Center For Foot & Ankle Care PC
I had been to Dr. Smith many years ago, so when my heel pain started she was my immediate go-to foot doctor. Checked the heel and as suspected it was plantar faciatis. Recommended easy-to-do/follow exercises and regular icing. So far, so good.

    Keast, Dr. Matthew J.
Dr. Keast was excellent!  He was able to see me quickly (which was very helpful since I was in pain) and he treated the problem efficiently while explaining the process to me.  He was very flexible with his schedule in follow up appointments as well, even coming into the office on a day he does not normally see patients.  I've never had an experience like this where a doctor will come in just to take care of one patient - excellent care. Thank you Dr. Keast!

I was on time, but waited a half hour in the waiting room,  During my wait, I observed an "intake" interview of an elderly patient  by one of Dr. Pearl's staff in the waiting room.  All kinds of private information was asked and given, including all of the lady's health history and such things as whether she saw a psychiatrist.  This sort of interview should be done in a private room, never in a public waiting room!   Seems a violation of HIPAA to me.
When I finally saw Dr. Pearl, he asked me why I was there (which I had already indicted when I made the appointment), and I said to get a new pair of orthotics because the older ones were worn out.  He just grabbed the orthotic I had taken out of one shoe and had an assistant place the order based on the number on the orthotic.   Our "appointment" took less than a minute.  When the orthotics came in, I got a call from Dr. Pearl's office to pick them up.  I  had to wait while the fellow at the front desk, who described himself as an intern, tried to figure out what if anything I should be billed.

    Damaneon Smith
As my son's situation was somewhat urgent, Dr. Smith was able to accommodate us with a quick appointment. Everyone in the office was very professional, and Dr. Smith resolved my son's issues quickly and easily. He also arranged for a follow-up. Billing was prompt and correct as well. Highly recommend.

After many years of hiding two grotesquely deformed fungus-infected nails on my big toes, I worked up the courage to see a podiatrist. I got an appointment with Dr. Hallivis within a few days. He assured me that such nails are not uncommon. I agreed that the best treatment option was to have the nails removed. So on May 7, Dr. Hallivis removed one of them, and a week later the second one. The procedure was painless and super fast. I was given excellent instructions on follow-up care--and I was able to wear my shoes right away. Thank you, Dr. Hallivis.

The office was very disorganized. The doctor himself was not very professional. He kept talking to me and to his staff (who was outside the room) at the same time back and forth. The X-ray machine was broken and was not even plugged in properly. It was my worst Dr visit experience.

The appointment went well. It took a while before I went in to be evaluated, but the doctor was very thorough. He explained to me that based on my symptoms he suspected I had sesomoiditis - an aggravation of two small bones in my foot. He sent me to x-rays, they took them of both my feet so he could compare to the good one. He confirmed his diagnoses and showed me the result on the x-ray, and he taped up my foot in a way that took the pressure off the sore spot. He gave me a prescription for painkillers and told me to rest it and wear well cushioned shoes for the next few days.. A week or so later my foot was feeling a lot better and today I am having no more problems.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you left feeling very clear of what was discussed and very well informed? That is the way I felt after my appointment with Dr. Jay Ryan. The whole experience was positive.
I was able to get an appointment quickly. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful when I made the appointment over the phone and they were same when I came in for the appointment. I was seen on time. I saw Dr. Jay Ryan. I was extremely pleased with the care and treatment I received. Dr. Ryan asked questions and listened. He examined my foot and verified that I indeed had a plantar neuroma. He then clearly explained how these conditions are initially treated, and the next steps if initial treatment is not successful. He also shared the typical success rates of each method of treatment. Dr. Ryan shared options and recommendations. He was respectful of my concerns and decisions while expressing his recommendations. I ended up receiving an injection of a denatured alcohol dose through the top of the foot. The pain of the plantar neuroma has definitely lessened, although I can still feel the foot is not back to normal. However, I felt the injection was a success because I am able to enjoy physical activities that I couldn't do because of the pain. I will likely need to go in to see Dr. Ryan in the near future for the second mode of action. I would highly recommend the Virginia Foot and Ankle Center.

    Pozarny, Dr. Edward S
Excellent care. Dr Pozarney treated my severe heel spurs and helped me back to good health very competently. He was excellent in treating my ankle - had many boots in his office for immediate treatment.

    Kominsky, Dr. Stephen J.
I needed bunion surgery and went to 5 area podiatrists for consultations. Ultimately, after doing my research, I selected Dr. Kominsky. I made a great decision The surgery went very well. His pre-surgery instructions were excellent, and his bedside manner was great. He explained everything thoroughly and his office staff is friendly and professional. I had physical therapy from the practitioner he recommends, and she was also excellent. All around I am very happy I selected Dr. Kominsky -- he was heads and shoulders above everyone else I considered.
Best of all is that my foot has healed beautifully and the bunion is gone! I highly recommend Dr. Kominsky.
