    Custom Design Tile
I could not be happier with my experience with Custom Design Tile. Brian and Mike were incredibly thorough and professional. They paid attention to detail and were enthusiastic about the project. Their crew was incredibly polite and professional. Also, I was incredibly grateful to find a contractor that was both on time and on budget. All in all, they made a major renovation as easy as possible. Beautiful work. I would choose them again in a heartbeat.

    Phoenix Home Services Inc
Steve and Clint from Phoenix Home Services were fantastic to work with - from start to finish. We pulled estimates from four different contractors and their's was the most competitive by far (beware if you live in Arlington, VA - some contractors will overcharge just because the feel like you live in Arlington and they can get away with it). I appreciated their approach of waiting until all materials had been ordered/delivered and on site before starting; it minimized any delays and speeded the progress of the work. They started the week of Thanksgiving and finished right before Christmas. I was amazed at the pace at which they worked and the quality results. I'm highly attentive to details and was probably a pain in the butt at times, but they always accommodated me. They were on site every day and on time. Dan, the site foreman, and his crew were professional and highly competent and easy to get along with. Additionally, they improvised solutions when confronted with the challenge of dealing with a 90 year old home that helped make the spaces highly functional. They treated the rest of the house with care as they ripped out floor and walls in two different rooms. the project entailed renovating the original small kitchen in a 1930's colonial into an entertainment space (demo and new hardwood floors and wall repair) and renovating the old sun room into a new kitchen and living space (complete demo and reno down to the studs). They installed an all new window configuration, new siding on the outside, insulation, new floors, walls and ceilings including electrical install and plumbing where the was none previously. We could not be more satisfied with the results. A few months after the build, we discovered a minor problem (not related to their craftsmanship) and they returned and fixed the problem as part of their warranty. For any future work (we have a couple projects in mind) we would only hire Phoenix. Highest recommendation!

    Thomas Custom Builders Inc
We had a wonderful experience working with Thomas Custom Builders (TCB) from start to finish on our home addition. We added a master bed and bath, unfinished basement, and screened in porch. First and foremost, we went with TCB for this renovation because we felt like they provided high quality services at a competitive price. We felt very comfortable undertaking a big project like this with TCB because unlike some of the other builders and architects we met, TCB listened to our ideas and concerns and helped us to visualize exactly what we need in a renovation and within our budget. They worked with us patiently through changes in ideas and scale of the project. Then throughout the actual renovation, the TCB staff were amazing. Brian was onsite the entire time, overseeing every aspect of the project, with absolutely no issues. It was great to have the same person there every day and it was very clear that he knew exactly what he was doing and what we wanted/needed. Work was always done within a reasonable time frame and with high quality. The TCB team finished everything within 3 months, which was even faster than we had even anticipated. We would absolutely recommend TCB to our family, friends, and neighbors and use them again.

    Remodel USA
Remodel USA did a wonderful job on our floors. The team was punctual, professional and polite. The work was done quickly. They were good at communicating the process and letting us know what to expect. They even painted the trim in our bedroom even though we didn't expect it.

Chandler's Plumbing and Heating Co Inc
In view of Jos's exceptional work in my earlier bath project I, again, turned to Chandler's to complete repair work as a result of basement waterproofing in the laundry room and family room. Jose led the project, working with Augustine. It included repair of drywall, replacing flooring (mosaic tile in the laundry room and vinyl planks in the basement family room) and painting. The professionalism of the the entire Chandler's team is impressive. All communications worked smoothly. The work completed exceeded my expectations. Photos attached.

Chandler's Plumbing and Heating Co Inc
I selected Chandlers after consultation with several contractors for major repair work in my basement as a result of installation of a full perimeter French Drain. The work required re-installation of a shower and toilet, removing remaining old tile and installing vinyl planks, repair of drywall and painting. The work done by Jos was flawless, he is a perfectionist. In addition, it was a major plus that Chandlers was able to do the entire project Photos attached.

