    My low-mileage Ford Ranger had failed a state inspection recently performed at the Ford dealership in Charlottesville VA.  Cause cited: loose front wheel bearings for which they quoted $350 to repair.  I was suspicious since my truck has only 32K miles.  Instead, I took it to Integrity in Orange VA, who has always maintained our older vehicles.  They reinspected and found absolutely nothing wrong; the bearings and front end suspension was well within specs and the state-mandated safety tolerances.

    Integrity is a very trustworthy repair shop.  Keith and his team of mechanics (such as Sean) do an excellent job.  They never oversell and only recommend work to keep our vehicles safely running and in good repair.  They have very reasonable prices, especially when compared to dealerships but also when compared to other independent shops.  I highly recommend them in this area (Orange county and Culpeper County, VA).

    I made a Saturday appointment mainly to address an airbag recall on my 2004 Ranger, which I mentioned specifically when scheduling my appointment. Since I planned to leave it with them -  they estimated a half-day to fix the airbag recall - I decided to also have them perform an oil change and Virginia state safety inspection.
    When they called me to pick up my truck, they told me that not only did my low-mileage truck (32K) fail the safety inspection, but they didn't even repair the airbag because the parts still had to be ordered and wouldn't be in for days.  When I asked why they even allowed me to schedule the appointment when they didn't have the recall parts available, Nicole simply said "Oh well, the person who makes appointments doesn't know anything about service or whether parts are available.". 
    To recap, I made the appointment to address a recall which they never bothered to address.  Instead, they Failed my vehicle and cited $335.00 to repair "loose front wheel bearings", and offered new tire packages ranging from $550 to $730.  In total, they were seeking ~$1000 from me when all I wanted them to do was fix Ford's airbag problem.  
    I sought a second opinion from an independent garage who has always maintained our older vehicles (see my review of Integrity Automotive in Orange, VA).  They reinspected and found absolutely nothing wrong with the front bearings or suspension.  Everything was well within safety specs and so they issued me a Passed safety inspection sticker.
    Malloy Ford in Charlottesville has truly terrible customer service at best, and at worst is a dishonest shop.  I will admit that they are friendly, but they are mainly incompetent. 
    Lesson learned: Do not take your vehicle here for any repairs or inspections.

    only that but I brought my car in near closing time and they still took
    the time to run diagnostics on my car and fix the problem. Excellent
    customer service!!! They really care about their customers and they do everything with a smile!

    I also bought my car there and they really met my expectations. The service person I spoke with was very professional and pulled up my records while explaining to me what work I was due to have on the car. They performed those services for me and I had to wait quite a while but I had gone in thinking I was only getting an oil change. The other things required a few hours so I can't hold them responsible for that; I agreed to do the other work. They send me emails and letters of thanks so their communication is very good. I don't feel like they are taking advantage of my price-wise and their facility is beautiful. They have coffee and water and computers there for customers to use. This company makes it as comfortable as possible and they even offer a courtesy car if I want if I want to go scooting around shopping while my car is being worked on.

    This was my second bad experience with these guys. The first time around
    was this past spring. I called before I went to see if they were busy
    that afternoon, explained to them I needed state inspection and oil
    change and had a tight schedule for the afternoon. I was told they
    weren't too busy and that they could get me in within 15-20 minutes.
    They did that. Then I waited over two hours for them to finish the work.
    This last experience took the cake. I had taken the car in for
    another oil change. Then they tried to tell me I definitely needed
    brakes and rotors ($500+), and could use an alignment and new tires as
    well. All with a quote totally over $1000. I declined everything but the
    oil change. When I picked the car up, I had to take it back because
    they forgot to put the air filter back in the car!! Bottom line, today,
    in November, I finally need new brakes, my rotors are fine, and I still don't need new tires yet.

    Jonathan is very professional. He told me he would be at our house at 8:00 a.m, he arrived at 7:50. He immediately went to work, his attention to detail is wonderful. Both cars have not looked this good since they day we bought them - both inside and out. I would definitely recommend having your carpets shampooed, totally made my car look new again. I will definitely refer him to our friends and family and will use his services again.

    Contacted them about the repair, they allowed me to get my own parts as the required parts are obsolete and not available through Ford. Made an appointment, dropped of the truck and they gave me a ride back to the house. Job completed within 6 hours $75 under the estimated cost. Total cost (including my supplied parts) was 30-50 % of what I had been quoted by local Ford dealerships. These guys are great.
