    LEXUS OF RICHMOND
I have a pre-paid maintenance plan, so I don't know what the price was. I would absolutely use them again. I would tell someone that they live up to the brand. The workers are excellent and professional.

    Mac's Service Center
Work was performed on schedule and the price was as estimated.  The team at Mac's does top quality work and my SUV shifts as smoothly as the day it departed the dealership.  The complementary wash and detail was extremely well done (they didn't just run it through a local automatic washer as they do at the Lexus dealership) and was a welcome bonus after the winter weather!

    ALLSTAR AUTOMOTIVE
I was very happy that they took in my truck for same day service, understanding that I might not have made it back home. Great service and good estimates with lifetime warranty. Highly recommend.

    Hollywood Performance, Inc
I was having problems getting my truck to start. I took it to 4 different mechanics before I took it here. The other mechanics could not figure out what the problem was or would fix something else. When I finally brought it here they figured it out right away and fixed it the next day. The did a awesome job , and I will continue taking my vehicles to this mechanic.

    The Subie Guy
Eric (The Subie Guy) addressed all the issues. He changed the oil, cleaned up the bottom of the car, and recommended all the other maintenance items that Sheehy should have been doing to keep the car running properly but had ignored. He got the car in great shape took care of the smell and he did it for a great price in my opinion. I thought he was courteous, attentive and honest. He really is good with Subaru's and is probably better than any dealership for Subie's for miles. I will definitely be taking my car there for any future services.

    Ace Glass
So happy I switched to Ace for my latest windshield replacement. I had used another company for several years (who is well known and advertises heavily on TV etc.) and only wish I had switched to Ace sooner. Ace answered my email request quickly, worked with my limited schedule openings, and did a great job on the install for significantly less cost than I expected. My minivan apparently has two different windshields depending on which options you have and the prior company I used to use took THREE seperate trips and multiple conversations to get the right one installed. Ace already knew there were two windshield options for my minivan before they even came out and proactively brought both ones just to make sure they could install it right the first time. I could have saved an additional $40 by having it replaced in their shop but having their mobile service worked much better with my schedule.

When I pulled my 05 Prius into the garage and the engine would not shut off and I could not put the car into any gear, I thought either the world had gone crazy or I had.  When the AAA tow truck driver could accomplish those goals, I was sure it was me.  I immediately drove the car to Mac's Service Station, fearing that with the car working again he would be unable to discover what was wrong, and I would continue to have the problem at unpredictable times.  Mac ran a diagnostic and discovered a problem with the car's computer.  He also discovered that the problem was common enough that Toyota covered it under an unadvertised extended warranty.  He had the car driven from Ashland to McGeorge Toyota in Richmond, conducted all the dealings with the service department there, gave me periodic status reports during the ten days it took them to obtain the part and make the repair, and then picked up the car and drove it back to Ashland.  When I went to get the car, he refused to charge me even for the diagnostic, let alone the time and mileage his crew put in to accomplish the repair.  We started using Mac's because he took over the station from a previous owner we had patronized, and we've always been happy with his work.  This latest experience convinced us that Mac is a very special guy!

    Mac's Service Center
They’re very professional and honest.  You rarely have to wait more than several minutes for them to assist you. They performed all service in a very timely manner and complete the work in the time frame they indicated they would.  They have wonderful specials for their service.  I like the email coupons.  It’s a club you can sign up for.

    Hanover Auto Service

I had previously purchased new tires from a national chain, and because we were due for inspection, I asked them to complete that, as well. What I ended up with was an estimate in the thousands of dollars for work they said needed to be done (this was after they misplaced my car key for a week and ordered the wrong replacement wheel, etc.). I had work that obviously needed to be done performed by a friend of a friend at his home. Then I found Hanover Auto Service by using Angie's List. I had driven past it many times but had never thought to stop there. I'm very glad I did.
Pedro (the owner and lead mechanic) and Marie (his wife and receptionist) were both just wonderful to work with. He went over the entire estimate from the other shop and told me honestly which assertions were legitimate and which were ridiculous. He didn't just tell me his opinion; he showed me in the state inspection manual and had me look under the hood and under the car to see exactly what he was talking about. Then he gave me tiered options for making the needed repairs. Those repairs were done pronto and I was fully inspected and safely on the road in short order...and at a fraction of the cost proposed by the other shop...even when you consider what I'd already spent with the home mechanic!
As added assurance, while in the waiting area I ran into an old friend who told me that she never takes her car anywhere else, because the service is so outstanding.
I recommend Hanover Auto Service wholeheartedly. It's good to find a mechanic who is competent and trustworthy with your vehicle. That's Pedro.

We continue to use this service with excellent results. Just picked up our car today. We were sure the repair that was needed was the alternator. Instead, Pedro's team diagnosed it as a simple belt problem and we were on our way at a fraction of what we expected to pay. We greatly appreciate the honesty and professionalism and recommend others discover this excellent service for themselves.

    Firestone Complete Auto Care Store
I had my car towed to this shop after I got a flat and my insurance company offered this as one of several locations.  I had previously purchased two new tires from them and knew that I needed two more, so this seemed the logical choice.  I was also in need of a state inspection, so I asked them to take care of that, as well.  One of the wheels was damaged and needed to be replaced, so I had them locate a replacement.
In fairness, I said I wasn't in a huge hurry to get the car back...with holidays approaching.  But well beyond the holidays, I was still getting very little information about what, if anything, they had completed.  Each time I called, it seemed I was being put off or delayed.  Finally, they admitted that they'd lost the key to my car.  "Are you sure you didn't come in and get it...maybe to get something out of your vehicle?"  I was sure.  They'd lost my key.  A couple days later when I called to check in again (they didn't call me), I got the "good news" that they'd made a replacement key for the car.  I didn't know you could do that...simply make a new key for someone's car without getting their permission.  Never mind that the original key had a working panic button and this one did not.  I later asked a dealer if that's kosher...to simply make a new key to someone's car.  The response I got was that... it can be done, but we would never do that without the owner's okay.
Anyway... they did not give the car a passing grade for inspection and provided an estimate showing thousands of dollars of work that needed to be done (in addition to the new tires).  I balked....especially after the lost key and replacement wheel arrived and was the wrong wheel...and apparently we couldn't get the right one, because it was no longer sold.  Oh, the "good news" was that they found my original key lying in the grass outside their shop.  Apparently there had been a hole in the work bag they use and the key had been out there in the rain for days.
I ended up getting a second, third and fourth opinion on the repairs and had the needed ones performed by qualified mechanics for a fraction of the quoted prices.  I feel I made a terrible mistake in asking this national chain to do an inspection for me, especially given that my car is not brand new.  But frankly, I question whether I would have had a better experience even if my car were new.  Several people have told me that certain shops are instructed to run up the bill as much as possible.  And most customers, I suppose, don't know enough to question it, don't have the time to question it or maybe just don't care.  I care.
There were a few people there who were pleasant enough to deal with along the way, but I really don't feel I had anything close to good customer service, and I doubt I would go there again.  I will say, however, that I like my tires.  I'm thankful for those and hope they continue to hold up well.  If I could give a separate grade for just the tires, I would grade higher...maybe a B.  But the overall estimate puts them at the bottom of my list of go-to places.