    MP Home Repair
Marcos had already done a bathroom for me so this was a no-brainer. Notice the before and after photos. We had an original yellow bathroom that my husband loves to use because our master bathroom is 5x7. Wecalled Marcos and we negotiated a fair price. My job was to pick all the details and handle the shower doors on my own. They removed a tub and we made a shower. We placed everything from toilet, vanity, vanity lighting, added a shower light, a Panasonic fan that is so quiet you dont know it is on. They tiled the floors, shower floor and walls (tile from BF Ceramics) and all the fixtures (Somerville Kitchen and Bath). They would have finished the bath in 10 days but I had a delay, once again with the vanity, then I had to leave town. The shelving in the pics will be stained the color of the vanity when they come back, once I pick a stain. This crew aims to please. The Moen shower fixture was sticking out too far and they fixed that. Moens instructions are incorrect but they handled in stride. The price is the labor and construction type items. I controlled my expenses by managing the cost of tile, grout, trim, toilet, vanity, plumbing fixtures including the diverter, etc. Well, I have the master bathroom and a deck I need to replace. I particularly like working with Marcos because when he commits to doing a job, he is your whole focus. When I got estimates from other folks everyone wanted to take 3-4 months to finish. Marcos finished under 10 days if we dont count the delays on my part with that darn vanity.

    Lakewood Home Builders Inc
We had a major house fire which ended up being a gut-rebuild and I went general contractor shopping. I saw reviews, interviewed five GCs and ultimately went with Lakewood. I'm so glad I did and I am a big advocate not just of their end product but the process. When you work with a GC, you're in a relationship with them. We had a great experience with Lakewood. Here are some examples why: 1. Tim, one of the partners, was an adjuster in his past and was able to help navigate the insurance world with ease without me having to be in the middle. His knowledge in giving an initial estimate, in negotiating and sharing facts with our insurance company made me feel that I was in good hands. He was an advocate. I would trust them to give me sound advice. 2. I wanted to use Google Sheets to track items I purchased vs. them. They embraced the change and indulged me in my method. This showed a lot of flexibility. 3. Lance manages the heck out of the projects he's on. He's a no BS guy--straight talker and doesn't sugar coat stuff. If it can be done, they'll tell you. If it can't, they aren't wishy washy and tell you as it is. He's at the job at 6am marking and planning for the work that needs to be done that day. He organizes a varied team of contractors that do the various trades (plumbing, electric, etc). 4. They give you the time. Projects get done before they say they will get done. They take on what they're able to manage and they are good guys. For them to be profitable, they need to use several sub contractors for trades efficiently. They make sure to plan who they need effectively. 5. A GC's work product is only as good as the work that they get done through contractors. The contractors that Lakewood uses are kind, they speak English (which was useful for me), do good quality work, and they work hard. I saw them working through weekends, late into the night, and generally seemed happy to be working for Lance. 6. The pace at which they work is great but it was a challenge for me to keep up with. Since our house was a full re-build, I was often the bottleneck in making design or product decisions. You pay for what you get. Lakewood will be competitive in pricing but they will be the higher of the options that you may have in front of you. But keep in mind that the price you pay is not just for a quality end product, but also for your trust (they take great care of your home/ area), for good advice and guidance (peace of mind), and for the experience (it's painless). So go ahead, swipe right. All the best! x-post on Google and Angies

    Ultimate Remodel LLC
Renovations included a Guest Bathroom using the original footprint and a more extensive renovation for the Master Bathroom. Ultimate Remodel LLC's owner, Tunch Aydo, was extremely helpful in explaining the projects' designs, suggested materials and details and answering all my questions and concerns in the planning period and throughout both renovations. His crew Alex, Alex and Noel did outstanding work on both bathrooms. They kept me up to date on each day's work and subsquent plans and cleaned up at the end of each day too. Tunch was always available for questions and made site vists throughout the projects. The Master Bathroom renovation was more extensive and Tunch's design maximized the new bathroom space and new walk-in closet. The transformation from what this was to what it is now is outstanding. He kept the projects to the timeline and the budget. I highly recommend Tunch and his company and want to thank him for these beautifully done bathrooms.
