    It���s done, some missing and broken items. Price higher than original estimate, although we had to store which requires additional off and on load plus storage cost, Should have gotten another quote but was in a time bind.

    Everything went very well, no complaints whatsoever. They arrived on time and didn't stop until until all the furniture and boxes were in their place. They set up all the beds and assembled the dining room table and hutch. They worked well together and never complained. They were awesome!

    Everything went great. The workers worked very hard under some extremely bad conditions. A snow storm came in the steps got icy but the workers continued to work until it was impossible to go on. Everyone worked very hard. I received a call from the owner on the same day that I placed my request for service on the internet. Actual heard from them in the same hour.  Came to my house immediately and gave me an estimate on the work. Initially I just wanted them to move a few pieces of furniture but we were not prepared so we asked them to move everything and they did without complaint. They did everything we asked them to do.

    J & M Moving Company are awesome!!!!!  I called on Friday, September 12th at 5:00pm  and spoke with the owner Mark Mosely.  He was very professional and great to work with.  He told me he could move the next day.  I was SO excited.  I met the movers (4 men and two trucks with enclosed trailers) at the storage unit Saturday morning at 10:00AM.  Introductions were made and then the four men moved my belongings in 45 minutes!  They hustled!!!! 

    We arrived at my home between 11:15 and 11:30AM, which was located across town from the storage unit.   Before moving any items into my home, they laid down blankets all over my floors to protect them from dirt and damage.  The crew were very courteous in regards to not banging walls and/or doors.  Antoine also hooked up my refrigerator, washer and dryer! 

    Overall, Mark Moseley, Dominic, Antoine and the three other men were FABULOUS to work with.  Professional, courteous, polite and genuine.  I called Mark after the crew left and told him what a great group of men he had working for him.

    I am referring this moving to company to all of my friends!!!!!!!!!

    Mid-Atlantic Moving & Storage

    Mid Atlantic Moving picked up my furniture from my previous residence on June 28, 2014.  The men (crew) were professional and very nice.  The crew leader came in and took inventory room by room.  They wrapped each piece of furniture in blankets and plastic.  They loaded my furniture up on the truck and delivered to their "onsite" storage facility.   I called on August 25, 2014 and requested my furniture be delivered to my new home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014.  On the work order, the estimated arrival time was 8:00-9:00 am.  Well I waited for five hours and no delivery truck and no furniture.  Made two calls within the five hours and asked where are the movers.  The second call I received was from a operations manager and this is what I was told:  They could not access my storage unit which is NOT onsite; located at an outside storage company due to a former operations manager had the account/contract set up in her personal name NOT the company's name.  She was the only one who could access the storage facility.  I then was told my furniture would be delivered on Saturday, September 13, 2014.  I then called the general manager Joe on Thursday, September 11, 2014 and left a message on his voice mail demanding a call back from him and that I wanted my furniture by Friday morning, September 12, 2014.  I received a call from the same operations manager I spoke with on Tuesday.  She explained to me they could not access the storage facility (Extra Space Storage)  until the former operations manager signed over the account to them.  This former operations manager is supposed to arrive in their office on Friday, September 12th, to participate in her exit interview and "HOPEFULLY" sign over the storage unit account to Mid Atlantic Moving.  I was told if she did not sign over the account, the authorities would get involved.  I hung up the phone and called my attorney.  My attorney advised me to give them until the end of business day on Friday to contact me.  If I do not receive my furniture by Saturday, my attorney will seek legal action towards Mid Atlantic Moving Company BECAUSE my contract is with them, not Extra Space Storage. 

    My mother, Diana Hubbard spoke with a sales manager on Tuesday and told him she was not going to pay rent for the storage after Tuesday's date. 

    What would I have done if I moved from one state to another and did not have family and friends to stay with while this fiasco was playing out between a former manager and this moving company?


    Except for the crew who moved me, I would NEVER refer this moving company to anyone!!!!!!!

    The owner had an attitude with primarily having to pack up the boxes .  The workers did a fairly good job at packing up the furniture and were very nice and polite.  All the furniture was damaged when they put it in storage because they had it packed so tightly. I had communicated them to let me know if they felt I should get a larger storage space but they indicated that they could fit everything into the space I  had arranged.  I felt they were not respectful of my items in the unpacking process.  As an example, I had a leather recliner where the leather was torn on the arms. Also, I had a 4-poster bed that has never stood up straight since then; the posts lean towards the center.  They were on-time ad and flexible with scheduling as the closing on the sale of my house had changed.  Also, the price of the move exceeded the cost of what they had originally quoted me by about $500. The infuriating thing is that when you sign off, you have no idea of what condition your items are in.  It was disheartening.  I would never recommend them and never use their service again.

    Between my wife and me, we have moved over 20 times. Finding a mover is a crapshoot. They can sound good on paper, the estimator will be as smooth as honey, the estimate seems reasonable, but the proof is the day the truck pulls up. The heartbreaking stories of failed moves is legion—arrived late or not at all, broken heirlooms, slow service while on the clock, carelessness, missing items (presumed stolen), unsafe conduct, late delivery, dumping boxes anywhere and leaving it up to you bring it to the right room. Then you get the bill and there are add-ons for every conceivable “extra” service and it was only an estimate after all. So we have seen it all.I did my homework and found Moxie Movers. Jesse is the owner of the company and he is on every job. He has his own truck and a crew of two others. There are no long contracts with clauses for lawyers to argue about. There is no deposit in advance. He showed up on time. He and his crew were professional, careful, and flexible. He made a stop at Goodwill to help us donate some stuff and he even delivered a piece of furniture to a woman who we had hired to help us pack and clean. When I asked for the bill, I had worked out the hourly rate times the hours and arrived at an estimate of the charges. He quoted a price lower than my estimate. I gladly paid him with a generous tip for him and his team. Even after that, the total payment was half what some of the larger moving companies had quoted and about half of what the moving calculators estimate a move will cost. I cannot recommend Jesse and Moxie Movers highly enough. You never know who will show up on one of the most anxious days of your life. Let Jesse show up and you will breathe a sigh of relief.
