Gas Fireplace Repair reviews in Ashburn

  • In addition to getting the fireplace running well and cleaning out some clogged lines, he advised me on how to keep it in good working order and certain safety measures.
    I highly recommend.
BTW, he'll give you a little discount for paying in cash.  ; )

  • It went well.  The owner, Bill came out.  He took pride in his work and did a good job.  I was extra pleased he was willing to come out to Ashburn as he's all the way out in Stafford/Fredericksburg area.  He got our fireplace working again and cleaned it well so it looks much nicer.  We are new to gas fireplaces and he gave me helpful answers to all of my questions.  Personable guy.

  • They didn’t seem to do much. I could have done what they had done. They said that they would move the logs from the fireplace to clean but never did. They also only shined a flashlight around to look during the inspection. They also brought the wrong size for the fire rocks. I also did not see any kind of tune-up.

  • I?m not happy with the service I received for 2 reasons. First, I was not told when someone came out to give an estimate that I would
need to hire an electrician to install a box prior to fireplace installation if I didn?t want to have the unsightly cord running from the new unit to the wall. This will most likely run hundreds of dollars and I would?ve liked to have known ahead of time to plan the install and possibly go with a less expensive fireplace insert to offset the cost. Another issue I experienced was when I ordered the bronze faceplate and they delivered a black faceplate.  Apparently I wasn?t told when I ordered, or when I called back after the install, that it would cost an extra $575 for the bronze faceplate. I only found out after calling back again a second time to find out the status after the guy that did the installation said he would put in the order for the correction. Needless to say, I am not happy with a color that I didn?t pick out and a cord that I didn?t want sticking out after already spending thousands of dollars.

  • The technician Julian called 30 minutes in advance of his arrival and was punctual.  Julian was professional, extremely courteous, and maintained a very clean work environment.  The job was completed in about 40 minutes.  I am very happy with the results and will be doing additional business with Complete Chimney and Fireplace, Inc in the future.  I highly recommend them!!

  • Scott, the technician arrived on time.  He was friendly and very professional and immediately got to work.  He explained what he was doing as he worked (I wanted to know) and also how to operate the fireplace (I'm used to log burning freplaces). He spread tarp or a cloth around the fireplace area/hearth so that nothing would get dirty as he worked. d
I was very happy with the service.  It took about an hour or less.
There was no pressure to buy any extra equipment or future service and because of this I will regularly use their services in the years to come to maintain the fireplace.
Nice work overall!  Very pleased with the job and the friendliness of everyone I spoke to when setting up the appointment.
    Would definitely recommend this company.

  • Bowman's responded to our call promptly and we scheduled an appointment to determine the feasibility of converting our conventional fireplace to gas.  Dean arrived on time and spent about 45 minutes reviewing the fireplace situation and finally determined that the conversion was possible but only at (to our mind at least) a very high price. He was professional and the advice he gave seemed solid. We will be looking to heat our basement in another manner but it was good to explore the gas option.

  • Jim checked both my vented and non-vented gas fireplaces which had not been serviced in 5+ years (one had been 10 years since last service). He arrived within the two hour service window (very much appreciate two hour window compared to much longer window many other service companies use) and was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. I would recommend his service to any of my friends -

  • He was responsive and punctual. He was knowledgeable and went above and beyond in explaining how the fireplace works. He was very careful about keeping the house clean and not tracking in dirt from his shoes.. He is very professorial and we will hire him again when need.

  • Don Fenton, the owner and installer came out in March to provide an estimate for two gas lines.  I had already received two estimates from plumbers that were extremely high - over $3000.  Both plumbers assumed the fire pit line had to run off the gas meter on the opposite end of the patio fire pit area in order to provide the right volume/pressure.  One plumber told me that I needed to do a load calculation to see if I had enough gas coming in at the meter.  He said he could "help me" if I got the calculation form from the gas company.  My Weber grill runs at 38K BTU and the fire pit burner ring needed 150k BTU. My house has typical existing gas appliances; gas stove, fire place, heating.
Don is a retired gas company employee who knows gas.  He quickly surveyed my patio area, my main gas line coming into the house etc. He looked at his reference book to confirm the right line sizing for the distance/pressure to fire pit.  He easily determined the patio location of where each line should extend from the inside basement mechanical room.  He provided a written estimate.    He also made some recommendations on the design of the fire pit.  We discussed the design tips that I had gathered from the internet for gas fire pits which have safety considerations that a wood burning fire pit does not have.  I was concerned that the fire pit burner ring would not have a high enough flame due to poor gas volume/pressure but he assured me that it would have 400k BTU going to it!
I had Don scheduled to come out to do the gas line for the grill first.  Several months later he came out to run the line out for the fire pit.  He even brought out a plumbing drain pipe that could be used for the required fire pit side vents.  They turned out to be a perfect solution - both size and aesthetically.   Don also did not like the way the fire pit bottom was finished.  He immediately proceeded to create a concrete floor sloping to the drain hole.  This was not in the scope of his estimate but he demonstrated that he felt an "ownership" of this fire pit.  He applied for the Loudoun county permit.  The permit was approved after the two necessary inspections.  Initially, Don did not intall a regulator on the fire pit line.  He wanted to ensure there was enough volume but it resulted in a hissing/whistling sound when the fire pit was on.  We did not like that so Don immediately came back out and added the regulator which eliminated the noise but the high flame size remained. Don is knowledgable, professional, and cares about quality.  I highly recommend Don for any gas line installations, servicing, fire pits, fire places etc.  His correct phone number is 540-907-1769.
