  They did not completely load the containers and had to be prodded to move many of the heavier items out of the house or even downstairs. Their packing method was highly inefficient and we had to substantially repack the containers a few days later when additional family members arrived to help with the move.

  Have a minimum hourly rate that exceeded my needs and even though I was willing to pay it, scheduling was difficult. Both times I used them, movers arrived and told me they could do it cheaper if I called them privately and left their numbers.

  Everything went very well. They were extremely professional and conciencious. They arrived on time and worked hard. Both the packing and moving were carefully completed. They moved the furniture as carefully as I would have. The crew was courteous, personable, and great to work. If I move again, I only need to make one phone call!

  Quality Services Moving

  I've used Quality Services Moving in the past and they have done a great job.  This time they sent the 'B' team of rookies.  The guys were really nice, but they were really new at this.  For example, at the pickup location in Blacksburg, VA I came across one of the crew trying to block open the storm door.  I showed him the bracket on the hydraulic auto-close at top of door (which most storm doors have) and he was amazed that that feature was available.
  Also, they arrived without ramp for truck.
  There were other problems, but my biggest complaint was in the way they just seemed to throw everything into the storage room. They carefully wrapped everything in blankets at the pickup site. But when they got to the storage room, the blankets came off and the furniture was just stuffed into the room.  For example, a find oak bed frame was placed on its side on the concrete floor. This could scratch that visible surface.

  Olympia Moving & Storage

  I have used professional movers four times. Olympia Movers was by far the best moving company I have worked with. They were absolutely outstanding. First of all, they were very punctual on the packing and loading days as well as the delivery day. They communicated very closely with me regarding expected time of arrival, what the process would be, and what to expect. They did what they said they were going to do. Secondly, they packed and moved my things with a great deal of care, and demonstrated a high level of knowledge and expertise in how to pack things so that they would arrive undamaged. For example, I have a large glass cabinet. They were the first movers that ever put pillows inside as a way to add stability. I thought this was an excellent idea. Additionally, they wrapped furniture in padded blankets and moved it this way to protect the furniture and walls. Because of the great care the crew exercised, my belongings arrived absolutely in perfect condition, and there were no gouges or scratches on the walls or floor or anything else. Next, they were very efficient. They worked diligently until the job was complete. They communicated clearly with each other, working as a well functioning team. Next, they checked in with me throughout the packing, loading, and unloading process to ask if everything was meeting my expectations. During the unloading, I had to ask them to move a few pieces of furniture after they had been placed because I decided they were going to work well where they were placed. They were happy to move the items for me. The final cost was on target with what they had estimated. The crew was courteous, friendly, respectful and professional. I cannot say enough about this company. I absolutely recommend them. Eddie was my crew chief and he was outstanding.

  My Guys Moving

  This company scammed us on the insurance coverage and refuses to compensate for their poor service and damages. They told us we were fully insured and back petalled after we filed a claim.   VERY poor quality packing, if packed at all.  They "packed" the truck so badly they couldn't move everything they were supposed to (leaving us high and dry to figure out what to do with the rest) and they didn't pack anything inside of the furniture, just moving furniture with items like jewelry and wedding china loose to get lost or damaged!!  This is UNHEARD of, both we AND their management were shocked.  We had our belongings in storage for two months before we asked them to deliver them, and somewhere along the line they lost items.  The delivery crew reluctantly admitted to me that even they "would have done it differently."  Management gave us an arbitrary 7 days to unpack everything and get a claim back to them - simply trying to make it difficult.  I was 7 months pregnant and working full-time, expected to fully unpack a 2,000 sq/ft home's worth of items? ha!   Although management admitted this was a poor job, they won't provide honest compensation for such poor service and damages.
  Do not go with this company! Save yourself the hassle and money and just pack your items yourself with free store boxes and newspapers... then hire men to move them into a rental.  Much much safer, greener, and insanely cheaper that way.

  Virginia Varsity Transfer and Self Storage

  Virginia Varsity was the only smooth and professional piece of the move! I hired them to move items from two college apartments to two newly leased college apartments. It was to be done in the same day. After loading items from both apartments and arriving at the first new apartment to unload, I noticed that this apartment wreaked of cigarette smoke, to the point that I refused possession of the apartment. While I was negotiating with the apartment complex, the movers were in their moving van contacting the main office to determine if their were storage facilities available and what the cost would be. We were locked out of the second apartment (new roommate was supposed to provide access but she had left town for 4th of July weekend).
  My items were not prepped to be put in storage for a month as I assumed I would be completing the move in a day. The movers then took my items to their storage facility, blanked wrapped the items and placed items in storage until I was able to locate a new
  apartment to rent and head back to college.
  I can't emphasize how professional they were and how they went above and beyond all expectations to assist me when everything that could have possibly gone wrong with the move did. Everyone from the two men who were doing the move to the office staff at both the moving company and the storage facilities were very professional and nice to work with.

  Local Movers

  These guys were great!  They got us in quick (next day! and on a Sunday at that) and were friendly, punctual, and professional. They treated the furniture, mostly antiques, with care. Some of it was massive so not an easy job, especially to take it up stairs and around a corner. I wasn't even sure they could move my heavy library card chest now converted to a tool chest, but they did it with gusto. One chest got its "foot" partially broken in the process but they took care of it right away, paying for our repair.  I can't say enough good stuff about them.  Don't hesitate, just hire Local Movers!

  Buehler Moving & Storage of New Mexico

  Missing a side table top, vacuum cleaner hoses and attachments, carpet cleaner, caster for a really old glass front bookcase that I haven't been able to match and supports for multiple bookcase shelves. They also crushed the trim on a custom made bookcase, broke a ceramic cat sculpture and Wedgewood china dog, smashed a dried flower arrangement, destroyed a desk chair and wooden glider, cracked a leg on an old checkerboard table! They did, however, manage to wrap all of the recycling individually AND they wrapped and packed the TRASH from our bathroom!

  Local Movers

  The crew on both ends (VA and GA) were professional, friendly, courteous good guys. The two drivers who were there on both ends we're great. We got to meet David (VA manager) and Andrew (owner) in the process, and they were honest, polite -- just good guys. Everything arrived safe and intact -- and really, these guys came in a good bit under 4 other quotes we had gotten. I will contact them again when we move again.
