back down on the porch.  They came out when they said they would and the porch looks great!
Hopefully the seal lasts several years - we don't get a lot of foot traffic in that area and it's covered so I'm sure it will.
    Thanks Vance!
