    Vistar Eye Center
Dr canceled surgery after I said "****" when they insisted that I couldn't use Uber to go home after surgery. I hung up and hired a medical babysitter but when I called back Dr Burns had cancelled the procedure and referred me 200 miles away to Charlottesville. His office then sent the Sheriff to try to take my license because of the floaters in my vision, trying to make it impossible for me to get to Charlottesville. Hippocratic oath means nothing to them.

Dr. Dovie is wonderful. He's friendly, energetic and well informed. He does his research, which I really appreciate. He told me about some scholarly articles he's been reading on a topic related to an eye issue that I have. He also has a very friendly staff and a really nice optical shop with great choices.

    Blacksburg Eye Associates
Very well! The staff were professional and friendly, explaining and performing the procedures and tests needed. Dr. Mitchell gave a detailed diagnosis and explanation of what was needed to correct my problems. Ditto the opticians. Their explanation of options for lenses (2 sets) was thorough and after wearing them for a few days, we could not have done any better. They also worked with me for the best prices. I plan on returning as needed and would highly recommend these folks!!!

    Farhi Vision and Glaucoma LLC
Dr. Farhi instantly knew what was wrong with my eye and made me feel like she had an encyclopedic medical knowledge. She even pulled out a book and showed me an example of my condition. I did have to wait a while to see her, but she was apologetic about it. She's got people coming from all over to see her. She didn't have the warmest bedside manner in the world, but she also seemed very competent and I felt like there was a big difference going to her versus the optometrist that I had been seeing. I would say if you have a real medical problem or something complicated, she is definitely the one in town to go to.

    Blacksburg Eye Associates
I have going to them for 2 years already. They are very accommodating and it is easy to set-up appointments. They have a great staff and they have the most up-to-date equipment we need. Price wise, they work with you with your insurance. They have a great selection of eye wear and the doctor is very, very nice.

Dr Dovie is pleasant, concise, informative and compassionate. When he did the tests for the blood supply to my retina and found a difference in the shade of the veins/arteries, he explained very well what it could indicate and referred me back to my PCP to have my cholesterol checked, and quot;just to be sureand quot; it turned out okay, and he was right, some people just have different shades and may be normal, but I am glad he is looking into it. He also right about raising the grade of my eyeglasses just enough to clear my migraines.

    Dr. Steve Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs has been my eye doctor since the early 1990's. He is always friendly, warm, patient and thorough. No difference this time. He had several suggestions for contacts and helped me pick what was best. I had to select a new pair of glasses too, and Fran was very helpful. I hate finding new glasses and tend to be picky. Fran was patient with me and found the perfect pair. My husband and son go here, and they are always happy. The only issue is that they are closed early on Thursdays, which I never remember and have come to find the shop closed. But, not a big deal.

    National Optical
The staff were very helpful (sorry, don't remember the lady's name). She offered advice when asked, kept out of the way otherwise. She explained our various lens and lens treatment options and offered pros/cons for each. Of course she left the decision to us, but was very helpful with answers to our follow-on questions.
The new glasses arrived on the day she predicted, she adjusted them slightly and we left the office happy campers.
Since my wife is so happy with her glasses I'm going back to them for my glasses next week. Their prices seemed to be in line with other providers.
All in all, SWMBO is happy. Happy wife, happy life, right?

    Veloso, Dr Ashley C
Dr. Ashley C. Veloso is excellent. I don't use anybody I don't think is excellent. I'm really, really pleased with him. He has taken care of me, my daughter and my late husband. We've all been very, very pleased with him. You don't have to wait long. You might have to wait five minutes, but that's it. Everybody's professional. I wouldn't go there if they weren't.

    Blacksburg Eye Associates
I like Blacksburg Eye Associates they are very thorough. I am going back this month for the contact lens fitting. Dr. Vovid described everything in so much detail and he has a lot of equipment which takes pictures and he could point out in the pictures what I need to watch out for in the 20 years. I had messed up and didn't go for my contact lens fitting but they were very accommodating when I went later. They are expensive on the glasses side. The staff is very friendly. I have recommended them to others.
