    Hall Landscaping and Handy Man
He came, looked & talked about project for about an hour. Said he'd get me estimate & send to my phone so I could print out & look over. I never heard from him again. I called him & texted him several times & no response.

Mr. Bunche did a great job of ending the sidewalk, fixing the ends, patching mortar, and building a bridge. There was more concrete to be removed than it appeared at first, so there was an additional charge above the estimate. He is in demand, so sometimes it takes a bit for him to get you on the schedule.

First, Eric, the actual contractor did an excellent job. He was punctual, professional, respectful and communicated during his work. It was done right. As long as he is on the job, we would use the firm again. Now, Brad the estimator. He would make an excellent car salesman, he fits the bill. He gave me the estimate, when I went on the following Monday to pay the deposit, he had "forgot" grab rails, of course an added cost. He told me that he could start earlier than what he originally said. That day came with no one there. I called and was informed that the start was on my contract and denied any earlier start. The shower was the wrong size and there was almost an additional cost, but now I was going to have to pay extra for drywall because of the shower size. Then, the new commode had a two flush system, not explained to my mother and I had to pay the plumber fee to unclog it. All in all, extra charges added to 430.00, which places a wrench in my budget for my mother and the job. Brad could be condescending when you disagreed with him. The job took longer than I was told. The cleaning ladies came in to clean, did a good job, but one found some pills my mom had dropped at some point, handed them to her and my mom thought they were her evening pills and she took them and both she and I had no idea what she took.

    Curts Handyman Service
The gentleman I spoke with was both professional and considerate. He said that distance was not a problem but that he was in the middle of a project and wouldn't be able to come until it was finished.  He said he realized I would probably want it done ASAP, but that if I could not find anyone else to call him back.   I was able to get someone else, but I was pleased with his courtesy and would certainly consider calling him in the future.

    One Call Bristol
I scheduled a home visit to get an estimate for roofing.  This contractor scheduled service, but never showed up.  This was extremely inconvenient since I took a day off of work to meet the contractor.

He was on time. He worked for 4 hours and didn't take a break, but did have to wait once for adhesive to dry. Price was nice. Job looked nice. Through out the job, he was very tidy and clean and when he left I couldn't tell he was here except for my repaired floor! He even wiped his footprints from the rain up as he headed to the door.

    Charlie Helbert
Mr. Helbert had done work for me previously as an employee of Mack Harmon Construction. Since Mr. Harmon passed away, Charlie has been freelancing. His work had been excellent, so when it came time to have work done on the kitchen, I knew who to call. He and his nephew arrived, took notes on all that I wanted done, and then called back with an estimate. They started to work the next day. Since I hadn't expected it quite that soon, there was a lot of moving to be done which Charlie and Ron did quickly and efficiently. There were some surprises in the kitchen: under the wall paper, part of the wall was covered in paneling, part was covered in unfinished wood and part was drywall. Charlie filled in the grooves and covered then sanded to give the walls a smooth surface. They used primer tinted with the desired color, followed by two coats of paint. Cabinet doors were removed, sanded and holes filled in to give me more choice in my selection of handles and knobs, primed, and given two coats of paint. They took down the ceiling lights and painted rather than just painting around the lights as others had done. Knowing that I intended to replace the countertops later, they removed the current backsplash and painted down to the countertop so there would be no repainting if the new backsplash proved shorter than the old. Trim around doorways was in terrible shape due to cats but it was sanded and painted beautifully. The whole job took a week, on and off as paint had to dry. They even came to work on a Sunday! In addition, Charlie took it upon himself to fix sagging drawers and to add braces to cabinet shelves as well as re-caulking the windows. They did a wonderful clean-up job as well. My kitchen looks fabulous!

Donna was 30 mins late. I am very picky but she took suggestions well. Had to go back over a few things. The job took 1 hr longer than expected.
