    Alexander Davis Contracting
Excellent job on our retaining wall. They replaced bricks and RE-pointed a a very large area. They also power washed the entire wall, waterproofed steps leading from basement as well as the entire wall and steps leading to front door. Everything looks great - better than new!

    South Florida Asphalt Services LLC
Our driveway was done couple years ago with many Quality issues, Gus did come back several times to address minor issues, however the really issue was that the resurfaced Asphalt was higher than the my garage door floor and water floor into my driveway. Gus and Diana noticed the issue and try to schedule a fix 2018, but they told me that their schedule was full 2018, and they will fix my driveway 2019; now it is the season for 2019 to fix my driveway; you know what, surprise!!! their email address changed (, business name changed , old phone number disconnected. They moved to Florida. I feel I was being cheated on their promise to address our issues. They were such nice people in person and in email, yet surprise and vanished. Do not expect any warranty on their work...

We're very pleased with the results. Gus is the most accommodating contractor I've ever worked with. He dealt with a number of residents individual issues and weather issues to satisfy all our residents.

    East Coast Paving
It didn't. After paying a huge deposit, East Coast Paving failed to ever perform the work or return phone calls, emails, or certified letters. I would sue them, but the only address they gave me is invalid and they are not licensed (!) with the state of Virginia, I can't. Bottom line: these people stole my money. Do not do business with them.

Since I rely upon on-line reviews to evaluate service providers, I feel it necessary to write a detailed review of my recent work by Bright Masonry. My house in Arlington needed extensive work to a long flight of flagstone steps and a a retaining wall that had crumbled. I had a number of contractors look at both and the proposals varied wildly from a few thousand dollars to nearly 10 times that amount. I even went so far as to put a deposit down with one of the low cost contractors, only to have them disappear - lesson learned. When I was finally contacted by the County about the wall, I knew I had to get serious, and asked friends for recommendations. One suggested Bright Masonry. I contacted the office, and they sent out a knowledgable sales guy who quickly put a detailed bid together. While it was not the lowest price quoted (I'd already been burned by one of them), it was amongst the most reasonable I got. I thought the work would take a week or more, with me having to take off a lot of time from work to keep an eye on things, but they showed up with a large crew, and knocked the job out in only two days including a Saturday. The crew were professional, efficient, courteous and hard-working - I know, I did that sort of work while in college. They did a great job, solid work, and it looked better than I had imagined - they matched stone and mortar of a nearly 100 year old wall! They even did a great job with clean-up - which is one way to tell if a job is truly done right. Every phase of the job was handled well, and I can not recommend them highly enough! If you want to see their work, drive up Rock spring Road next to the Washington Golf & Country Club and look right halfway up the hill - that's their fine work on my wall. Give Bright a call and ask for Stephen S.

    NM Seal Bros LLC
I had a great experience with this provider. The company responded to me when I emailed through Angie's List, gave me a quote for the work after coming out to inspect the driveway and kept to the time and day that they said they could do the job. They used a process for sealing the driveway that was more environmentally friendly than a different company had used several years ago and they fixed the hole in my driveway that had developed over time. I followed up because the repair they had done was noticeable and had some tiny cracks that were visible. Nick explained why that was and how it would go away over time as I sealed again. He also offered to come back in the next week to look at it and put additional sealant over it. Very responsive, and the guy who did the work was very professional and thorough.

    AASCO Paving
Excellent, very professional job. Eddie provided thorough, fair estimate and honored it even though work involved turned out to be much more complicated and time consuming than originally thought. He and crew were punctual, kept job site clean and finished on time as projected. I highly recommend AASCO.

    East Coast Paving
We agreed to a contract in early June 2016. East Coast committed to paving the driveway by the end of July. East Coast required a down payment of $1,000. East Coast did not meet the initial deadline and would not return phone calls. Finally, Becky from East Coast Paving sent a text saying that they would pave the driveway by mid-August. Mid-August came and went and I once again could not get Them to return phone calls or text messages. Ultimately, I had to hire another company. East Coast has not returned the down payment and will not return calls. Beware also that the 9917 Gardenia address is not correct. Certified mail sent to that address is returned as undeliverable. We are purusuing legal action against East Coast paving

    Dominic's Paving
The provider called me at 11:00 am , saying that he is on the road and he will be at my house at 12:30 pm. He said that he wants to meet me for an estimate, but he NEVER made an appointment in advance. At 12:15 pm I left the house to drop my son for a soccer game.
Mr. Dominic came at my house and he called me on my cell phone. I was trying to explain him the work that supposed to be done and he said that he wants me to come home to speak with him. I told him that I can be home at 1:30 pm but he said that he cannot wait. He start cursing me and saying that he drove 45 minutes to come at my house, even though he DID NOThave an appointment with me. He start saying discriminatory words like"I know that you areIndian!" and I told him that I don't want to deal with a person like him. I felt threaten by him and definitively I will let all my friends know to stay away from him and his company. He is a dangerous man that I don't want to ever meet him. I just want to add that even if I am not "Indian", I felt disgusted by his business approach.

The service providers were really nice and helpful. Overall, the job was good (although the clean-up after power washing could have been more thorough). My biggest frustration was the final cost. Ended up costing $199 (coupon bought here) + $580 (additional). For power washing a driveway, a small backyard and installing some cabinet magnets, I thought this ended up being very steep. Basically it took two workers about 4 hours for everything.  Two weeks later, I found out my HOA was organizing a group buy for power washing the driveways for $50 each. :( Given the price, I wouldn't use this service again. However, the workers were nice, did a good job, and were responsive. I just don't think it's worth that much.
